Thank you! My mom has been ill for two years and we are going to take her to the Mayo Clinic. (About 7 hours north of where they live.) Maybe the doctors there can help her. We are having an SA meeting while I am down there and I am so excited about meeting others. It will be fun. I had such a great time with Shiela several weeks ago!

Oh Debbie...I wish I were able to meet up with you when you are in Florida...perhaps next year...I haven't been there this year, and with all that's going on here, I know I won't be there until next year at the earliest....let's stay in touch about that connection....Hope you get some satisfaction with your mom's care... Glad that your dad is hanging in there...take care....know that we care!

Hello everyone - I just had to read through about 4 pages since I was on here yesterday morning. Had a lovely day out with hubby yesterday - spent a lot of time trawling around antique, collectable and second-hand shops - we both love em - but I have bought so much over recent years that I don't have any room left. Really have to think about what I buy now. But still enjoy looking, anyway.

All the new couches/chairs/chaises (June, Ruby and I've forgotten who the other one was) look good - plus, of course MizT's stain-free table.
Lets put the choccie couch cake on the table for all to see -

MizT, I bet your recliner is more comfortable than my Chaise. I remember sleeping on it as a young child (when it belonged to my great Aunt) but my leather recliner is much preferred now.

Suzy we had dial up until recently. I did not watch any yuotube but the avatar was no problem. I reduced the photo off line and then just submitted it.

I had a feel-good experience tonight... A couple of months ago I heard screams outside and it turned out to be girls seeing their dog (who had followed them to the bus stop) being hit by a car. I went out to check on them, saw that the dog was gone, went and got an old towel to cover him, and waited with them and the poor young man who'd hit the dog (it ran in front of his car to get to the girls) until their father arrived from his work. Tonight their mother delivered a brand new replacement towel and some choccies as a thank you!!!!! I never expected anything like that!!! I was so touched....

Hi all, hope everyone is having a good day/evening/night.
Suzy, what a horrible experience for the girls and the driver of the car. It is nice that your kindness to the girls, the driver and even the poor dog has been rewarded.

Suzy, whilst saying you have no avatar, BOOM, there you are with one!
I feel for your daughters. I have also witnessed a dog being hit, and though it was a stranger dog to me, I sat with his young master while we waited for his Mum to come and collect the dog who passed away with the young lad and I patting him and giving him the kindest send-off to the next world that we could.
Please give your girls a quiet cuddle from Aunty Gail.

Good morning all! No snow yesterday and it actually got sunny and warm(50*F)!
Found a massage chair for an avatar that I could use at the moment. A little stiff this morning. They predict snow again today, but I'm hoping they're wrong. We lost alot of the snow and ice yesterday.

Suzy, your good deed and kind heart helped those people more than you thought. It shows that when we take the time to help someone else, the reward is great and the kindness will be passed forward to someone else.

Debby, I hope you find help for your Mom at the clinic. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Enjoy the warm weather in Florida. I'll be going doen to Disney in a couple of weeks. Max is marching in the parade there with his school's marching band. I'll be starting the countdown on the 1st. We're getting excited already!

Rolanda, I didn't realize there was such a thing as limiting day vs night internet usage! I wouldn't think it would matter. We have cable so I don't have any limits, but my mom used to have dialup and she only had so many minutes per month at the flat rate, anything over that and she would have to pay for the usage. Of course, she has never used a computer so it didn',t matter. My dad used to download the news from Ireland every day when he was alive. Just recently, my brother put in fiber optic because he visits her on Sundays, Mondays and Wednesdays and he couldn't go without a good internet connection!

Thank you, everyone, for all of your thoughts and prayers. We sure appreciate it. It has been a long hard road because I live so far away as well as rest of my family.
Stella, our meeting is on the 9th of April in Venice if there is any possible way you could be there too? Kathy/Valrico will have the info.
I have brought my "lazy-boy" from home. I have rocked 3 of my babies in it! If fits like an old slipper! My table was a "garage-sale" find. I found it for $5 and my husband "fixed" it up for me. It is just right to sit a cup or glass on it.

It would have been fun to meet everyone! He's marching in the parade on the 14th in Disney World. Then we're heading back home on the 19th. It's very exciting!

Stella - I am sorry it won't work out. I plan to be in Jacksonville on the 13, 14, and 15. (At Least) If they put my mom in the hospital it may be longer. I have a return flight for the 1st of May. I hope all goes well so I can return then. My mountain band has an engagement on the 6th of May.
I hope you have a safe trip. It should be fun! I know you will enjoy the warm weather after the lonnnnng winter!!!!

Hi June, the opening of Terminal 5 at Heathrow today has been disasterous. 34 flights canceled and delays on retrieval of luggage by up to 2 hours. Supposed o be 'teething' troubles with staff getting to know the new system. How they can say that I don't know because they were supposed to have had rehearsals using thousands of 'pretend' passengers to make sure that the system worked, they even filmed it for a news programme.
