Forgot to say, Rena, hope gumball recovers quilkly from stitches in thumb. I have discovered we use a thumb a LOT and really miss it when it is injured.

MizTricia from Alabama: thank you for your interest and posting on my page. My Sudoku quilt was born out of necessity. One of my students had given me two stacks of fat-quarter batiks and I had a big blank space on one family room wall in our new FL house. Since all my owned artwork is on the walls in our MA house, I just sliced up those batiks into nine 6 inch squares. Those fat quarters were perfect inspiration and since I do about 10 puzzles a day, I put the ideas together. I'm not pleased with my 'lines' in between the squares. I think they're too wide. I'm hoping some outstanding quilting will draw attention away from those lines. If you have any ideas, please share.

Thought I'd drop by (very shyly)to check out what happens at a Sudokuaholics meeting. I have finally plucked up the courage to 'come out' and admit that I am an addict. lol I'll just sit quietly on this chair in the back corner, perhaps no one will notice me doing my book of sudoku that I carry when I can't get to the computer!

Hi Meg, sorry but I spied you sitting there in the corner, you just can't hide for too long in this place. Now, put away your book & lets chat. It's not hard to become addicted to this stuff is it?

Hi all. I have to have my daily Sudoku dose - it just makes the day much better!! Finish work in 1 min and then off to fetch and carry kids for the rest of the afternoon. Much rather be in bed with a book as it is rather cold outside!!

GRANNIE MO, good to see you here again, been missing you. fly through that house cleaning and Get 'Er Done! Looking forward to seeing you back here chatting again. S

SUE, glad you made your way here and fessed up to your addiction. A daily fix, yep, you qualify :>). Now I know it is winter in the southern half and that South Africa is far south, but it is hard for me to associate the word AFRICA and cold. guess I always think of the huge grasslands and the mediterainian area, and forget just how far south South Africa. See I learned something else today, thank you.

ROLA, so, your chair is repaired? and now you say it is off limits? Well, my dear, you do have to sleep and it is opposite of many of our sleep times, so who shall guard your chair then?? Now I am not saying I shall be sitting in your chair, but you can only guess what goes on when you are sleeping. ( feeling paranoid yet?)

CP and Meg! Happy to have you join us. Stay out of the way of the crazed members playing musical chair! They admit to being elderly, and won't be able to maneuver around too much longer We must try and outlast them! Meanwhile, I have set up chairs for you out of the line of fire!

I do know Queensland is north east corner and famous for beaches and the great barrier reef, but not much more. Tell us about your part of the world, or If I got anything wrong, if you please. OH, that big rock outcropping, Ayers Rock? I cannot remember spelling of the other perhaps native name.

CHALKBOARD You know you are a sudokuholic when you make a sudoku quilt. YEP she belongs here. I will explaine this, She assigned a COLOR to each number in a solved puzzle and made a quilt top using that pattern!! So Chalkboard and I are gonna talk quilting. You may skip over or listen in as you desire.

Chalkboard, I lost a very long message to you about your quilt, but will try to reconstruct some of it. Are you wanting to accentuate the sudoku connection, or play it down, and let your color for a number be your little secret? If accentuation, How about quilting in that raised, padded quilting, name starts with a T, double line of quilting with a cording running through it. I cannot remember the name at the moment. Quilt in the numbers from the puzzle on the squares in that method? Being 6 inch square, you could get some large numbers there, would draw your attention to the squares more than the sashing perhaps? I will check with some of my online quilting buddies, what to do to make the sashing recede, did you say your 'lines' were black or did I just visualize it that way? black can make the batiks colors pop out, that is a plus. Did you make the 'lines' around the outside of the quilt also? Like the first border? Are your batiks brights or pastels? or a mix?

anyway you can get a photo of this? Some of us could help you figure out flickr and you could get it on your page.

Ok I will try to get info from some of my quilting buddy friends soon and let you know what i find out about making something recede to the background with quilting.

Cyndi: Front and center!! No skulking in the dark allowed! Be careful to step over the bruised bodies littering the area around 'the chair' while moving to the front of the room.

MizT: The Aboriginal(and original)name is Uluru. I was fortunate enough to be able to visit several years ago. Absolutely magnificent! 1,142' above ground, 2 1/2 miles long, 5 miles around the base (I walked it, so I know!!) The sun rising and setting turn it into the most unbelievable shades of red.
