Good maEn everyone!! It has been about mid 30's to low 40's for the past few days!! I've actually gone outside without looking like an Eskimo!!!! I was talking to TTT and said if it got any warmer, I'd break out my shorts again!!!
Glad to hear Rol&a's mum is doing well!! (as well as Bernie!!) Our friend Mike/Doc is coming over for dinner on Friday. He goes back overseas Sunday (BTW, he told me he was in Iraq, not Afghanistan!!) I took photos last Friday, will post them soon (as soon as I remember how!!)

Just popping in for a Good-Night post from here. Suzanne, your temperatures are about 20 degrees warmer than ours. I'd be willing to trade - or send 20 or our cold degrees to Oz, if anyone can work out a way to do it! Good Night, All!

June, thinking of your friend. Sometimes it does seem like the treatment is worse than the problem.
And I agree about the gninori. What was she thinking????

Phew, and we were complaining about 32degC temps - now down to 28. I just wish we would get some rain. usually we can rely on summer storms - not a one in sight for weeks. It is so dry here the grass crackles when you step on it - terrific when you have a lawn-mowing business - no-one needs their lawn mowed.
June - will keep you 'friend' in my thoughts as she faces more of this gruelling process. {{{hugs}}}

I'm heading out in a few minutes to check on the surprise calf.
It's down to 23℉/ -5℃ so there won't be any mud. The calf can handle the temperature, but cold mud will suck the life out of her.

Mother is home.
Now what do I do??? Done nothing but look after mum for the last 2 and 1/2 weeks!!!
Guess I'd better get some dinner organised sooner rather than later, the boy has to work this eve, he'll be wanting food before he goes.
and then there is the load in the machine that needs attention...
the fun never ends here at the Hotel Rolanda.

Good news Gail and Rolanda, hope everthing continues in a positive way.

Nola, D&D are closing down for two weeks over Christmas can guarantee they will have some unhappy customers when they return...the spare parts and service centre is closing down too duh!
June, hoping your friend has an easy time. In case I forget Happy 70th for Monday Ken.
Judy, did they ever turn up to pick up the pooter?
So good to see you back Julie.

Broni - get out into the breeze - it's lovely. Still hot inside my house, though - I'll open it up now that the sun has set.
Getting exhausted - having Emily all week takes it out of you. I wonder if when I was a child, I got bored every 10 minutes. Doubt it and we didn't even have TV until I was 11!! Poppy has taken her shopping for my Christmas present - don't know which one I prefer to choose it!?!?!

Nah Cyn, when we were kids we could play out in the street or visit our friends and we could run ourselves ragged, it was safe and we were not expected home until it was getting dark, to much excess energy to run off. I do feel for you, June's little munchin had me near stuffed and I was only there 2 days.

Evening all!
So glad I didn't have a little one to entertain today! Along with the heat I've had a bit of a tummy bug (caught from carols organiser I think).
It was still 40C at 5.30 here, but the temperature has been dropping rapidly since then. In my wisdom I decided to take advantage of the cooler weather to get some of the decorations out of the pantec. It's probably 100 metres from the house with horses and dogs to negotiate so cool weather definitely needed. I also took wheelbarrow loads of stuff that I wanted to put back in storage on the return trips. Got the dizzies so quit before I had everything. Yes, we have over a dozen boxes of decorations! I'm on my second huge glass of cordial trying to replenish my sugar, which is kind of funny since I buy the no sugar added variety! It was that or Coke Zero though.

Heidi, could the calf be one that someone has left for you hoping you would take care of it? Definitely weird stuff, might take DNA analysis to figure out... hehe
Cyn, what are you going to see at the movies?
Laughing here, glad I watched what I was typing. I'm sitting in the dark and touch typing and my right fingers were over a bit so the yn came out um. Um ah!

Rolanda, my mother doesn't do my ironing for me, just nags me to do it. I also had the bottom fall out of a box today and as I wasn't feeling the best decided to wait until it cooled down to pick up all the papers that fell out. You'd think I'd stabbed someone!!
Now it sounds like I don't like my mum. Nothing could be further from the truth. She just has some little foibles and if I vent in here we don't argue....

Suzy, if you have a tummy bug then flat Coke Zero is what you need to drink.
My mother had better sense than to nag me to do something, I would dig my heels in and leave it even longer
If she was so desperate to have it done she should get on and do it. I used to have to do that when I lived at home many years ago.

Suzy - we're going to see 'Planet 51'. I suggested 'Where the wild things are' but not much interest from the kids and a few people I know who've seen it were very disappointed so I didn't push it. I refused to see 'Cloudy with a chance of meatballs' to the kid's disappointment. I would just want to get up and clean the screen - i'm not fussy but spilt food - I cannot cope with.

I refuse to buy coke zero after I read just what it contains. I am quite sure sugar, which is a pure and natural food, is much better for you than all those artificial chemicals.

Liz, Hubby said he would get the pressure washer and clean the stairs, ramp and deck. I hope I can get him to do it soon. Not exactly moss, but a crud that lives and grows in wet, very slippery.
Brenda, not nice that someone changed schedule for Christmas day without asking, after andrew volunteered for day shift. Hope you can get your dinner in early fore he has to leave now.
Lizzy, cranberry juice is often recommended for urinary tract or bladder infections. It changes the acidity of urine to make it an unpleasant p;ace for bacteria to grow.
OH GAIL, i must not know what my pressies are, they need to be a surprise! I never peek, or shake a box, try to not even LOOK at them till time to open. But I am also the first one up and remember waking children back when, so we could start our Christmas.
Broni, I will come and eat the shell fish you cannot eat! Love my shrimp, and eating them on a boat is the best! Do you boil them in seawatter?
Time to post fore going on to read page 24.

