Hello June. how is the sewing going ??

Rola thanks for the reminder. They are shows we watch as well and Hubby out and I had forgotten. Yes it is now commercial break.
I have had Laura all day and should be making patterns to start sewing. Guess it will be a busy day tomorrow. It is always the cutting out I hate.

As you can see, yesterday I brought my chair into the new room. I had difficulty finding someone to move it! We keep changing rooms around here it is hard to keep up! but chair and coffee in same spot today, I shall sit and sip a while and enjoy the morning while it is COOL. YEP, hot and hotter, but not so much humidity, so it could be worse!! and I do have AC in my whole house, even if it struggles to keep up around 4 pm! I was talking to daughter in CT, and they had a few days of high 90's and 90% humidity, in Connecticut, and they have only Air con in the bedroom. Want to keep a 4 year old in one room all day??


104 actual temp yesterday and same forecast for today. AT nine of actual temps above 100, this sets a record of consecutive days that hot, and if you coult the ' feels like' 100 readings of the week before, it is DAY FIFTEEN! Again they forecast maybe back to high 90's by the weekend, but I will believe it when I feel it!

same here June, hate the laying out of the pattern and the cutting of....do enjoy the sewing part.

MizT, it is the hottest summer you can remember. It certainly seems like its an extra hot, extra humid one.

GAIL, I remember hot weather, yes, but usually a break fore this. We do have about 6 weeks of what I usually call our 90/90 weather, heat and humidity both in the 90's, and I hibernate, but never living in fear that my AC cannot cope like this year!

I do think as I get older, I tolerate the humidity less and less. luckily yesterday with our record highs, the humidity was low and it was not as bad as it could have been, thank goodness for small favors!

Maybe soon the weather will break and you good folks and get a break from my repetitive weather reports. I could DO something so I have something to chat about other than weather hehehe.

I think I shall take my coffee to the porch and watch the sun rise now. I have my roast cooking while kitchen is cool, so dinner is under control. Tonight can be cold meat, too hot for hot meals. I shall gently warm the cabbage and carrots and potatoes I am cooking with the pork roast.

dinner is already here to be served. except only me at home to eat it, the cherubs have not come home yet, and Hubby wont be home till after 8 tonight !!
anyone want a plate of chicken casserole with brown rice and steamed vegetables...

Good morning all! Looks like it will be a nice day. A little cool here this morning but it is supposed to warm up to 80. We take the car over to the repair shop this morning for the estimate.

Well Rola you gave me a boost so I have now made a pattern. I was given one tank top with some pins in. 'I want two the size of the top, so many as wide as where the pins are, so many 3 inches shorter, etc. It is stretch material and as they are only Tank topsthey should work out...except I never quite trust my daughters measurements!!! She teaches ART not sewing or anything practical. She also hates sewing and only uses her machine for mending horse rugs when I objected to using my expensive machine to mend them. (Helped her get an inexpensive second hand machine)
MizTricia you are certainly having some hot weather. I know what those temperature can be like. We had a heatwave like that back in 1968 in Melbourne when I came out of hospital with a new baby. No AC back then so used wet sheets and a small fan to keep the temp. down.

HI STELLA, sorry I missed you. I was out in the shop looking for my extension cord, was going to do some weed eating, WRONG. My extension cord is not where it shold be, nor any place I have looked. By the time hubby is ready to get up ( he worked in office till late last night) it will be to hot, so, there goes a nice cool morning down the drain. I really wonder what happened to my extension cord?? Yes, I have electric string trimmer, cause I cannot hold or crank one of those smelly, noisy gasoline things!

June, have fun sewing upteen tops !!! at least they should be easy to sew together..

JUNE, I have a spritz bottle to mist myself and my space down, it works this time cause the humidity is so much lower than normal! Al just shakes his head, when I stand in front of a fan, and spritz the air comming at me, makes for a nice even distribution of the mist though heheheh, and the over spray dampens the carpet, the fan blows over that and cooler air! this is besides the air conditioning running HI, just not designed for this much heat! Ya do what you gotta to cool down.

We have friends in Airozona, and they cool the outside patio with misters, so they can sit outside! Misters running will cool temps by about 25 degrees, when humidity is low. They told me, and I could not imagine, when they got out of swimming pool, they had to put on a robe, even in 100 degree weather. Air so dry and thirsty, would evaporate the water from body so quickly, you would feel COLD, oh my!

Stella, did you get son's school supplies? Did he decide to let you know what he needed?? AND how did you manage with all 4 sprouts shopping?

HI GAIL! your TV programs finished now? TV at the moment here is all reruns, not much for watching. I have seen the ancient tombs of Egypt and all about the pharoes on the history channel till they are reruns only now also! Hubby even started watching DOG FIGHTS , aeroplanes. Now I could not get interested in those, you KNOW the guy narating his old fights won, hehehe. The computer graphics programs they use to generate the video was kind of cool, the first time. NOw when he turns on one of those, I go to the computer!

Good night Rola and Gail! Sleep well! It doesn't look good for the car. Even though she was not going fast enough to cause the airbag to deploy, it seems the front may have gotten shifted. If they deem it totaled, which is hard to believe (they don't make cars like they used to), then we are in big trouble. We won't get what it is worth to us and certainly not enough to get another car.

Stella ...So sorry about the car...it always happens at the worst times...but its only the car..count the blessings! Hope all are well and the weather is better where you are at the moment...hot but low humidity for the last few days here.....so nice summer weather weather....hope to chat with some of you in the near future...meanwhile...Peace!

Hi Rola! Are you getting last minute stuff ready for the big party? Brendan still hasn't started to pack and I have given up. We were supposed to go out to dinner tonight (a very rare occasion in our house) as a bon voyage, but he is not ready so we can't go out. Arrgghh!

Morning Rola, How is the party preperations going? it is getting closer and closer, such a party this is going to be. We fully expect photos, you know, and for them to be posted by Sunday!!
