Picked up Brendan yesterday. It took a while to fit his entire room into the car. Good thing I brought the roof top bag! And good thing we brought a couple of suitcases back with us last time. The car was completely loaded down.

I've had one of those days today - Hubby and I decided to go to our favourite little local coffee shop for a late lunch and coffee today. They were busy, we ordered and sat there for 30 minutes. He went to check where our food was. They'd lost our order. 10 minutes later the food arrived but we got absolutely no apology. I'm so annoyed because I have recommended them to so many of my friends. I can understand that this can happen at busy times but an apology would have gone a long way to making us feel better. Customer service is certainly not what it used to be.
Now I've got that off my chest, I feel better.

Yes, we'll be back to the chaos soon enough. The girls will be home on the 31st. Then we get into gear for the various trips - Spain, Egypt and Italy. It's a little nerve racking!

Yes CynB, that is very annoying! We went out to dinner for my birthday and Mother's day when Bryana was here. I ordered what I thought I had gotten before, a fajita with pork. It came in a pile of oil. It was disgusting. I asked the waiter about the oil, he said it wasn't oil, but a sauce. It was definitely oil and hubby couldn't even eat it. The waiter didn't say anything! Usually, they apologise and try to make it better for you, but nothing! I'm not going back there!

I am finally getting rain instead of snow. Amber's ball game was canceled yesterday because of rain. Another one today in town. Shouldn't get rained out. I still have to keep the fire burning. Our wood pile is down to the last row. Soon it will get hot seemingly overnight and then I'll be complaining it's too hot. The good part is we can go to the beach. Woohoo.

Hi everyone just popped in pour me a cuppa MizT it seems odd as your getting hot weather we are getting cooler weather but after our awful hot summer a cool change will be lovely we went to Perth & had 3 weeks in Adelaide where for the whole time temp did not get below 43 degrees in middle of day so we welcome the cold no snow hehe

Hi everyone...Just called in to say hello and to invite one and all to check out the latest pictures of my beautiful great grandie as she marks four months of life.....I'll see her in August and I'm bursting with joy!....BTW, I'm on the mend as far as the flu stuff too...a good dose of baby love did it!

Mamacita your grandie is gorgeous. I bet you are counting the days impatiently till you get to see her. Pleased to hear that you are feeling better. that cold/flu bug must be everywhere as my DH had it the other week.

Weather has changed again to wet and chilly. From temps in the 20's we are now back down to 14C.

Winter is almost here and I think it is warmer than you have there Brenda.

I think out temps are still cooler than your winter ones, but we never have the extremely high temps you get in the summer, for which I am thankful. I suppose the temperatures are what you get used to in your own country. If I were to visit Australia I would find your winter temps very pleasant

I am thankful that all we have to complain or worry about is the temperatures unlike some countries at present - China and Burma
A friend of my daughters is in China at the moment, fortunately she has let us know she is ok. She is 500 miles from the epicentre of the quake but they felt it quite badly. A bridge, connecting two buildings at the university she is at, moved quite a lot during the quake.

Brenda, good that your daughter's friend is safe and you heard from her. I keep hunting for news from both countries. At least Burma did not get the second cyclone, just a tropical depression with rain, and that is bad enough. Burma's central gov today said they will hunt and punish persons who are hording cyclone aide. I hope they do, so many are in need of food in that area now.

I did read that over 1900 Square miles ( 5000 sq kilometers) of Burma is still under water. It seems the coast line has changed and may stay like this.
