The Royal Agricultral Society runs the show here in Perth.. http://www.perthroyalshow.com.au/raswa/about/
The Royal Agricultural Society Of Western Australia (The RAS) is a not-for-profit apolitical organisation based in Perth, WA. With the support of its members,The RAS's role is to promote the significance of rural Western Australia and the state's primary industries.

Working to help 'bridge the gap' between city and country WA, the Society's activities are focused on showcasing the many and varied achievements of rural Western Australia. Since the founding of the Society in 1831, RAS has successfully encouraged and assisted the development of Western Australian resources - including agricultural, horticultural, viticultural, industrial, rural, technological, commercial and mineral resources.

Operating under the Royal Agricultural Society Act, the Society plays a key role in Agricultural Shows and rural events around the State. The RAS is also responsible for the organisation and management of Western Australia's largest annual community event, the Perth Royal Show. Like no other event, the Perth Royal Show is a show for the people

I haven't been to one in a while, but my favourite bits have always been the fruit & veg and animal pavilions....

My lawn mower is looking morosely over the back fence again. Her mother will be here soon to take her coat off which will probably cheer her up. I have gone out to her a few times for a cheer-up chat.

Rolanda, I live too far away from Sydney to volunteer. I'd love to visit though. Every year I think 'we'll go next year' but so far haven't made it.

I am usually too busy, or tired to go and 'look' at the show when I am there..
Always was the Cash Supervisor many years ago.. back in the days of the 'Food Hall', where we served breakfast, lunch and dinner.
We have moved to a kiosk type premises, so it is now a cafe - sandwiches, pies, chips, etc..

everybody...
Heidi...what a relief to have a diagnosis..not that I am surprised by it...I am just surprised it took them so long to do an appropriate blood test to diagnose it. Maybe they thought you were a little long in the tooth for 'kissing disease'...

Suzy...would love to see a photo of your mowing lady in action...giggling at the thought of you going out for a chat... Child free...yay..your next job is supporting membership and to grab yourself some smilies....

Gail is very brave...such an exhausting undertaking...a trip to the show!

Have missed you around the place Rola

It's good of you to help, Rolanda, but unless you make a point of taking some time for yourself, you'll be allowed to volunteer for the YMCA (a fine institution) for the entire run of the event.

Rudy is doing well. I miss him, but this is all for the best. I'm feeling a bit better myself lately. Allergy season is bearing down, so this might be the calm before the storm.
