Greetings, Fellow Sudokuaholics!

Great TOPP, CynB! It kind of goes with your comment to Heidi. It's about managing stress levels. Enjoy the little things; don't worry about the things over which you have no control. I think many or even most of us should follow that advice.

My goal is to get to bed earlier than usual, so I'm about to turn off the computer. Sending lots and lots of {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, positive thoughts, , healing vibes and prayers for everyone!

Laura had a great party. Everyone loved the cake!
My fish are back in the pond. I have packed away my sewing machines. Tonight I am tired so will do the kitchen, water and mulch the garden and pack my case in the morning. Also have to do the washing. I can leave it in the sunroom and it will be brought into the house proper later in the week.

Off to the RV dealership. I need to pick up my horse/livestock trailer so I can take 5 weaned calves to the sale barn tomorrow. I have no idea when the RV will be repaired. They still haven't found the problem with the generator. I will be proposing to them, today, the suggestion to replace the generator if they can't fix it, so I can actually use my RV occasionally. This has taken too long.

i've got the trailer back home. I need to clean some of the horse stuff out of it (hay feeder and buckets) so I can haul the cattle tomorrow. I have let the service people at the dealership know that I'm starting to get annoyed at the wait. I bought an RV that they assured me was in perfect working order, and it's spent almost all it's time since then in the repair shop. If this continues much longer, we may have to have a talk about lemon laws in Kentucky.

HEIDI, just what I was thinking, replace the generator. THEN they can take months to fiddle with the old one and can sell it or use it in another RV. You have been more than patient, so you go girl. Good luck in getting calves loaded and to sell barn. Hope it is an easy load up with them, and you get top dollar for your beef!

June, good to hear the birthday cake was a hit. You are still doing so much, we are gonna have to strap you into an airplane seat to get you to rest hehehe.

Guess what? I am now the proud owner of a 7 inch android tablet, the Jellybean. It arrived at Joy's house yesterday. She has charged it for me, and is supposed to being it over tonight. I am so looking forward to it. I thought I wanted a Kindle, found this for less, and immediately thought of all the things I can do with the PC part of it. Take it to scrabble, and use the dictionary. Take it to garden planning meetings, share information and photos of plants. I can take it to book club and access discussion questions for the book we are reading. I can load some of the hours , days, weeks of music Al has on his computer, take it downstairs where have parties, and put on music to share. Well, that after I learn how to access the audiovisual hookups. Gee, how did I ever live without it? It is so nice that our building is wifi, even though some areas are better than others for reception. I am gonna have FUN!!

I am nlooking for a 'ATTAGIRL' here. I have never downloaded any program for my computer. Al always did that. He is the one who had to repair them if I goofed, so just easier to let him do it. My big strong hero who kept my computer running.

Yesterday I started hunting places for free e books, signed up for daily e mail with selections in the genres and the application (Kindle, Nook and many others I do not know) I chose. bookbub.com if you are interested. First suggestion on first day was something I thought interesting. These 'deals' of cheap and FREE books do not last long, this one expires tomorrow. Not wanting to miss it, I decided to download a kindle app for my computer, just as a place to store it. Text Joy and asked if she could repair anything i did wrong, and she assured me she could, told me to go for it. Kindle is now on my PC, the app brought with it 3 older no longer copy writed books, and two NEW books I downloaded. I started reading this one sitting here on the computer, and I do recommend it. 'Tendrils of Life' set in pre WW11 Korea. I have never read anything from that part of the world, very interesting.

Tricia....Attagirl#2 coming atcha... and Theresa...you must be in my computer to think of me with that link you gave Tricia...I have it bookmarked...lots of good stuff there and you don't pay top dollar.
Tricia...I use all of the available free deals that come along...they have allowed me to read many books that I never would have discovered by using these free or very low cost choices that are offered for selection...enjoy...perhaps we'll share some...but do check out everything offered.
Heidi..I'm thinking perhaps your willingness to be patient was being taken advantage of also...glad you have let them know enough is enough and it's now time to poop or get off the pot ...about as nice as I can say it here...he he.Good luck with expected results...
June...Go have some fun! Glad the party for Laura was the beginning of lots of good things ahead for all of you.
Suzy...you stay on my mind...hoping things are going well for all.
Cyn...so glad that Col is learning how to de-stress...both of you keep it up and follow your own very good advice as Julie suggest.
Take care all and please know how much I care...Peace.

