I just saw the title of a news story that reminded me of something... When I was looking for something to put on Ally's burst blister, I picked up samples of several things that were available and took them to the pharmacist for her opinion. One of them was mercurochrome. I have memories of being coated in the stuff as a child. The pharmacist suggested it shouldn't even be on the shelf because of the mercury in it! Why did it never occur to me that mercurochrome contained mercury???

Yikes Suzy, I was always jealous of kids that got mercurochromed! I don't think my Mum used it - I guess I should be thanking her!

Just saw the time!!! How did that happen?? Have to go and wash the paint off (me), do the dishes I played on the computer instead of doing, and get out of the house in 50 minutes... do you think I can do it?

I think the last time I used Mercurochrome was a couple of months ago. Finished off the bottle, which was only a few years old. They still sell it here in Kentucky.

Hello Heidi! How are all the calves going?

They all seem to be doing great, even though the one black heifer is determined to drive her mother crazy. She keeps playing Hide and Seek.

She's still just a baby isn't she? But she has a mind of her own! Is there something she wants on the other side, or is she just contrary. Or stupid? ;)

Good Night Friends, time for me to turn in. Tonight I shall leave computer in the sleep mode. Last night I turned it off, Cat was unhappy and decided to sleep with me, ON me rather, and that was the start of a sleepless night for me. OK, so I waste a bit of electricity leaving computer in sleep mode instead of off, but I get to sleep. I think that is a good trade off. I would just put cat outside except it is cold out tonight, cannot do that to the fur baby! She is sound asleep up on the computer tower now. My cats are not spoiled, nope, not a bit hehehe

Congrats, Heidi, on the twins and your new cubic zirconia front teeth. Oh, my, CRAFT's strikes again. I'm off to bed. Alarm is set for 3:30 a.m. and must be out of the house by 4:30. Judy, I remember they were talking about ant problems on easy a few days ago and talcum powder was suggested. Also cornflour. You must have to put it down on their trails and they take it back to the nest and does significant damage in some way. Apparently it works!

Thanks Gail! I knew it was some kind of flour someone suggested, but couldn't find the post again. Think I'll try that, as it sounds fairly environmentally friendly. Guess I should wait to see if the other stuff works, but I'm starting to go CRAZY here! If I sit still for too long they try to carry me away!! And I'm not exaggerating here ... much.

Hi SA7. Have just flung Apricot Chicken together for the evening meal. I should have made it a BBQ I think as it is so so humid here and my kitchen is already hot enough.
Another Severe Thunderstorm Warning current for us here, hope it does not come to anything.
Had an Avon sales meeting this morning, but had another headache so came home and went to bed.

Too busy trying to work out how to organise tomorrow. Hubby has to leave by 6.30 for a training course, Ally has to be at school by 7 for a school camp, Ebob..... well nothing important there - just her birthday!

Is everyone going to be away for her birthday? Will that upset her, or please her?

She's a bit disappointed Judy but is being very adult about it. We're going to do cake with all of us later tonight, and Ally will give her a present then. The morning is going to be insane, though I will be back from dropping Ally off in time to see her before she goes to school. School friends are planning to bring a cake for her. I have rearranged my tutoring for after school and will take her for an evil iced chocolate (packed with cream and icecream and lots of empty calories). When hubby gets home later we will do the gift exchange - a major break with tradition, but the best we can do. On Saturday she is going to take at least 5 friends to lunch - no parents or sisters (other than being close by so we can pay for it).

Have to go, time to take Ebob to gym....

Hi SA7, jumping in without reading the other pages, good to see Gail is still safe. Judy, yes it was talcum powder for the ants. Zusy if hubby has to leave by 6:30 can he not take Ally and drop her off on the way?...or are they going in different directions?

Went to the dentist yesterday and was a blithering idiot, I hate dentists... is that a word we should spell backwards? tsitned??? hehe!
Losing one tooth next Monday then he is talking about three crowns just on one side eeeek! gotta check what my health fund they will cover as it will be over $4K. Have a very sore jaw today because the ones that broke he filed back without any painkillers. OK that is my whinge for the day.

Still have not read the posts but had to tell you about the funniest thing I saw today.
Was at the post office collecting the mail and a workmans ute pulled up just as I was leaving with a full grown Basset in the back, never ever seen that before hehe!

Now on a brighter note!!!!!!
Keith from CA and Lynne are coming to Ozland from early April to early May and will be in my neck of the woods early May. PARTY PARTY PARTY!!!

It is quite exciting having Keith and Lynne. I am organising a BBQ for them on Good Friday.

I have tried the talc powder on the ants getting into the cat food (After I had read the post on easy). I had a feeling that they do not like walking through the powder. Anyway they seem to have gone away fairly quickly.
