Susan, why could you not imagine letting your Mom pay for your lunch? it gave my Mom great joy to be able to ' do something nice" for her girls. she was not always able to when we were young.

Have always experienced that shopping dilema, Suzy. That, and the fact that if there is something I like, it will be the most expensive item...never fails!

Heidi, that is what this hat style was called on an Aussie website Liz and I were looking at. Basically a Aussie flavored cowboy hat hehehe.

VICI, our cam has to go past us to Montgomery, hang around there a bit as they do not get in any hurry, and then come back north to Montevallo! Al has not looked to see when it will arrive and i just as soon he not get on the puter, or we will be LATER leaving.

I have a favor to ask all my Sudoku friends. One of the teachers I work with is going through a tough time. Her 14 year old daughter was just diagnosed with leukemia. I believe in the power of prayer. Please keep the Frith family in you prayers. Hopefully with enough people praying, it will help. She is a sweet young lady and the mom is pretty special too.

Suzy, my mom will back me up on this story. When my older brother was about 16, he was going to a party at a friend's house. My mom came home from work to find a whole watermelon in the sink with a little hole cut out of it. He had a bottle of vodka draining into the watermelon and planned to bring it to the party. My mom threw the thing in the garbage and then called the parents to make sure there would be adult supervision.

Susan, I agree with your comments to Suzy. I teach in a so-called bad area. Most of my students are very low income and get free lunch. I have few that I know will end up in jail, but most of them are really good kids who make bad decisions and need to learn from them. Most of them try to do what is right. Having a teacher who trusts them and cares is a big start on the right foot.

I don't know about being a gift to my students. I make mistakes but I try. Hopefully some of my "kids" will remember me and stay positive.