OOOPS, make that 3 new books now

I found a light romance that sounded interesting. I am not a Harlequin Romance reader, I want a book with more pages, more plot, more story than those. And if possible, about a different area of the world, or different occupations of the characters. Even light reading can add to my store of unnecessary facts hehehe.

I am still sick with the angioedema mess. Face looks horrible! lips swollen , tongue stings, throat is sore, and upper respiratory parts swollen. At times it feels like sucking in air through a straw instead of a garden hose. Know what Al put up with the last months of his life.
I am now using benadryl as one would use a rescue inhaler. It comes and goes, it would be a lot better if I could take asult doses of this stuff. I am bumping up the dose of Claratin now, that is the long acting one I will probably be on long term.

It is much cooler outside tonight. I went out to water flowers. I am finding more and more people who would be interested in working with the garden committee next year. One came over and got some house plants I have rooted. I collected seed from the mounding zenias I bought recently, perhaps we can use some of those in the garden next year.

Spaghetti sauce simmering on the stove. pasta is cooking, I am ready for dinner. I had ice cream, 2 helpings, for lunch today. we had an ice cream party today sponsored by our residents association. Enjoyed it much.

I was in the process of making a nice dinner. ... I was marinading a chicken in italian dressing to roast it.... cutting up a fresh zucchini to steam it... and had made some grape jello with blueberries..... and IH walked in and announced he was going out to dinner with friends in 15 minutes. I just love his lack of consideration.

Hi, Everyone!

A big ATTAGIRL for MizT! I'm another one who is basically technologically illiterate. Oh, I can use the computer, but don't download, etc. We don't bank via the internet, etc. I just do what's comfortable for me. I hope you get much pleasure from your new Jellybean. (I haven't heard of it, but it certainly sounds versatile!)

June, I hope you and Ken have a fabulous trip! I'm glad Laura's birthday party went well and the cake was a hit. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Laura! So sorry that your washing machine has given up! Good for you that your suitcase comes in under the weight limit (and has been packed with clean clothes). So glad the washing machine hung in until you got to the towels!

Heidi, IH's inconsiderateness is legendary here; we're not all that surprised. At least you have a nice meal for yourself. Save any left-overs for you some other day - and don't make anything for IH. Yep, I think you have been patient enough with the RV dealership! It's time for them to replace the generator!

Hi to Suzy! I hope Alie's recovery from surgery is going very well! How is Dana doing? Remember to take care of yourself!

Mama, are you still enjoying some solitude? Seems you know of good sites for free or inexpensive e-books, too! I have not yet read a book on the computer. (But then, I don't seem to have much time to read books, and it's easier to tote the real thing if I want to keep a book handy to read in the occasional free moment.

Theresa, I hope things have improved with your MIL and FIL! Take care of yourself - and your 4-legged furry children. I hope all is well!

I'm thinking of getting to bed earlier tonight. I'm tired - and have something causing intermittent pain in my left mid-back. It kind of feels like I was sitting too long in direct line with an air conditioning vent. Hopefully a good night's sleep will help. (Hopefully I'll be able to get a good night's sleep.)

Please help yourself to the abundance of positive thoughts, healing vibes, , {{{{{HUGS}}}}} and prayers I'm sending your way!

Heidi, bacon and Ice cream seems like something a pregnant woman would be craving hehehe.

Cant get to sleep tonight drats. Had another bit of breathing trouble, but meds cleared it up soon. now meds are saying, oh, lets stay up and see what we can do.

JUNE, happy trip, easy flight making all connections with time to spare. To bad the washer pitched in the towel. Could your daughter sort out the dirty towels for you?

Julie, I do think the Jellybean will be very useful for me. It is just a mini computer that has 2 built in cameras. It will do skype and facetime along with all the other stuff I mentioned. It also has ANGRY BIRDS alreafy installed, not that I am going to play that game. Being small, it will be easy to take with me and read from the screen, It is about the size of a paperback book.

Heidi, I was married to and lived with a computer geek, some of the info just rubs off.

Maybe a shower will help. Back pain is back, the cortisone is wearing off, bummer.

At Singapore airport while plane refueling.
It is our 50th anniversary in October and I got my present from Ken early. As a surprise he upgraded our seats to business class. A lovely bed to sleep in. So far I have had 45 minutes sleep and watched two movies. The next leg is about 14 hours so that is when I want to get the most sleep.
I was totally blown away with the surprise and did not realise till we got to our seats!

I need to get my rear in gear. I HAVE to mow the lawn, then at 3 pm, we load up the weaned calves and I take them to the stockyard. It's nearly 12 now, and it takes 2 hours to mow each lawn. I'm only mowing around the house today.

