I am going to say good night early. I am still tired from a long weekend. I drove 10 hours friday to get to Atlanta. I ended up leaving Saturday evening and driving 2 1/2 hours, stayed at a hotel and then drove the rest home sunday. It was a long weekend, but worth it. It was just Mitchell and I, so I had to do all the driving (although he did offer)

Way too much driving for me too! I think my maximum alone driving time was about 7 hours... actually I can't remember exactly how long it took. I drove to and from Bathurst. It was a long way that much I do remember!

Judy, hope you are not suffering too much from the smoke. It looks smoky here. Smoke has travelled this far from Victoria before so I wouldn't be surprised if that wasn't happening today. I guess it would be a good idea to check the local fire data though.

Painting is done for the day. Time for dishes and other every day stuff. If Judy is still here I will stay for a while though...

Just picked a dozen roses from my garden, now in a vase on the coffee table in the family room.. smells devine !!

Still here Suzy, though I should be doing some sort of cleaning... My kitchen is full of ants again - even more than before! Rob put down poison thingies, that they're supposed to take back to their nests. He says Just leave the ants to eat the poison... but they're driving me crazy! It's ant party-time! AAaaaargh!

Rolanda, some cute photos just went by... Ebob holding Ally when she first came home from the hospital, and Ally 'using the computer' and 'reading'. She looks about 9 months old. I'm trying to find the folder so I can see if any of the photos have a date on them - it depends which camera was used.

Both my cherubs are just getting up !!

Both are home today. So no Empty House today !!

Mind you #2 has a Uni class to go to this afternoon, for a hour or two.
The other is home, studying and working on his project for Uni.
Project you ask ?? Well, obviously to do with his Computer Engineering/Computer Science Degree he is studying, (this is his final and 6th year at Uni).

Rolanda - can hardly remember rain! There's a cool breeze today, but not many clouds. A while ago I would have said It's a beautiful day! Now we just want it to rain...

and of course all my baby cherubs photos, and others are all real photos, and not on the pooter..
only had the digital camera a couple of years.

Judy, I use Ant Rid. It only works the first year I buy it, and you have to put up with ants feasting on it for a couple of days. They don't come back for months though. I think your hubby is right, unfortunately.

Judy, not much rain here either really.
A few drops I would have missed if I had blinked, in the last few weeks.
Time will tell how much 'rain' we get in the next couple of days.
At least the long weekend coming the weather is looking quite respectable.. 32/33C.

am camping in the Caravan with friends.
We have been away on this long weekend in years past where it has been OTT HOT ie 43C !!

hate Ants!! When down in Albany, had to wipe the bench constantly, keep things as airtight as possible to keep them out of the Caravan..

Judy, as soon as the photo was taken, the darling #1 let his arm hang down.
good thing Grandma was holding on to the baby at the same time.
He was fine with the baby, and anyone holding him, as long as it wasnt me. Then we would perform and carry on, which is when Grandma took him home.
Once Baby and I was home, he was fine.

Rolanda, back in the day we used to send our films off for developing to a place who returned both hard copies and a 3.5" floppies with a digital copy. Hubby also had a digital camera long before everyone else had them, but way after he wanted to buy one (I refused to let him buy one until the resolution improved and the cost went down - they were $US1700 when he first started agitating for one)

I laughed too Rolanda - that 'other' site, just to confuse things...

Judy - I've always thought that ants in the house meant that rain (and good rain) was coming - at least that what happens here. Hope that's the way it goes for you Victorians. Fingers crossed!

Hi Suzy! Yes, we've got about four thingies of Ant-Rid laid down and the ants are just loving it! They're having a party and they've invited all their friends!

Hubby has gone again I enjoy having the house to myself occasionally.

Judy, they do don't they!! You go from about 50 ants to 500 for a while - it's disgusting!

I found the photos on the hard drive - saved directly under C, weird, why would I do that??

In the process I found out there are 32,510 pictures on my hard drive.... ummmm

CynB that usually seems to be the case, but since the really hot weather a few weeks ago we've had ants everywhere and not a sign of rain - I think they're just looking for moisture anywhere they can get it.

That other page is dastardly! I just noticed that a young girl I know (19yo) has just changed her status from single...

Judy, I once heard that if you have black ants then you don't have termites. That could be the good news??

Rolanda, the first time Adam held baby Rachel (and he wasn't too happy about her anyway!) she started to cry, and he got such a fright he just stood up and she went straight onto the floor (luckily there was a rug!) I don't think he ever held her again!
