Hi Mariane,

Thanks for your kind words - and also for becoming a member! Now *you've* got to put up a photo of yourself (though I'll understand if it takes a while - you have only been a member for an hour!).

I'm glad you enjoy the site, and I've got plenty of new stuff coming up.

Hello, I'm homeschooling my 9 yr old daughter. It can be quite challenging as she is dyslexic. She requires a lot of help with reading and writing. Writing especially as she finds it difficult to spell and copying takes forever. I started homeschooling my boys 11 yrs ago when we moved to our mountain because the road can be treacherous in the winter. I would get out in the sunshine if we ever get any, miserable weather lately. We got some snow Thursday evening and this morning. Glad you liked my youtube. It's one of my favourite pieces of music.

Hi Mariane, What a beautiful butterfly, did you take the picture. I had to chase my butterfly's all over the yard trying to get a few decent pictures.
Are you in the part of Australia that is getting some rain? I know how it is not to have rain. In 2006 it rained on 4 April and not a lot, we did not have another rain until the middle of October. Everything was dead here, was too expensive to water when they would allow watering. The very bad part was during July and August the temperature was 100 + every day. This year is so different has rained almost everyday of April and May.
Have a good day

Hi MARIANE.
for your visit to my Guest House and your interst and comment.
The ' NILE 'Is One of the longest Rivers (6671 Km/4000 Miles)long start from Victoria lake(Mid.Africa) ,passing by Sudan and ending in Egypt.
Egypt occupies the last 1200Km/700 Miles before its water drowing in the Miditerranean Sea.
The source of water is the much rains there which makes the water flowing from Victoria lake to the Nile ,during the long way it carry with it the clay and mud as in your river,so when it reaches Egypt it is completely loaded by very huge amount of mud and clay which is very useful to our agriculture, but to avoid the loose of these water into the sea ,We as 'Egypt' built the Aswan High Dam at Aswan Area. A very huge lake have been stablished 'Nasser Lake'and we control by this way the quantity of waer needed to pass through the Aswan Dam to the river Nile, keeping the rest of water in this lake as storage and to be used when needed.By this way the water reaches our area without mud and clay which be hide at this high dam, keeping the passing water is clear .That the reason why it is clear and blue and the River Nile without high stream.
About the Arabic Language Grammer ,It completely differ than English and it is not easy language grammer.Hope these information of interest to You.

Hi Mariane. You posed some BIG questions on my page. I think its fair to say that most Canadians would prefer to see Canada maintain its role as a 'peace-keeper' in terms of conflict. There is a lot of opposition to having our troops in Afganistan. We are politically caught between 'a rock and a hard place' though, as the US is our neighbour and our largest trading partner. Our current Conservative government has committed more to the US in terms of troop support then many of us here would like. In terms of climate change, I think we're waffling a little because of the immediate economic cost and impact. It is the number one issue here, but there is still no clear path outlined as to how we will reach our commitments to Kyoto, which the government has already changed twice. By and large, the 'average' Canadian is against any war of aggression and wants to attack the global warming issue, but we still have no clear direction on the later issued. This could turn into a thesis, so I'll quit now. Cheers!

Hello Mariane - thanks for your visit. Yes, seven of our group with our guide and porters did the Inca Trail which took the most part of 4 days. We didn't do the more popular trail, we did one that followed the Urubumba River but quite a bit above it and so it wasn't all climbing until the last day, and then we just kept climbing, and climbing, and climbing. It was a wonderful experience and I'd do it again any day. I had lots of photos shown on 'hard sudoku' at about July/August last year so you might like to go into gallery to see them. Some of them are also on Flickr.
Must go as my tea is ready. Re-heated meal tonight which I prepared last night.
Cheers

Mariane,
I saw your post on Texan page and I was having the same idea. I just found the members listing and thought I would touch base with one and all. I should have a map and pin point where everyone is. I love your comment on children - how true.
Well, I'm in the Midwest - Naperville is outside of Chicago - We are over 100,000 but it still has a small town feel still in some places - we do have alot of McMansion going up. The town is gearing up for the 4th of July - ribfest will be going next week - music and ribs The summer is in full swing - hot humid with strong storms passing though - a little cooler with the storms. Well, take care of youself and enjoy your day, Mary - I love the full moon - I'm a romantic at heart and this weekend is a Blue Moon - I have a case of Blue Moon beer in my fridge that I'm passing out to one and all - enjoy the weekend - I hope you can get out and howl alittle. Mary

I'm not having any party for the 4th ,my Mom is coming over to play a game of scrabble.
thats great that you and your husband are into teaching its very rewarding,my step daughter is a school teacher, she's a 8th grade math teacher and her husband runs the church camp for the kids ,the church there affiliated with and he also plays the organ at sunday services.
I'm glad you liked my rose, the poor thing has nearly died many times and I thought it had gone wild but that bloom came on this year,I don't know if it will bloom again or no the other flowers have taken over,my photo gives you the illusion of a glorious garden but most of my beds have turned to weeds due to poor soil and laziness!
Have a nice brake from school and be well

Hi, Mariane! The reason I was asking about the other accents, etc. was for e-mails. I figured if there was a shortcut for the é, there had to be shortcuts for all the other accented letters. Thanks to everyone's advice, I now have all the shortcuts written down. Before today, I had to compose my Spanish e-mails as a Word document (using the Symbol data) then copying and pasting the document into my e-mail. Now I can just do my e-mails without using Word. Saves a few steps.

I really appreciate your input - and everyone else's!!! Thanks!

Hi Marianne, thanks for your comment. I have always found the Haka to be a stirring piece of 'theatre' (don't tell the Kiwis I used that word, they might take offence and they're bigger than me).
I have looked up Barooga on the map and I found your town down on the Murray near Cobram. I've never been there although I have been to Echuca and Mildura. Many years ago I lived at Kerang.
I am a member of the RACV Club which owns a property in Cobram. We have often talked about a visit to Cobram and I know that one day we will get around to a visit.
