Hi all I have received an email from Mamacita some of which she wishes me to share with you all.......
"My entire family was here from across America......We held a Jazz Memorial Service yesterday(July 7), at my church and returned to my house for a repast. Church was crowded, with many More...


heartwarming expressions given...this allowed me to get the first full 6 hours of sleep since Sully's passing. My neighbors have been wonderful and very helpful, most of the family has gone today,but several will hang out to help me tie things together in a manageable way for another week. By that time I'm sure I will running back to the site to thank all of the loving people there..I'd appreciate it very much if you will share a bit of this with them and let them know that I was certainly strengthened by the love and prayers that felt like a wonderful group hug. I'm still feeling the outpouring of that loving concern. I'll be back soon. "

the start of another summer day here in the south USA. Warm, humid and a chance of thunder showers in the afternoon.

I finished the plum jam yesterday morning. Results were less than perfect and not sure of the cause. I think we have 7 pints of plum SYRUP hehehe. Hubby is a sport, said, well, it will be good on pancakes, french toast, ice cream, plain puddings or angle food cake. Even have on hot biscuits on a plate and eat them with a fork.

The taste is just as wonderful as the Jam, so I am sure it will not go to waste. In fact, we had that bit I usually have lefto ver, not enough for a jar, even a half pint jar, so I made french toast and tried out the syrup and it was yummy!

G Mo, thank you for forwarding Mamacieta's message on to us. We had been anxious to hear from her. It is good to know she had so much family with her. Looking forward to her return to the site.

Reading the news while I'm online and of course, an article about one of my pet peeves appears! The number of pet peeves I have varies depending on my stress level, but this one seems to hang around.

When I did the 'high school tour' with d1 just before she started high school, a history teacher told us what would be covered during their 4 years of history. My comment was 'what about the rest of the world?'. I was quite upset that, apart from ancient Egypt, the rest of the world apparently only exists if it influences Australian history. So much for a well rounded education etc.

Today's paragraph that started off my rant....

Educators in NSW have become so obsessed with Australian history that students can pass through school without learning about the Holocaust, the head of the education department has lamented.

Well it doesn't look like I'm gong to run into anyone today. Have to free the phone line (blast this dial up!) as I'm expecting a call from the hospital to tell me what time I have to show up tomorrow and from a friend who needs a ride to pick up her new motorbike. Hope to catch you later!!

I've just been to a friend's house for coffee - she has a house on a hill with the most magnificent view!!

This friend is in the police and will be going to Sydney to help with WYD security. I asked her if she was going to arrest people who were wearing 'insulting' T-shirts - she didn't answer!

D#3 and I had a lovely lunch with Bean and Lachie today too. They made the drive up to our place because it is too cold for me to go out! What good friends they are. A wongerful time was had by all. I took them on a tour of the local area, including two surrounding towns then had a naughtily delightful arvo tea at the Emerald Bakery.

Ta Brenda, I'm nervous, though I shouldn't be. My mother told me tonight that she had something similar done years and years ago and spent 3 days in hospital!!! I'll be in and out....

Just dropped back in because ebob (d1) saw a poem on the wall of a friend's house and wanted to know all the words. Had to google it even though I've heard it 100 times before (Dance like no one is watching etc)

Have just came home from a dress rehearsal for the Gang Show. Laura has a walk on part. I have put a photo on my page. The Gang Show is a concert put on by the Scouts.
