Becky, it was hard news for everyone to take in. We have all shed some tears. Then we have turned it around and made sure we thank heavens for every day and realise that it is a short time we are here so let's make it as happy and loving as we can.

Pretty good. A little tired. It rained all day and now the temp's dropping.

June, you don't need the TOPPS. We already know how much of a chatterbox you are by the very fact that you are leading the board by a loooong chalk!

Guess I've gotten attached to you lot. Even though we haven't met face-to-face, I feel like I know everyone here.

And I thought that I was going to get it.

I feel exactly the same way Becky. As I said to my hubby when trying to explain my feelings, I almost feel I 'know' you all more than I know my friends. I feel a real kinship with you all. We have been through a lot with each other and I am so grateful we have each other for support when needed.

Friends are friends, no matter how we meet up.

It is amazing how we all feel about one another. I read the news late in the evening and then did not feel like being on the site for a couple of days.

June, I think everyone felt the same. The next day was very quiet and none of us went into chat for a couple of days.
I must admit that it was one of those extremely rare times when I was speechless!

Ladies, hate to love and leave you, but have a few things that need to get done. Will try and stop by later.

What have you got planned for today, June? It's vewy cold here. Later I am going to Fountain Gate to wonder aimlessly around the shops. It's a hard life but somebody's gotta do it!

Hello my dear SA4 friends. Tears in my eyes girls - I feel that I know you all as well as I know my friends that I actually 'see' and meet up with. It appears that we all feel rather the same way. I feel that my life has changed for the better since I joined up here last year. I had been an empty nester for years, working from home, watching my parents fade away and finding when hubby was at work I was rather lonely, if family and friends were busy. Now I get on site and there's always someone to talk to, something interesting to read, someone to share your joys and sorrows. Thank you all!!

CynB, I don't think the chicken in the middle likes the song - I think she's taking it personally....

Somehow I have to get my house up to snuff in 3 days, as well as do the mum thing, and spend time in here. I think the kids will be being told to stand in a corner and to not dirty ANYTHING that I've already cleaned until AFTER their Nana arrives.

Right now they are painting. Does that sound like a 7 year old who's Mum will recognise this post?????

Good morning all! I'm at my mom's house and it is quiet at the moment so I thought I would check in here. I had the most wonderful surprise Friday evening. Hubby picked up Max from school and they were making a few stops on the way home for things we needed this weekend. They called and wanted to go out to dinner at the Outback, but I said no. I was in sweats, no makeup and it was a tough day hearing about Lynda. So they picked up some Outback as takeout. I was in the kitchen and I heard the car pull up. I just barely glanced over to the door when it opened and saw red hair starting to come through. For a second I thought it was Max, but then I stood there frozen. It was my oldest daughter Meghan who was supposed to be at Boston College getting ready for her finals!!! They said they've never seen a look like I had on my face. I was so shocked. She took the train from Boston to Albany and Hubby picked her up there. What normally is a 3 hour drive, took 5 1/2 hours on the train because of the stops it makes. I still can't believe she came home! So instead of only having one of the 4 kids here for my birthday, 3 are here!! That's the best birthday present of all!!

Thank you all for the birthday wishes! They really mean a lot to me! I feel like you guys are my true friends!

Sounds as if you had a lovely surprise with your daughter turning up unexpectedly and to top it all you got 'Outback' take out!!

Stella - what a wonderful surprise!! Your family must be very close for your daughter to travel 5.5 hours by train, during finals prep, to come home for your birthday! It says a lot about what kind of Mum you are too....

Gail - how was your shopping trip? Did you wander aimlessly or did you buy yourself a mother's day present? Always a good idea! I did this year - hubby is very busy and if I left the buying to him I would probably end up a rushed trip to the shops, coming home with something very expensive, very nice, but also not very useful... I like useful these days.

MizT - I have a picture in my mind of you leaping 3 feet into the air with arms thrashing around, kungfu like sounds coming out of your mouth, and a sleek 5 pound kitty dashing out of the room, slipping and sliding in its haste to get away.... Hope all claws were retracted...

Brenda - did you go through withdrawal for those 40 hours? I haven't been able to get to the computer as much lately - assignments apparently come before Sudoku, hmmph - that's why the serial posting... catching up with everything!
