It was exactly one year ago on my 59th birthday when I got up my nerve to leave my first comment on this site. Since then, meeting & sharing information with so many wonderful people has become one of my favorite pastimes. I have learned so much about people & places I will never have the chance to visit, even though I do love to travel! Thank you for your good wishes & your friendship. I love you all!

Yes, I'm the one from Irmo; also lived in Fla for 5 yrs while hubby was stationed at Mayport. Both of our sons were born in Jax.
I retired (after 22 yrs with the same doctor) from doing pt accts/accts receivable. For most of that time it was a small practice employee-wise; not patient-wise, so also did front desk,etc. I've worked for drs since I was 16.
I just got my butter-bell; and now that I am aware of what I was doing wrong, I'm really enjoying--I've always preferred butter to margarine.
I like what you've done with your page. Again, have a wonderful and warm birthday.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to all those who have taken part in my big birthday surprise today! I didn't catch on to the plot until I got a call from Keith in California this morning. Hmmm, now how did he get my phone number? Then I saw Rob grinning over in the corner & realized he must have had something to do with this! It has been so much fun talking to so many people today & hearing some voices I've never heard before. You're really made this a special birthday. I appreciate your thoughtfulness & that of my dear husdand.

Kathy - We are headed up to Gainesville in the next day or two. We are going to take my mom to the University Hospital. (I believe they call it Shands.) I hope they can help her there. How was your birthday? I hope it was great. Thanks for the positive thoughts.

Kathy - thanks for the words of encouragement! We still haven't heard if they will accept her or not. They are booked solid until the end of March! She needs help before that! I have her doctor's office working also on getting her in. Thanks for your concern.

Hi Kathy....It will take me about one and a half hours to drive to Nicole's if I have a clear run. I go straight down the highway from Brisbane to the Gold Coast. If I get the call and it's morning (peak hour) then it could take me 2 or more hours. Yes, I will be at the birth!! Both Matt (Nicole's partner) and I are her support people. I will then stay at their place for about a week to help out with housework, cooking and generally learning how to cope with newborn. Of course, it has been 20 years since I have had a newborn so it will be new for me too!!!