My day has gotten really bad. I took the calves to the sale barn with no problem, but once I got there, I noticed that I had 2 trailer tires low on air. First chance I got, I pulled over and put air in them. It didn't help. BOTH got blowouts on the way home.... the second as I turned into my driveway. I now have to replace 2 expensive trailer tires.
Also, as we were loading up the calves, my new cell phone fell out of my pocket. Where, I don't know. We searched everywhere. IH and his assistant both kept calling my number, but we didn't hear it ring anywhere I had been. So I will have to buy yet ANOTHER cell phone. I'm annoyed, because I just finished loading the phone numbers of everybody I might need to call in it.

June - what a delightful Anniversary present! That is a ghastly trip in cattle class, what a joy to be able to stretch out and relax or sleep.
Heidi - because Col is up and down out of his truck and on top of the trailer tying/untying etc, his mobile phone is always at risk of being dropped. In recent years he has had cases that attach to his belt (or waistband) to keep the phone safe. He has one for his iPhone now but had a different case for his older type Nokia phone.

I found a stick on clip to put on back of my phone. I can clip it to a belt, or clip it to inside of my pocket. I often wear it in my shoulder, clipped to the neck of my shirt and on to my bra strap underneath the shirt. It really helps. That stick on is really sticky, it is NOT coming un glued. I found the clip at Radio Shack.

Just back from Jazz in the Park. It came a downpour just 30 minuets before the show, in fact rained for 45 minutes. We waited up in the elevator lobby on 8th floor for it to end. I was a bit worried about another rain, my chair should not get wet, the controls or the electric motor underneath it. Also, the ground was gonna be soggy, chair might get stuck. No need to worry, we all decided we could hear nicely from the balcony. We could see from behind the stage, looking over the crowd. Wind was strong and lovely, very cool. Nibbles were good, conversation better. I really enjoyed myself.

Getting very sleepy, I am off to bed. Hugs to everyone, with extras.

Heidi, that's bad and good luck about the phone. They are fair little beggars when they get lost - especially if the battery is flat!

Cyn, count me in for any time to meet up with Rolanda and Peter. I'll just put it in my diary and everything else can change around it.

MizT, it sounds like you have a really wonderful place to live with lots of activities and friends around to keep you busy.

Broni, the end of the financial year is a crazy time for those of us who do book work. I'm just about back on track again at work. Now I just need to do some tax returns at home.

Suzy, I hope you are enjoying this block of teaching. It sounds like you are being tested by the kids but putting them back in their place nicely. Good on you!

Hi everyone else! Mama, Rolanda, Nola, June, Brenda, Viv, Bean, Julie, Theresa and Tami. Sorry, if I missed anyone else, my mind has gone blank.

Very very busy at home. Hubby has retired but seems to be at everyone's beck and call. He started out with a week in bed with a virus and then had an implant so more bed time. His mother has been calling him umpteen times a day. He finally put in the new taps we bought for the bathroom after I had a hissy fit about nothing happening at home....it was ok to play computer games all day and half the night though.

My mothers neighbour Joan is a bit older than mum. Joan's beautiful, wonderful, delightful family have decided that Joan can no longer live on her own and are selling her house and moving her into a retirement village. Mum has decided that she can't live there any longer if Joan isn't living next door so she has signed up to buy/lease a unit in a retirement village nearer to me. Yahoo!!!!!!! I really thought it would never happen. Not only that but we have listed her house for sale so everything is happening at the moment.

Mum has just had a cataract removed from one eye and the other is due to be done on 1st October. My niece is getting married on 27th September. My sister has just had an operation to remove a tooth that had grown into her jaw. I need to speak to her to see how she is getting along. My younger brother has just returned from Bali so will be involved in organising Mum's move. My older brother comes down and does the nursing when Mum has her operations so it's a family affair where she is concerned. My niece has also been taking Mum to doctors appointments etc.
Maybe I could leave the state for a few months and let them organise her move.....it's only wishful thinking but it sounds lovely.

Anyhow, life goes on and by the end of October it should have reverted back to some type of normality.

It sounds like a busy time for your family, Vicki, but in a good way. I bet you're all gonna be relieved at your mother going to a retirement village. Just look at how MizT's life has improved from her move to one. She has a lot more things to do, and is much closer to help if she needs it. And she sounds so much happier.

