I continue to hope for the end of the bush fires in southeastern Oz and flooding/heavy rains in northeastern Oz (if my geography is correct).

Heidi, I hope all remaining calf and lamb births go smoothly! Glad to hear that your leg is better!

yes the family dinner went extremely well !!

Back from the cow check. I noticed an animal on the far side of the pasture by herself and went out to check. Got out there just in time to see one of my registered girls, a first time heifer that I bought a year ago, abort her calf. It wasn't due until April. I will have to take the fetus in to the vet first thing in the morning, to have it tested.

Very sorry to hear that Heidi. Could it be that it is her first preg? Hope you get answers.

Rolanda, the orange painting is done, just doing the trim now.

All children are alive and hubby is on his way home early. There are severe storm warnings - hail etc. His instructor decided they should all get home - of course most of them are 15 minutes from home....

Hmmmmm, computers playing tricks is not a good thing!

Yes Suzy, not been dizzy for a while, but the smoke around here is so bad there are more fires,
not too far from Gail, very scary, have you heard from her over the last few hours ???

Hope you are not too uncomfortable, or at risk!! Gail posted this evening. I think it was this morning she said the smoke she had was from back burning.

I've been reading about the fires in my usual news troll, scary stuff. I looked on the google map and couldn't see any of the place names there were so many bubbles there again. The map had cleared during the week. None of the stories mention Cockatoo or Nunawading, which are the only specific areas that I know...

Just realised it's my brother's birthday! Who knew what date it was and didn't tell me!!!

Dinner. Chicken Casserole alla Becky.. and steamed Veg.

No havent spokent to Gail today.. She was on the SA a while ago, looking back.. 2 hours ago

Dino was flying home this morning. I missed the news about the Wilson's Prom fire.
We had a lovely day on the water and when we got back we went for a ride on the new train line that was opened today. Took 7 years to build for a 20 minute ride. It is all through a tunnel. Saves us going right through the city (by train and about 1 hour)to a place we can drive in about 20 minutes.

Good to see you here Liz, Have a nice evening Suzy and do not put the furniture against the new paint for at least a week.
Gail and Broni, keep weilding those brushes. I know I have painting jobs not finished.
Hope you find out what made the cow abort the calf. I know we got something once that was making a lot of the cows abort.(forgot what it was called)

We are fine. The big fire that erupted today was first reported around 2 this arvo. It started in a nature reserve and the winds were quite strong, but once they had a handle on it, the change came in and the wind changed direction. We could see the smoke from here but it was blowing in our favour. Gathered more things to take, but didn't end up loading them in the car...yet!

Just watched Tale of Two Cities, off to beddy byes now. Nite.

Gail, glad things look a bit better tonight. Why not take some of your treasure and leave them with someone who is not near any fires. Thanks for the info on Dino. I was thinking of her.

My cat is a bit off colour. She must have a fur ball again!
