Sorry to hear about the accident too, and happy as well that she wasn't hurt. Cars can be repaired or replaced. In some ways, having had an accident may help her become a better driver..often young folks think accidents only happen to others, even when they are fairly mature drivers. They seem tobecome more centered onthe act of driving.....

It was nice to see Chrissy, Judy and Ian join the SA site. This does seem to be the quasi chatroom , certainly much chatting takes place.

Good afternoon all! Just got home from the shopping expedition and survived, somewhat! Now I have to run D#1 up to the Dave Matthews concert. She gets in for free because she worked there for three years. I think she misses seeing all of the concerts every night. Good evening all! Getting S#1's birthday presents together so he can have them before he leaves for college on Friday. It seems to be a big weekend all around - wedding, 21st b'day and a good shove out the door! Then heading to my mom's because it would have been their 60th anniversary this weekend.

Quiet this evening! Watching the finales of America's Got Talent, the ventriloquist was amazing, and The Lot, the shorts (films)were unusual. I haven't been watching either of these shows but nothing is on and I'm exhausted.

Hi Stella...I too found myself watching the talent(?) show...I thought the ventriloquist was quite good. Yes, my avatar is of my youngest grandbaby,Kristine. She is now a big girl of five...growing up, but I enjoy this age of innocence shown in the avatar..one way of keeping them babies...lol

Not a whole lot. We had a nice time on the coast in July, got to see my brothers and sisters. It's been a few years.

HI JULIE! Today was not wonderful, not at actual temp 104, but it was tolerable.

Oh I know you must have enjoyed the visit with your siblings, Rena. Do they live there? or did everyone just meet there for vacation?

it is getting HOTTER instead of cooling down, Julie. Hottest day this summer so far. I hope it can stay the hottest day!

1 brother and 1 sister live there. 1 sister lives in New Zealand and 1 brother lives in Toronto. Sis in NZ came for a visit so we all got together.

when tomorrow's high goes over 100, will tie the longest spell of 100+ actual temp days, at 8, but this time we had about 7 previous days then the feels like temp was way over 100, I think they should count that also, don't you? I just know it has been the hottest two weeks I have ever felt.

Rena, no wonder you made certain to get together then, if sister came all the way from NZ. I imagine that is not something she does often. Now just how did your sister migrate to NZ?

MizT, I'm sorry to hear that heat hasn't abated. I agree in hoping today was the hottest and temps had back to the double digits.

Rena, how nice that all your sibs could get together! I can't imagine getting mine together from that distance. We're no more than about 3 hours apart. Last year I spent the better part of 3 months trying to find a weekend when everyone was available (total of 6 sibs). This year I started trying in June - and still nothing.

That's way too hot for me, MizT.

JULIE, my BIL is from a large family. they set ONE DAY as 'homecomming' day and it stays that same weekend, first weekend in June. Everyone knows not to plan anything else for that weekend. there were 12 children, and now with children and grandchildren and a few great grandchildren ( BIL is next to the youngest ) they have almost 80 families!

It can be hard to get everyone together. I can't remember the last time we were all together. Probably over 20 years ago.

Well, hubby has come in from his office, I should go and chat with him a few before bedtime, Catch you all later.
