Tami, glad you got the all clear.

Heidi, Alie got in quickly because she's still covered by our insurance. Dana left school and moved out of home so has to rely on national health, which is brilliant because it means she gets health care, but the waiting lists can be horrendous.

Morning all. Coffee is ready, help yourself.

Suzy, glad that surgery went well. Hope Alie is not in too much pain once everything wears off.

Suzy, yes, the flooding was very disruptive. No activities in the Commons until Wednesday at 3 pm first time, and they had Chapel services there then. Had announced earlier it would be up on my hall, in the Community room for this building. That is where we play scrabble Wednesday 2-4, so we found another place for us to meet. There is a nice sunroom/elevator lobby on each floor of our building, and each floor is furnished differently with donated furniture. Fourth floor has 3 tables with wicker chairs and sofas. We used one of those tables. Had a few people pass through going to apartments on that floor, but not many. It was a bit warm the last hour after sun came out, our rain actually went away for a while.

Suzy, I hope you can share a photo of what Alie is working on. It sounds most interesting and the fact that she is working on a piece that is for sale, instead of just practice stuff is most impressive, WTG Alie!

JUNE, it does not seem like two years for your loss, I hope most of the memories going through your head were good ones bringing you comfort. I am f=sorry the cold is causing achies. For my hands, I have a paraffin dip that works well, that long lasting warmth really loosens up the joints. I also have a 'muff' that has beads inside, can warm in microwave and put both hands inside. It is easier to use, the paraffin warmth lasts longer though takes longer to warm up, and clean up after. Would something like that be available there?

TAMI, congrats on the 'all clear' from your doc.

Theresa, hope you got lots of outside things done and enjoyed your cooler weather.

NOLA, just how big are seeds from your palm trees?? Cost of power for heat must be prohibitive there. Not many people I know would resist turning on heat and use blankets to keep warm, not people here in the south where electricity has historically been very cheap. Now my daughter who used oil heat keeps her house what I consider COLD, until her doc told her she is staying all muscles very tense because of the cold, and that is causing her pain, turn the heat UP. She is in Connecticut where they have colder winters than we do.

Let me post fore this gets any longer, more later, hugs to each of you with extras.

Your flooding problems sound awful, MizT. I'm glad that you don't have a first floor apartment.

Heidi, there are no first floor apartments in either building. first floor of building one are offices, and public rooms, the maintenance shop and such. My building, building 2, the first floor is parking, we are build elevated over a parking area. I am glad no one is living on first floor also. Bad enough there are so many people having water in living rooms. I am not only one. they are saying it is from AC units, but why would so many AC units all clustered together have problems same time? To much to be a coincidence in my opinion.

My floor is now dry. Industrial fan over night did the trick. Today I hear someone with something sounds like a reciprocating saw working near by. Close enough things took a tumble off my shelf in the bathroom from the vibrations. Never a dull minute around here.

Looking back, I do not see that I told you about my trip to urgent care. I have red itchy splotchy skin, driving me mad. I would not call it a rash cause no raised bumps. On my side and top of thighs. First doc thought was shingles, but said to widespread, does not follow one nerve path, and shingles is usually blisters. I would have been happier if she had said shingles is ALWAYS blisters

Must be allergic reaction to something, and I got steroid shot and dose pack. Don't know if Aussies are familiar with that, but 21 tabs of steroids, take 6 day one, then 5 day two, 4 day three and so on. It has helped, but still not gone. Seems to get better then worse. wearing clothes is not fun, it gets worse where clothes touch on that side. I am day 3 into wearing gowns only here at home. Dressed for doc and scrabble yesterday, but back into comfy soon as I got home. Just do not feel well along with this, lots of naps, especially before time for meds again when it seems to get worse. OH WELL. tomorrow I will need to go back if not better, as instructed.

Time for one of those naps now, hugs to each of you, with extras.

You have my sympathy, MizT. It sounds awful.

I haven't been feeling well today. Achy, nauseous. I think it's the Lurgi, so I'm spending the day in bed sleeping.

Good Morning my friends,
Have finished the books for the truck company I work for(first time ever they have their accounts in on time), now just have to finish the books for my friend.
Do read and think of you all but little time to respond.
Off to take Bella for a walk then back to the books.
Luv and Hugs,
Broni and Bella

THE AUSSIE DUNNY POEM
Only those who have used an outside toilet would appreciate this.

The service station trade was slow
The owner sat around,
With sharpened knife and cedar stick
Piled shavings on the ground.

No modern facilities had they there,
The log across the rill
Led to a shack, marked His and Hers
That sat against the hill.

'Where is the ladies lavatory, sir?'
The owner leaning back,
Said not a word but whittled on,
And nodded toward the shack.

With quickened step she entered there
But only stayed a minute,
Until she screamed, just like a snake
Or spider might be in it.

With startled look and beet red face
She bounded through the door,
And headed quickly for the car
Just like three Sheila's did before.

She missed the foot bridge - jumped the stream
The owner gave a shout,
As her silk stockings, down at her knees
Caught on a acacia sprout.

She tripped and fell - got up, and then
In obvious disgust,
Ran to the car, stepped on the gas,
And faded in the dust.

Of course we all desired to know
What made the gals all do
The things they did, and then we found
The whittling owner knew.