Looks like I will have to share Broni's shrimp with June hehehe.
Nola, thanks, the achies have gone, but I did notice I cannot walk as well, only made 10 minute walk yesterday. Seems like I am backing up, but will keep on keeping on, and hope to get back to walking longer at a time, again.
HEIDI, I am hoping the setback is temporary, but but hips were back to hurting when I walked, right one specifically, bummer. Trudging on here.
Nola, not as many are putting up large outdoor displays or even outside lights this year, here also. Neighbors across street up up a tree outside last night, I was soo tickled cause I can see it from my window. then they went in, had dinner and lights out at 6:30 pm. I mean ALL inside and outside lights out, I think they went to bed! But I hear his truck leave about 3:30 or 4 am, guess you have to go to bed with the chickens if you get up that early???
Heidi, not that is most unusual to have a calf and no mom. Did the baby look premature in any way? Could one of the cowl been carrying twins and just delivered one of them, so still looks pregnant? this is a mystery. hope the little one does well. Do let us know.
Rolanda, will the nurses be coming to your Mom at her house, to check on her and help her bathe?
Julie, I did the hot shower massage, you know, the hand held shower spray? That helps a LOT. I have not looked at arm that hit the rail, I imagine that will be a bruise, but soo lucky not worse than it was.
TAMI, 2 more days at school fore the holidays. Do you get two weeks or longer? back to school on Jan 4th?
Gail, sorry you only got 13 drops of rain! Would send you some of ours, but it would all evaporate fore it traveled that far, sorry.
June, I do hope they can send radiation only where it is needed and miss anything else. Glad to know your friend is back home, and hope this continues to go well for her.
Suzy and June, I agree, too hot for you to iron! Hope you get cooler weather soon.
OK, posting this at the end of page 24, on to 25 now!

HEIDI< I think we shold name the new salf Surprise!
Rolanda, it did not take you long to figure what to do now that Mom is home hehehe. I am not surprised it is laundry. Not sure if you wash more clothes than anyone else on the site, or I just remember you talking about it more.
Cyn, I am like you, I was never bored, and we had TV only after i was a teen. We went outside a PLAYED! there were always active games going on with the other children on our street, running, chasing, climbing, active stuff! If there was noone to play with, we always had books, I loved to read, still do!
Ahhh, caught up reading, think I will go back to bed now! Cats woke me, we had a kitty cat emergency, no food in thier bowl. The little piggies ate it all during the night. My kitties cannot tolerate an empty bowl. they let me know, and often will be sitting by the bowl as if they were starving till I fill it, then turn and walk away. " Well, I MIGHT want to eat again shortly" hehehe. My kitties are NOT spoiled.

Our tree is up! Lights but no decorations so far. Three teeny trees are mostly decorated for the girls and Mum. There's going to be a battle over the Night Before Xmas bear again this year! Mum gave it to me a few years ago = you press his foot and he reads the story. The fight will be because although she gave it to me, I have a tug of war with her to get to listen to the story on Xmas Eve!

MizT, a house across from us and down the road a little has a whole lot of outdoor lights and decorations. I love going out to look at it.
Cyn, I saw the printed advert for Planet 51 yesterday 0 little green people! Should be fun.
Brenda, I've had so many arguments with my mother about her telling me what to do, often starting with 'you do remember I'm in my 40s now?' Now I just do what I was going to do anyway and seethe inside, or vent to you guys!
June, I don't drink much soda/fizzy drink at all. It makes me burp!
I wish Susan would send me the laws of physics story again. I can't find it!

Good morning everyone, have about a minute before school. Had to print something so of course I had to stop in and say hello.
Tricia, we do go back on the 4th. 2 weeks is a good break but never seems long enough. I have a lot of the little details to get ready for Mitchell's big day. I promise I will post pictures after the event. I have to organize party favors, write all the little poems, get both boys suits, get Mitchell a haircut!!! Mitchell has decided he wants long hair. I don't mind, after the pictures have all been taken. It is about the same lenght as mine right now. It is getting cut and he can regrow it as long as he wants after January 23. (as long as he gets goods grades and stays out of trouble)
Brenda, my mom also learned, the more she nagged, the less I did.
I will be back tonight.

I'm heading out again in a few to try and figure out who the momma is ... again. The calf is Red Angus... clearly.... and full term. When the Vet preg checked the cows last month, he said that NONE were due to calve before February.
When I found the calf yesterday, it was about 3 hours old. No time for someone to sneak past all my Collies to the pasture behind the house where the cows are. They would also have had to go past the mechanic who was working on my tractor.
That didn't happen. This is a mystery for Sherlock Holmes.

Heidi - what an interesting mystery regarding the Christmas calf...I'm thinking it's a little Christmas miracle! Loved Julie's pick-up on the "Surreal Farm"!

MzT - so great to read your posting - it's just not SA when you aren't around! I love your name for Heidi's new calf. Kitty emergency - boy do I get that one!
Suzy - hope your tummy is better. I hate feeling sick when it's hot outside. Being sick is for bad weather when you can cuddle up inside.
