Stella, well, I actually looked at one may pole from that vantage point, underneath it! I was 6 years old! My school had a huge May Day celebration, to raise funds for something.

Can you imagine how long it takes to teach a bunch of first graders to weave over and under as they go around a May Pole??

This afternoon I'll be bringing Meghan down to the train station to go back to Boston. They don't have a train running though, just a bus, which is strange. It's still supposed to take 5 1/2 hours. Hopefully, it will be shorter!

I'm having a wonderful time going around visiting everybody that dropped in on my birthday and I've been yabbering on far too much and checking up on all their new photos and at this rate I should be finished by christmas!!

Hubby is now up and I must make him some brealfast. Have a good Maen, all! I shall be back later and I did enjoy the chat so much!

That was the first time Meghan was on a train. Then last night, we dropped Brendan off at the train "station" (no station, just a platform and a ticket machine) in Flushing, Queens, (which was an experience in and of itself) to catch a train to NYC and then switch trains in Penn Station to catch a train to New Jersey to the town his college is in. He had never been on a train either. He made it ok though. Wasn't sure he was on the right train to NJ at first, but then he heard his town announced. It saved us the trouble, time and expense of driving through New York City to bring him back to school after his game. We didn't get home until 10:30. We were all beat!

Bean, I know what you mean. I don't think I will have time to visit everyone's pages today since Meghan is still here. But after that, I'll start.

Stella - how old are are Brendan and Meghan?
I remember after I'd left home there was nothing I enjoyed more than blowing in when she least expected me..the look on her face will be with me for ever..

Just back from visiting Sue from OK..she has some wonderful photos of flowers on her page and I got quite sidetracked.

Meghan will be 20 next month and Brendan is 18, will be 19 in August. It was good practice for them since Meghan is going to Cairo this summer to study and Brendan is going to Italy with his college soccer team.

I got sidetracked as well. Brooke White, the latest contestant kicked off of American Idol was on the morning show, "Regis and Kelly" and I was watching her. I liked her because she was different.

Weather is wonderful here is Stevenage into the 20C sunshining. Hubby and I are trying to get our junkroom sorry garage cleared out. We seem top collect so much stuff in there and most end up going to the tip.

I'm going to go and do a little gardening for a while, got to get my hanging baskets and pots ready for planting

Beautiful weather today inspired me to plant some flowers...now my yard is looking very spiffy and I'm well pleased with myself....now if I can just get to that ironing basket.....oh well...

When I was just turned 18 I left home to go to University - not as common here as in the States, most live at home if they can. It's mostly only the country folk who have to leave home. Luckily I had relatives in Sydney so had been taking trains (with mum and family) every now and then when we visited them. I lived in an apartment in Randwick so had to take two buses to get to Sydney Uni, which is in the city. I could have taken a bus, train, then bus too. Totally different world to my country town! Most of the time, though, I took my motorbike. Much quicker than public transport... Sorry, reminiscing....

Speaking of motorbikes, we are talking about buying one. Only a step-through, prob 100CC. I have warned everyone that they will want a bigger one fairly quickly, and that it won't happen!

I'm still here Mamacita, but shouldn't be, have to wake d1 for school. She might not be going though. She has a mild stomach bug and missed yesterday. I figure I will get her up and see how she is. She has exams and stuff at the moment so wants to go. Poor baby only seems to get sick at exam time!