Losing (and finding) the phone didn't bother me anywhere as much as having the 2 tires blow out and shred. Those tires will have to be special ordered, and will delay me going back to Florida for my horses. I'm just crossing my fingers that the rims weren't damaged. If they were, I may be looking at a $1,600.00 repair bill. I maxed myself out buying that RV, and don't have the money. It'll be hard enough replacing the 8 ply trailer tires.

Heidi, I know the trailer tires are a big money problem for you at the moment, but have you considered what it would be like if they had blew on your trip to Florida? Perhaps even when you had Sere and both her offspring? I will keep my fingers, toes and eyes crossed that the rims are fine.

I am up for meds, I woke exactly 4 hours after last Benadryl. I was starting to itch.

Earlier tonight, when dressing for the outing, my chest above bra line and upper back were breaking out again. I used that super cream, and rash is much better. I am so glad I have meds that help, but I am so tired of depending on meds, having to take so much. WHEN will this end????

'night all!

MizT - I used to put my phone in my bra too, until someone pointed out it possibly wasn't good for my health! Anyway, now I have an iPhone, it's too big to go there unnoticed. Now I never hear my phone if I'm out and it's in my handbag.
Vicki - yes, just keep 20th Oct free and we'll fine tune where and when closer to the day depending on what suits all, including yourself.
What a relief to have your mother agree to move to a retirement place. But, all the work involved in getting her there and disposing of years of memories and possessions in her home will not be fun. We did things in this order - offered what M&D didn't want or need to the family, had a garage sale, gave to neighbours, donated to charity shops - the rest went into a massive skip! (they had lived there for 30 years).

Greetings to Everyone!

Heidi, you had a great idea to refrigerate the dinner ingredients for another day. I must admit that the dinner you substituted for yourself sounds yummy!

MizT, I hope all of your health issues can be sorted out soon!

June, what a great 50th wedding anniversary present! Your flights should be infinitely more comfortable!

Heidi, your day would have been full enough without any frustrations. It's too bad your cell phone was lost, but good that it was found! What a bummer about the trailer tires! Hopefully the rims are undamaged. I hope the tires can be ordered and are on a special sale. Do they come with a warranty?

MizT, what a great way for you to see Jazz in the Park! The unfortunate rain became the catalyst for an enjoyable (and dry) afternoon!

Vicki, your plate is certainly full - and likely to stay that way for a while. {{{HUGS}}} as you try to gain some control over much of it!

The sandman has come knocking, and I'm beginning to sleep at the computer, so Good Night from here. May all of your days be blessed. Sending {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, , prayers, healing vibes and positive thoughts for everyone!

Good Afternoon All,
I thought I had posted before, but I don't see one since the one giving Trica high fives so her downloading experiences.
Heidi, glad the dogs found your phone and didn't chew it...but I do understand how the blown out tires and possibly bent rims would be of more concern...fingers crossed for the best outcome, but agree with Tricia...as bad as it is, It could have been worse timing.
Vicki...boy your plate is really full, but the things filling it are mostly good and I'm sure that makes it easier...but sending thoughts and prayers to keep you going in the face of so much and hope your Mom's move and all that it entails goes well. Smart lady, your mom, making her own choice of time and place also makes it easier on you guys...so a win-win situation all around.
June, What a thoughtful gift from Ken and its presentation had to have been an added blessing after all you had been through getting this trip off of the ground!!! Good man you have there...and we all like that. Happy Anniversary celebrations need some extras thrown in ..keeps the romance alive. .
Julie, here's hoping you had a great night's sleep and were able to get in the bed at least a little earlier than usual, and are now well rested. If not, keep trying.
We just registered Angelique to start her formal education...She will be going to kindergarten on September 3rd. Of course she's a bit nervous and excited, but has a buddy who lives a few doors away who will also be starting school with her, so it will be less scary. It seems that it doesn't matter that she has gone to pre-school...but this is now 'the big time stuff', so it's the real deal.
Nothing much of anything else is going on...still reading lots of great books and enjoying them...Have a great day/night where you hang your hats. Peace.

Good news!!! I just got a call from the RV dealership. THEY FOUND THE PROBLEM WITH THE GENERATOR!!!! Easy to fix, too. But while they were testing it, 2 gaskets blew. They had to order replacements, and they won't be in for a week. Hopefully, by that time I'll have the trailer operational again.
Yes, I was VERY fortunate that the blowouts didn't occur when I had animals in the trailer, and even more fortunate that it didn't happen in Florida with the horses aboard. Now, when I go down there next week, I'll feel much more confident in the tires.
