I haven't heard from Brendan since Saturday night when he called to make sure we had gotten the fax and sent it back. He said he would call after practice yesterday, but he never did. I hope things are going ok. If things don't work out with the soccer as was promised, he will be devastated. I'm kind of afraid that might be why he hasn't called. My daughter last year was sooo much easier!

By the time I have typed an answer there are 12 posts and my answer is no longer relevant.
Good to find someone to chat as the last couple of days there was no one about.

Yes Stella, we did get an oven. When we left home i told H that because I will be using it the most, I get to pick! Of course, we disagreed almost the minute we walked in the store. He wanted stainless steel and I like white. I got white! The saleswoman said that if we were thinking of selling the house at any time, white was the better option. As she said to me, if I were to walk into a house for sale and saw that the kitchen was all stainless, would I buy it?

Good to know June, thanks. I refer to jelly as the clear stuff and jam as the real stuff with the fruit giving it thickness. But I grew up in a house that called things differently than everyone else since we came from Ireland. But I think the store labels them that way as well.

Stella, my motto is - No news is good news! I'm sure if he was miserable, you'd hear about it. I would take it as a good sign.

My brother has all stainless steel (brushed not polished) and it shows all the finger prints. You have to constantly polish it!

Exactly Stella! I told H that as soon as the last child leaves the nest, he could have stainless steel everywhere....as long as he cleans it! We have a stainless steel bar fridge and it always looks grooty because of the finger prints. Anything that needs its own cleaning stuff is bad news!!!

We got white. We had to replace the refrigerator, stove and dishwasher all a few months a part. White doesn't show all the prints and it is easy to keep nice looking.

It made fascinating reading, that's for sure. I got very nervous when I first saw the new chatroom comment. I am so pleased that many have spoken against the idea.

I haven't been over to the debate page since last night. I commented because I was looking for something to do after coming back from the weekend. I was a little nervous commenting though but I really don't see the need for a chatroom. Why not chat on a page like this unless you're afraid of letting others see it. If that's the case, then use someone's personal page.

There hasn't been a lot added since you last looked. Becky put in her opinion. Seems like most of the respondants don't see the need. I understand where those who miss the 'old days' of the chatroom are coming from but if it went bad once, who's to say it won't again. IMHO The ones that always seem to stir up trouble or say nasty things on easy, are the ones who won't become members yet they are the ones who want to participate in the chatroom. Can't have it both ways and yes, Gath should be able to run his site how he sees fit. Ok, I'm off the soapbox now!

We had lots of rain yesterday and last night and this morning. Did not have to water the garden last night. A probus meeting this morning and visit to MIL this afternoon. Did a bit of house cleaning. Much needed as I have not done much since we got home three weeks ago. Sewing and babysitting have taken precedence over housework.

Callie is growing, she has been outside (of our garden) walking on her lead for the first time today.
She is fully inoculated now so we can take her anywhere we want now

My brother is in Ireland at the moment. He went for a short visit. I'm not sure if he's staying with relatives, friends or a parish, or on his own. Last time he was there was with my dad just before he died. I wonder if it's hard for him.

June, I can't believe what Victoria from Qld said about their dams. Less than 15% capacity! We are going to be in dire straights this summer. We only have about 30% here in Vic. They turned the fountains back on in the city because we had a few drops of rain. They just don't get it do they?

I have not unpacked from the weekend yet. I know everyone else has to do it right away and nobody can understand how I wait, but I do. Besides, after 8pm I am really useless. I don't get anything done. If I was Rola, I would still be cleaning up from the party!

The thing is Brenda, we've had rain but for some reason it isn't landing in the catchment areas. We currently have 10% less water in the reservoirs than last summer. With the recent rains, our gardens finally look green but when it comes to summer, we will be in a worse situation than last year when we were in severe drought conditions.
