Bingo Ian.....I do remember seeing it briefly...but then again, I'm older than most folks here so it would be hard to name much that I haven't heard about even if I didn't watch the show....so I'll let Ian's challenge go forth for others....LOL!

Rola, ''Terry and the Pirates'' was an adventure-thriller, only on for about four months when I was 4 years old. I still can remember a couple of the scenes.

Combat! has to be taken in historic context, just like all the WWII movies of the time. All wounds were clean, people (never the favorites) died of single gunshot wounds, no one swore, only the Germans were brutal...et cetera. I'm not surprised that your father didn't care for it too much.

Hi /Bye Gail.....Julie, Its really cooled a great deal this evening, and we are promised a great weekend..heating up again by next week...but this is a nice spring like break. Glad you enjoyed my comment...I have been very lucky to meet some really great folks who didn't allow acclaim spoil them.

It's so refreshing when people remain 'normal' or unaffected! I can't stand divas. (I don't know what men divas are called.) Our children are musicians - and maybe we downplayed their abilities more than necessary, but we saw enough divas (where they studied through high school) for a lifetime.

Glad you like the butterfly avatar...no its not new, I have just underused it...it is pretty isn't it! Thanks.Have you been to my page recently to see my rain picture? Its a fave with me, but I think my timing was poor...so much rain has fallen in some areas that folks are sick of seeing rain...lol

I have visited your page a couple of times since we got back! I don't leave messages often, just enjoy pictures & you-tubes. I like your rain picture very much! (Where do you find something like that?) Did you have a 'moving' picture before it? I'm drawing a blank. I'm so glad we're both here at the same time, instead of 2 ships passing in the night!

yes, folks don't seperate talent and celeberity....many talented folks are overlooked by the flash in the pan...yet we all know that it takes hard work to remain on top, and just look at today's crop of so called celebs.....wow...what a waste for the most part...and often these folks have little or no talent!

I don't remember Terry and the Pirates, but if it was on tv before my family moved to the US, then we wouldn't have seen it. Maybe we didn't watch Combat for the same reason Rola's dad didn't like it. Bad memories of that period in time. My dad didn't fight in the war, he was imprisoned by the British Government in N. Ireland for the duration of the war for refusing to swear an oath to England.

I agree that its a good thing to be able to be here together for a change....yes I ha d a great waterfall, and a window with snow falling before this scene...they come from myspace, and there are so many to choose from. Nancy/Pa had the only other one and helped direct me to the site. I enjoy some of their offerings.

So true, Mamacita! Some people seem to think all they need to do is blow their own horn to be popular, forgetting that talent needs to be part of the equation! Then there are too many young people, some of them talented, who have been so spoiled that they expect everything to be handed to them on a silver platter and don't seem to think that they need to be responsible for anything they do.

I just finished reading the final pages of SA2, which were posted while we were away from a computer. I think I'm glad the posting had slowed down recently, or I would have had 50 pages to read.

Yes Julie..it does happen more often than not that comments show up while you are responding to a prior one..its okay when there are only two or three folks here..it gets more difficult when there is a large crowd...thats one of my problems with chat rooms

On the topic of 'Combat,' I don't remember our family watching it, either, which is understandable since my dad was in the US Army during WWII. I probably wouldn't have been interested, even if we had watched it. I'm not terribly fond of war movies/programs.

Just finished watching Monk. We only have basic cable to get the main stations so I got the DVD set for hubby for his birthday. It's his favorite show.

I enjoyed Monk the couple of times I saw it, but hubby wasn't interested. He tends to come into a room & immediatedly use the remote. Rather than get upset, I tend to spend more time at the computer, therefore my interest in this website.
