Good morning all! Raining here at the moment so it has gotten rid of the humidity and cooled it way down. (61F) Have a great day/night all!

STELLA, please send cool air!! I tis 10:30 am and heat index is 103 already!! Headed for a heat index of 114, I have NEVER felt it that hot!! AND they forecast keeps changing, pushing any cool weather further and further away, NOW the entire next 7 days does not show anything below actual temp of 99! I need a cool down time, or I am getting a plane ticket to cooler weather!!

OK, enough whinning, but if I do not complaine about it I will explode and hubby is tired of hearing about it hehe

Back to the kitchen, making desert for dinner now. Get the cooking out of the way early.

MizT, come on up! The difference between today and the last couple of days is unbelieveable. The local noon news now says the temperature is 57F. So it looks like it is getting even cooler! It will probably heat up a little once the sun breaks through. I must say it is very nice to have all the windows open. Time for lunch!

Thinking about all of the old tv shows I used to watch brought back a lot of memories! I can't believe I watched that much tv! I disagree with those that say it was a bad influence. I think it definitely depends on your family and upbringing.

Hi, Stella! I agree with you! We weren't allowed to watch all that much TV, but many of those TV shows brought back fond memories - maybe just from hearing about them or seeing them once or twice. Hope all is well and you're getting back to normal there! Lucky you - it's cooler there!

OK, I counted all the shows I scribbled on little pieces of paper around my computer and I counted 190 shows that I watched. I'm sure that I'm missing some that were shortlived. And I only included shows prior to 1976 when I was living at home.

So you would think by all of that tv watching, I did nothing else. But that's not true. I was allowed to watch a lot of tv (my younger brothers and sister were not allowed to) because I had good grades, read over 100 books a year every year, played sports year round, and took Irish Dancing lessons(practiced 1-2 hours a day for National and World championships). It amazes ME when I went through the list that I remembered all those shows, some of which I never missed an episode. I can't fathom how I fit it all in! My father did have a rule that we could never have anything that was advertised on tv. (ie: no Barbie doll)

Rola, as hokey as it was, Combat! was one of the great war shows of all time. One two-part episode called 'Hills are for Heroes' was as good a depiction of soldiers' frustration as anything I've ever seen.

But here we go with a real challenge: anybody remember ''Terry and the Pirates'' a brief TV show which was a spinoff from the comics?
