Hi all! Still having computer woes, so I have to make this short, else it shuts down on it's own. Things here are going just fine. I managed to join Mamacita on the 2 pound weight gain. I am now really looking forward to the warmer weather we are having. I am outside often with the kids, running around and playing ALOT of softball in the yard. Hoping that this is just a case of eating wrong. Have to get back to eating salad's for lunch. It has now been 3 years since I decided to get healthy and I am much better than I have been. Total weight loss to date is 45 pounds. I am thinking of you all!!!! Take care, I care.

pleased to hear that Houpette is a little better, as the weather picks up I am sure you will get back to the walking and losing weight again. maybe change up some of the exercises you are doing to something a little different to shock your body into action again.
Lauren
thank you for the ongoing encouragement and sharing of my transformation.

OK time for a pep talk
It is just 2 months till my BIG birthday and some have fallen off the healthy eating, exercise and fitness band wagon.
Time to climb back on and have a red hot go for the next 2 months so that we can see some 'new' photos of the participants posted here on site.
I know that I will not have lost ALL my weight by then BUT am hoping that I will be well on the way to getting there.
SO
lets re commit
to living and eating healthy .....
time to post how you are all going with healthy eating, fitness and exercise and giving up all those temptations that are NOT good for us.
cheers to you all

Weigh in report for week 16: I was a slacker this week, skipped exercising several days and had some beer to drink. End result, I gained a pound. It is so much easier to drift than it is to stay on the straight and narrow. Ah well, back to the grind this week.

rosemary, I've noticed too that not too many people post here regularly any more. I guess it was to be expected, but I wish they'd come back as well.

I managed to lose 1/2 lb of the 2 1/2 lbs that I had gained over the last two weeks. I'm back into the exercise on a fairly regular basis, and Jazz and I have been walking at least a mile a day....the problem is that I've been really busy and eating in a hectic fashion. Unhealthy and overly generous amts of foods and not enough water. I'll get the food and water thing back under control in a week or so, only to be hit in the face with a series of family birthdays and celebrations through June. I don't think I'll make my hoped for goal by my birthday, but I will continue working at it and by the end of the year I will have made it, or just become healthier by embracing a better lifestyle! Either way, its a win win situation. Continued good luck to all of us in embracing better health!

Hi Everyone! My computer is still on the fritz. Poor thing should have been buried at sea about 10 years ago. It's still running......and so am I. I am starting to get outside nearly day now, either for walks or bike rides. I didn't really realize how out of shape I am until trying to haul my boys in the bike trailer. I only made it around the block once! And I said to myself, 'Self, that isn't good!' My weight has been on a roller coaster of little ups and downs. I guess I am just going to be happy that the ups are little. In the meantime, I try to keep up with all of you. Stay on track, keep up with the exercise programs, remember all the little hints and helpers that were posted on the first couple pages, and I'll check back in as soon as I can!
I'm proud of all of you! Take Care, I Care.

Weigh in report for week 17: no change this week ... which is better than gaining a pound, I guess. Apparently, back to the grind didn't exactly happen. I was away from home the last 4 days of the week, and eating restaurant food a lot, but I am getting better at ordering smart. I did get back to no beer this week, and that's good.

I've been so busy at the contest that I forgot to post my week 17 results! I did however remember to weigh myself. I have managed to lose all of the 2 1/2 lbs that I had regained while on vacation, but I am back to the plateau weight of weeks ago. I'll do well if I can keep it here during the next two months, and then restart my loss engines again. My walking continues as does the gym, but now family birthdays and gettogethers will have me indulging in food and drink that have made me reach this point of still needing to lose at least 5 lbs, and better to go for 10, but I'll concentrate on maintaining, because life is too short not to have fun....within reason of course. Continued cheers for all of our commitment and perseverance.

Thanks Emels. Well into second million now, but have worn out another pair of trekking boots. The new ones aren't quite so comfortable but they will wear in (and out)
I have got back to the lowest weight so it is all systems go again and hopefully the plateau will no more have my company.
I am flying to London for the Great British Bash and to visit my sister so it would be nice to be as slim and fit as I can get.
Well done Mamacita you are an inspiration to us all. I bet your girls are proud of you ( and Sully of course)
Rosemary, you are doing so well 12 kgs gone forever that is wonderful. I would like to be able to say that before my trip - only 4 kgs to go!!

Hey All. Just a super quick update, using a friends computer again. Got my own page, though I don't know how often I'll get there. I have lost one more pound, but with the way my weight fluctuates, I'm not getting excited. Now, everyone who is on that plateau....Hold your breath, and jump off!! Keep up the great work!

Angie Girl....and everyone else.... I'm holding onto the plateau by my fingernails...I can't breathe...it might change any moment. Jumping off right now is impossible! Too many good things happening...too much fun and not a whole lot of time in the big picture to enjoy...so I'll cheat awhile and then regroup and try to do better. Cheers to all...you drink water...I'll see if that's the best choice right now. ( Really it is the best choice, but this is my cheating time...so I'll see.)

Weigh in report for week 19 ... ouch. Getting on the scale was a rude awakening after a wonderful trip, I gained 9 pounds ... just had way too much fun at the food trough on the cruise. I suspected it was going to happen, but didn't think it was going to be this bad. Oh well, got to turn it back around now.

Keith, glad you had a blast and have returned safely, even if a little heavier than you left...but I have faith in your desire to turn it around, setbacks happen. As for me, I continue to do a lot of walking, and eating right, I haven't gotten on the scales or gone to the gym simply because of a crazy schedule...that will change and I intend to do as Rosemary has suggested...enjoy myself, but use caution and continued exercise. I salute the rest of you for doing well...keep it up.

Horror of horrors - my scales say I have GAINED 1 kg. I have been playing golf all weekend and had a lot of exercise, but, of course, this is followed by wining and dining and I have not been sensible. So from this morning I am back to sensible eating. Saying that I have two lunch dates this week. Is there no hope for me? I must do something or all the new smaller clothes will begin to 'shrink' on me!
I can NOT be fatter for the Great British Bash in 3 weeks time.

Weigh in report for week 20, I lost 6 of the 9 pounds I'd gained on the trip, so, I'm definitely back going in the right direction. Apparently all those gourmet chefs care more about what tastes good than about what's healthy.

Thanks for being understanding all. This is soooo hard, as GrannieMo has just discovered as well. You let up just the least little bit on yourself and it starts heading in the wrong direction. Gaining is so much easier than losing. It's just not fair.

Weigh in Week 20
sorry missed posting yesterday, really busy and not feeling overly well. (just virus)
added 0.5kg this week
so total loss back to 12.5 kg
Keith
you have done really well to get 6 pounds off so quickly. at least that gives you the incentive to get going again.
cant agree more, gaining is so easily done .... I have no idea why other than I dont feel very well and didnt ride the exercise bike friday and only did 5 klms on it on saturday.
anyway
cheers
water of course.

Keith, super job of losing those 6 lbs...that's hard to do. Rosemary, hope you are feeling better soon,..the virus adds stress, thus weight gain happens easily. Still not weighting myself, but am doing okay with the food, but know that I will have to pay the piper if I relax too much. Jazz and I are still walking, but haven't been able to get to the gym...soon as things settle down...I;ll regroup. GannieMo, its hard but you will be okay for the British bash if you are careful from here on out. You know Steve won't let you hear the end of it if the clothes start shrinking already. Sully is giving out the occasional smart crack about my absence at the gym, but I'll make him eat those words! Hang in there one and all! I raise my glass to you!
