Well done Mamacita and Keith. I think we will all get there where ever there is for each of us and at our own speed.
I only managed 6289 steps today as we had freezing rain all day and now it is snowing. Also Houpette my dog appears unwell. If no better in the morning we'll be off to the vet. She just wants to sleep.

Morning everybody, 7:40 a.m. Tues., feeling better already, I was up early (don't ask me why) so had a few minutes before I had to get in the shower so I did 10 minutes on the treadmill, good start to a good day I hope!

Congratulations to all of you! Making major changes in your lifestyle is HARD! I'm proud to know ya'!!

Houpette is much better today, thank you all for enquiring I think she may have had something in her ear.
She doesn't seem to mind the snowy weather. She has a little burberry type plaid coat and I go out dressed like the abominable snowman (only my coat is bright yellow). Only 6000 steps today plus 1000 for exercises done indoors.
I reintroduced some carbs today in the shape of oatcakes and roasted parsnips. So had better get these newly found muscles moving again tomorrow.

OK, I'll try again. I said -
Sneaking in here still feeling bad. My scales show a 3kg gain since Christmas eve. BUT... I went to my nutritionist in Sydney yesterday, and her scales show a 5kg loss since end of November. It must be true because I am getting lots of comments at work about looking thinner. and - the ultimate confirmation - Mr P just commented on my work shirt being much looser! (He is not known for noticing things!)
Billy  From Perth
CP - a 5kg loss is HUGE!!! how on earth can you possibly be feeling bad??? No 'sneaking' is allowed either - always keep your head up and be proud of your achievements no matter what!!

Another morning started with treadmill and over 1000 steps and I am still in my jammies sorry for that visual image!

Don't know if it is helping but I feel better about my efforts, guess I will find out on Friday when I weigh in.

Cheers, Decaf coffee this morning!

CP well done.
Keep up the good work LK.
I find the more I do the easier it becomes, and what is wrong with jammies?

I found another way to increase my steps is to avoid the drive-thru services. Today I had to run a couple of errands for the boss so instead of going to the drive up mail box, I parked at the end of the lot and went inside to mail it, and didn't go to the drive up bank, parked and went in. Might not have been a lot of steps, but more than a drive up!

It is sleeting outside and Houpettes last walk tonight was freezing. Only 6500 steps today plus 1000 worth of indoor exercise. Don't think there will be much golf tomorrow.
Thats good LK every little helps.

Everyone seems to be in good shape now. CP getting sexy again, Jammie girl working out before and after work, and during work...weigh to go! Great job everyone. I'm doing my share to keep the scales moving downward, and must leave now because Jazz is telling me its time for our evening walk. He is so enjoying this, but this may well be the last night outside listening to the weather forcast. Cheers all!

André, Two very important parts to your comments. The piece of chocolate was small AND MOST IMPOTANTLY, YOU ENJOYED IT! In life we must control what we eat and the amount that we eat if we are to either lose or maintain a certain amount of weight, That being said, we also have a need to enjoy what we eat, embrace it, relish it....thats what often gets us into trouble. Enjoyment coupled with control however, is helpful in staving off the boredom of changing lifestyles that have us restricting those fatting foods that we had indulged ourselves with, when we seek a healthier lifestyle. Offtimes, those with the best intentions of losing weight will restrict food intake to a point where the body may feel its being starved, so that the body defeats our loss by holding onto the fat, hence, a treat now and then can help us to lose weight. This removes the guilt! Enjoy....with caution.

hope you enjoyed it and a small amount is better than a binge from denying a craving.

Have been out to a musical evening, supper etc; had only salad and meat and water. 25 days now no alcohol, wheat, dairy and sugar(except for the marzipan). Only 7231 steps today have now walked 219,337 of my target 250,000 steps and have 5 days left for the challenge so hope to make it.
No more snow here but the temperature outside is currently minus 2°C and dropping.

Way to go MO! What an inspiration you are, and very discplined. You will make your goal of 250,000 steps, I just know you will

CP, I am having broiled fish and steamed vegies tonight also! Love broiled fish, would rather have a baked potato (jacket potato) but the vegies are great with lots of butter ( )

Well I off to take a lap around the church!

Fish & Chip night here fridays also but went for grilled fish and had to have some chips. Had quite a reasonable walk after it though. Bit tired as it has been a long week. Major weekend here in town this week too so busy working all weekend.
You are all doing fantastic, keep up the great work.

Just over 7000 steps today. Ithought of you all today when I chickened out of a second walk this afternoon but with the wind chill it was just too cold. Hopefully I will get a few more in tomorrow. I also ate quite a few peanuts.
You all sound to be getting into the walking and water, . Weight U Go
Judy  From San Diego
Since so many of you are using pedometers ...

Recently, I strapped on a step counter and went for a walk with my mother.

''What's that?'' she asked.

''An exercise tool that keeps track of your steps,'' I said. ''I'm hoping it'll help me lose weight.''

Clearly unconvinced, she asked, ''Wouldn't it work better if it counted your bites?''

you are doing fantastic and I am sure you will reach that target of steps.
A few peanuts wont hurt, I have a handful of unsalted ones as a snack to stop the hunger pangs occasionally.

1/27/07 in the USA. We are fast approaching the end of our first month and all seem to be going in the right direction, some of us for the first time. My doctor was very pleased with the changes as well. I feel better and I think all of us deserve a pat on the back. Thanks to each one of you for the support and efforts taken to gain that support by the hard work put forth. If we were able to get here this month what with the extreme heat, cold, snow, ice and wind many of us faced....We can reach our goals, one lb at a time! Weigh you go!

That is fantastic Mama .... nice to get a great report from the doctor.
It is the support of you all that keeps me going, as I hate to disappoint those that are helping out.
the buzz from all of you is so uplifting.
There is a lot to say for group support to be successful, but this way we are doing it the way we want to and not paying a bean to do so. It is the great support of all our cyber friends and extended family that helps us through.

to those that are struggling ...
it is a step at a time, a day at a time, put all the pieces into place then the weight loss will take care of itself and the new fit and healthy you will emerge.
cheers
water of course

10185 steps today. First time in a while I've topped the 10,000. I second both Mamacita and Rosemary. I know I feel better and fitter, so I'm sure everyone else does.
The first months results look good and as long as we all realise that things will level out now and accept this we'll be fine.
I for one don't want to go down those sizes too fast. I have clothes of all sizes in my closet that need to be worn as I pass through their sizes. Some of them have hung there for many a year and it will be nice to spend some time in their company again! I'm sure they are all back in fashion now!!!!!

13281 steps today. Keyed them into my 250,000 challenge - what do I find - my total 249,825 just 175 steps tomorrow and I've done my quarter million with 2 days to spare. Weigh in in the morning, fingers crossed

Rosemary - we are obviously following the same rules either side if this planet because I too have lost 0.5Kg total gone 6.1 Kg in 4 weeks.
Weight U Go.
I also took measurements this morning and a total of 10cms(4inches) gone from my waist and 16cms(6 1/4inches) from my hips. No wonder my clothes are starting to feel comfortable.
My other achievement this morning is I have passed the 250,000 steps mark 2 days short of the month challenge so I'm heading out towards the million.

It's just amazing to watch everyone's progress! The determination, discipline, focus and support/encouragement for each other...it's like watching a 'Rocky' movie!! without the hitting each other of course, but the theme music is in my head...oh no!!!
