Hi Liz, great to see you on Saturday. Thanks to you and Bean, I have been able to fix my computer problem. It wasn't in paint but you made think outside the square! The problem was that I had been cropping some old photos some time back and it seems I had exited the programme without turning cropping off! I revisited each old photo, turned crop on then off and BINGO! problem solved. Wouldn't have done it without you making me think.

Hi Liz

it was great to chat with you the other night. Hope we can do so more often. I told mum about the conversation, that both you and Michelle have roots in the Netherlands, and that we 3 just randomly found ourselves chatting together. She sometimes plays on the site, but has not joined. Zipping around your photos, I must conclude that you have lived an interesting life here in Oz.

Hope to "speak" to you soon, Martha :)

Hi Liz, thanks for the ideas. We're having belly dancers next week!! But I love the FOTZ idea i didn't realise that they did in-house. Did you know you can get outreach resource boxes from the museum with some great themes - dance hall days, toys for yesteryear, recipes for remembering and a few more. They come in a great big box and are very interactive and i think including return postage cost about $37.00 - 40.00. I worked at Regis Shelton Manor and currently working for Prime Life in Mckinnon. Gone from high care to low care - still trying to work out which I prefer. Hope the coffee goes well and will try to make the next time. thanks liz. Will pass on any other ideas.

Hi Liz, no i never got to the dt workshops, they hadn't started when i was working there. I would have liked to go to the 2 day convention but the cost is a problem. never mind. My birthday is the 23rd - it's the 50 and I'm having my very first fairy party. Looking forward to a real blast - have you ever heard of the song "nobody loves a fairy when she's fifty (40, 30)" well i'm out to prove them wrong!!

Hi to you, Liz!

It's fun to visit people's pages - now I imply that you are a Virgo as you just had a birthday in September, right? Me, too, the 9th. Much to my amazement I reached Medicare age, and have been soooo delighted (read: horrified) with how our system screws everything up in this country! I just wonder how less educated older folks deal with this stuff. I was at a meeting for two days and came back to find I had received a second government-issued Medicare card - with the wrong i.d. number (social security number) so they've now sent me someone else's card and I get to go sit in line for an hour tomorrow to return it to the local office and explain it to them! Weird and scarey!

Basta (enough). I call my home Casa Giovanna sometimes - it's like naming a restaurant or something. If I wanted to actually say "my house" it would be "la mia casa" (or in reference for emphasis "casa mia" - jokingly you could just say "casa Elisabetta" - the Italian spelling for Elizabeth. That's really thoughtful that you would like to know a few words to make the people feel more comfortable. Buon giorno is like hello (it's "good day") but when you are familiar with folks you can just say "ciao" coming and going. Anytime you'd like to know something in Italian - if it's relatively simple! - I would be happy to help you. Going to close before I reach a word limit for the message (if there is one) - I tend to "talk" too much on line.

Ciao ciao (bye bye) per ora (for now)!

Hey, it's me again! I forgot to say that I am intrigued by you being Dutch - I have a number of Dutch friends who I met in the Italian WorkCamp (we do restoration in Southern Italy as volunteers) where I ended up running classes for five years for a Virginia University (in fresco restoration and in archeology), we have stayed close friends for about eleven years. One is my "daughter" (I seem to acquire "children" in different activities I do - it's great since I never had any of my own, and I can share others, never having to diaper them, pay for their clothes or send them to school - perfect!) Marieke is 30 now, so these "kids" aren't babies. But I am planning to visit the Netherlands this year to see where they live (and to revisit the Van Goghs in Amsterdam!). Our WorkCamp attracts a lot of Dutch folks of all ages through Travel Active.

I have tried to learn some Dutch but find it quite difficult. But you guys seem to acquire other languages very readily - I am impressed! My French is slipping away from me and I am afraid I have a terrible accent now, and my Italian is being affected by regional accents and dialects, but I keep trying to maintain these languages! They do allow me to understand a lot of Spanish which is increasing here in the States - but many versions of Spanish, so it's not easy to sort out.

Basta - must dress and "seize the day" - and another beauty it is!

Liz, thanks for the link to the Staircase to Heaven (or some sites are calling it "Staircase to the Moon") -- I love it! I finally found a few more photos, but the one you sent was the most gorgeous! I love the look of the moon on the water -- they call that a "moon grove," I believe. Add the reflection of those flats at low tide and you have stairs and that is just SO charming.
I looked up your resort too -- looks like a wonderful vacation you have planned. Australia is an amazing country. I love it! Thanks for all the inspiration!