A speaking system he'd devised
To make the thing complete,
He tied a speaker on the wall
Beneath the toilet seat.

He'd wait until the gals got set
And then the devilish tike,
Would stop his whittling long enough,
To speak into the mike.

And as she sat, a voice below

Struck terror, fright and fear,'Will you please use the other hole, We're painting under here!'

Afternoon all,
MizT, your 'rash' sounds horrendous! I hope they can do something for you!

Broni, congrats on getting the books done on time. I bet you made your bosses happy! ewww! That was a rotten way to break up his day!!

This morning Alie said the pain was no worse than before the surgery, but as the day wore on she felt it more and more so took some acetominophen. She has the forte kind (codeine) but didn't need it.

Three days work over! Yay! Love the money, but I'm glad it's the weekend.

Funny poem, Broni. Thanks for sharing it.

Feeling a little better today. Not as feverish. But I woke with the back screaming at me. So I'm just sitting here waiting for the pain meds to kick in fully before getting the horses up. We're doing hoof trims at 3 pm.

A bit cool this morning. I think we might have a light frost. Still dark and I am not going outside to check.
MizT, I do hope that rash clears up soon. Sounds painful.
Suzy, enjoy your weekend. Hope Alie's operation was successful.
We had an interesting day on Thursday. We went to the airport to see BA's new Boing 777 plane. We sat in the seats we will have in two weeks time (Premium economy). We were then able to try the seats and beds in second and first class. I think from our seats to second class is about another $3,000 each.
Lots to get done before we leave!!

I may have a late night. My friend Debbie (who cares for the animals for me when I'm out of town) has been having serious problems with a pack of stray dogs every night. She can't afford the Vet bills from the pack attacking her pets at night. The rest of the neighborhood is having problems with them, too. They've talked to the animal control officer (dog warden) and he's useless. So I'm planning in sitting out in her back yard tonight with my gun and having a go at them. They tend to come by her place just before 2 am every night.

Evening friends. Raash is better today, not near as itchy, but still very visible. Meds are making me nauseous, but luckily I have something on hand for that. I think I forgot to eat dinner fore taking them.

I did get dressed today and out for a bit. I had to meet with one of the staff for renewal of my lease. My rent goes up by $16, I was afraid it might be more than that, cause my income went up a bit with the monthly payments I receive from the sale of property.

We also had an ice cream party, make your own sundae. It was fun, I enjoyed. Lots of fruit and healthy toppings on offer. I also found the book I had been reading but misplaced last Wednesday. You can tell I was unwell, if I did without a book a whole 48 hours hehehe. I had left it in car when I came home from doc office Wednesday.

I found out I am one of many who has water problems, she told me I was 'on the water list' a list 2 pages in length. I found water again this morning, although a much smaller amount. I will put a fan on over night, should dry it up. It has int increased today. Still no idea where water is getting into building. Both HUD and the property management firm will be sending engineers to look into both our water problems, our leaks into the building from above, and the flooding we get both from behind and in front of the building. OH, we will be getting a new roof on our building also, that might help some of the problem, but me, here on second floor, getting water from above 6th floor? Water does strange things.

OK, time for bed now, I did read but too sleepy to comment on posts. should have done that first maybe?

Heidi, maybe you could borrow a goat to lure the wild dogs .
I have travelled business class and slept in a bed. We were upgraded twice when Ken had a Gold frequent flyer card. It is lovely on those long flights. Travelled many times in cattle class and managed to get some sleep. Premium economy has more leg room, foot rest and the seats go back a bit further. It is 8 1/2 hours to Singapore, then 14 hours to London, 2 hours then before the 3 1/2 hours to Istanbul. I think I will be exhausted!

I have LOTS to get done in the next two weeks, including a birthday cake for Laura.
Today I have ben doing a bit of this and a bit of that. Typical me and then nothing really gets finished. I bought a mat to put in the computer room as the chairs are ruining the carpet. I have tried to put it in today but I cannot get it under the computer desks. I have also pulled a cord out from Ken's computer and not sure where it came from. I hope he knows!
Back to work!

Quick drop in.

Glad your rash feels a little better MizT.

Tami, enjoy your kid free night.

stupid phone is deleting the first word on each line. It's a pain trying to get it back in again.

I took Alie down to get new games for her coloured lenses. I told her afterwards that my father had frames just like the ones she chose.

I took Tahli for a little walk around the mall whole Dana did some shopping. She decided she would like to play on Thomas the tank engine and had a ball, until it was time to go. She started screaming and didn't stop until we left the mall and she knew it was to late.

Hi everyone. I had another attack yesterday of whatever this is, the bad stomach cramps etc. etc. I rang up the doctors and said I am coming in now you can fit me in. I had a needle to stop the cramping and then went and had a blood test for coeliac. I will get the results back Monday morning. Will be interesting if it is that or not.

Good advise. A lot of short posts make it easier to repeat the lost one. I would hate to lose a long post. (Knock on wood), I never have, yet.

Gotta go now. We're getting ready to work the cattle. We just have to deworm calves, treat a cow with an abscessed jaw (chronic), sort out the bull and sort out 5 2012 Fall calves to wean and sell. And it's raining lightly. Drat.
