Anyone around? I may have missed you all.
Time for bed anyhow.
Yesterday hubby came home and said he has been given two weeks notice.
After 20 years as a mechanic at the Toyota Dealership here they are putting him off.

What a time for this to happen, he has a birthday on Dec.12th and coming up to Christmas.
Oh well, that's the way the cookie crumbles I guess.
He is the 4th person they have put off but the first from the workshop.
Busy day for me here, have delivered most of my Avon orders.

Hope you Qld girls do not get too wild a storm.
We had a severe thunderstorm warning with hail issued this arvo but it did not eventuate.
Batten down the hatches CynB, Broni and anyone else up that way.
It is very humid here.

Viv, what are the chances of him getting another job? If car sales are down due to economy I am sure there will be a higher demand for good mechanics. I do understand how awful it must be for you both. You will have to keep up your good work with Avon!
I went to a talk the other day about always finding the positives, even at bad times, and laugh as much as possible. Not always easy, as I know at the moment, but do try to find them.

Hi June
Well I hope he has a good chance June as he does know a lot of guys in the trade.
But they are putting them off everywhere here.
Things have never been this bad in the 20 years he has been with Toyota.
Yes you are right about finding the positives, but sometimes it is extremely difficult to keep up this positive attitude as you say.
It does not help that we are going through a particularly rough patch relationship wise at the moment.
Never mind, I shall keep going.

I had a break in my deliveries today and had coffee and crosswords with John and Jane.
I did have to deliver Avon to Jane and one of the ladies that is a waitress there anyhow lol
I am so pleased to have met these two people.
We all get enjoyment out of our meetings.

You couldn't have spoken wiser words June.
I couldn't agree more...luckily that is one thing I have always been able to do...find the silver lining to the black cloud and also be able to find the humour in any situation....[just as well with the degree of adversity I have faced over the last decade]

Good friends with big hearts, big arms and good ears,[with the ability to listen without passing judgement], are also a blessing. That is exactly what we have here in SA. With support we can cope with almost anything...

Rain and some wind here, but not enough to even bring branches down, leaves yes, branches, no!

Viv I am sorry to hear you are going thru a rough patch...I am an expert at relationship hiccups.....how to not let it get you down is the tricky bit. No matter how much one stresses or succumbs to bleak despondency try to remember that it will all sort its self out in time...just may not be how you had planned or expected. [who knows - it may even be better.]

Sometimes when it is to hard to be positive it is enough to just 'BE'...neither positive or negative. Go watch the waves and let it all wash over you. Let your mind and heart be still as you reflect on what small cogs we all are in such a big, big world. And how amazing it is that we have all found each other.....

Have I ever told you how much I love all you guys - your generosity, the humour, the caring and the support that is always there when we need it.

LIZ, congrats on the weight loss.

Brenda, good for you also, keep it up girls.

My sister is a weight watchers leader and has been for over 10 years. she is now semi retired, doing only 2 rather large traditional meetings ( at centers, as opposed to at works). I know a bit about weight watchers, first used their program back in the 70's. still make the weight watchers key lime pie for Al for desert.

Ruby and Tami, what subjects did/do you teach. i can't remember if I asked.

I thought I was caught up, but you added another page while I slept.

Are the storms gone? storms in the dark are the ones I do not like. anyone want a geodesic dome? Safe in a storm. I fugure if we can get enough Aussies to buy a dome, we can just come with a container of plans, lumber and tools, rent a shop and stay awhile!

June, yes you have! been an inspirtion, for sure. I want to be like June when I grow up!

VIV, need some sand paper? for the rough patches? Look, if I can go from contemplating hubbycide to such a happy camper in one week, well, anything is possible. And Gail, I was not THAT happy, gee, we are OLD and I am still under the weather. and I would not be having trouble sleeping hehehe.

Tami, how horrible for you to find your van that way. I will never understand why people do senseless things. I hope it is repaired quickly! Hugs!

Heidi, great to hear that the pigeons have been found! Good luck with the auction!

Viv, so sorry to hear about your hubby's job. I can't imagine going through that after 20 years with the company. Hope he finds something he wants to do soon!

Ian told me his foot was feeling better after I wrapped it yesterday morning. He decided to play in the game. Even though he didn't play alot, it was a big mistake. He thought if he just took it easy and played a little, it would be ok. Unfortunately, there's no such thing as taking it easy in a game. The ball of his foot was swollen and he could barely walk. I'm beginning to think it is more than just bruised like the doctor thought.

Stella, daughter #3 got great results with core plan. My sister counts point. D3 does not cook, and still made her goal, on fast food and take out. Portion control is the name of the game. you can do online if you are a good self started, but most of the general population does well with meedings. It is more of a commitment i think.

OK, going to work on some more photos for my page. Huumm, forgot how to shirnk them, did my hottie one come out fine> it ws too large on my screen.
