I'm going to Luna Park - with a bus load of teenagers. :( They forgot to tell me until today. Oh well, at least I don't have to teach that day.

Thanks for the link Suzy. I enjoyed looking at the things offered at Luna Park. The Deck restaurant looked like a really nice dining facility, overlooking the harbor.
When you were in US, did you ever visit a Six Flags Amusement park? If you did, how do you compare Luna park to Six Flags? I saw the map of the rides, but did not see theaters like Six flags has, for theme shows put on by usually young people, high school and college aged.

I went more than once as a parent chaperone to Six Flags. I think we took 3 or 4 bus loads. Al went with us, and we really enjoyed the young people in our group. Daughter #2 was in the group, Middle School aged children, she was OK with us going as long as we did not go on HER bus and she did not have to check in with us. hehehe.
Students got to choose which bus they wanted, hopefully with all their friends. They segregated themselves by color. We went on the bus what was all black children. Our bus was the best behaved of all the buses! They checked in with us on time, every time, except for one student, and other students went across the park hunting him, until they found him and brought him back to check in.

I had a bad night.... shooting pain down my right leg.... it's usually down the left.... and pain meds didn't do much. Once I fell asleep I slept through the morning. Again. That fall I had undid the good of the epidural. The next epidural isn't until Sept. 25th.

Off to run errands. I need to pay the mortgage, get cash for my trip (probably leaving Sunday) and stock up on food for the critters.

Cappadacia(?)is an unreal place. The Christians made there home here about first century.carving out there homes and churches in the soft volcanic rock formations. We visited some of their churches today and saw frescos painted 1000 years ago. Reception not good here and my glasses are back in the room. Balloon flight will be on Sunday morning, leaving the hotel at about 4am.

I first read that as balloon fight, as water balloons, and wondered just why June would get up at 4:30 am for a water balloon fight hehehe. Silly Tricia.

Greetings, All!
June, I'm excited for you! And I read your post as 'balloon flight.' That may be because for years I have wished I could visit Cappadocia, and I think the almost surreal terrain would be fun to see from a balloon. Wikipedia says: 'The name is still widely used as an international tourism concept to define a region of exceptional natural wonders, in particular characterized by fairy chimneys and a unique historical and cultural heritage.' Here's a link from Wiki Travel:

MizT, it sounds like you and Al had a good time when chaperoning young people at Six Flags! We have one about an hour from us, but haven't been there in years. It's quite expensive. I just read a promotion that said you could save $22 if you buy tickets online at least three days prior to visiting - and pay 'just' $41.99. That's per person. I've heard that some people buy the season pass, figuring if they go 2 times, they'll save money. (A season pass is $71.99 per person IF you buy 4 or more.)

Heidi, it certainly seems that your fall didn't do good things for your pain. I didn't know it could negate the effects of the epidural. You have a long month ahead of you waiting for your next one. By the way, hubby and I saw a car with a license plate that said
EPIDURL
(In Illinois, we're limited to 7 letters and/or numbers.)
Good luck on your trip to FL, Heidi, whether you leave on Sunday or later.

Jeet, the puppy, has returned home. Unfortunately, as we were packing up, we forgot her water and food bowls. I didn't realize it until we were almost at the airport to pick up our D, so too late to return home. I suspect we'll be seeing her again soon, maybe even tomorrow.
Time to head to bed. Sending healing vibes, {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, positive thoughts, prayers, and

Jukiem my sister lived in the Atlqnta area, where there is a Six Flags. When our children were growing up, she bought season tickets for her children, cause family and friends often stayed overnight with her when visiting Six Flags. Her children would go with visiting family. I loved having them with my girls, they knew the park backwards and forward. I could sit in one spot in the shade and let the young ones go off to ride the rides together. Less wear and tear on Mom hehehe. Her children could also fgo with friends to evening concerts at the park free throughout the summer. It was well worth the cost for them. Not nearly as expensive back then either. I remember paying $21 for adult, if you did not have a discount coupon, which were readily available.
I could have slept till 6:30 this morning, but instead woke at 3 am hurting. I got my meds and went back to bed, but only dozed a bit off and on till 5 am. Now that it is too late to go to sleep, I am getting sleepy. That figures. Today I have a spot on the EP bus, leaving at 8 am, to go to Pepper Place. A local attraction, in the old Dr Pepper bottling plant and other buildings adjacent. Up scale and trendy restaurants, shops of hand crafted items and they have a farmers market on Saturdays. I received the Senior's Produce Coupons, from the Dept of Agriculture. It allows seniors to 'buy' produce from the farmer who grew it, at a Farmers Market. Mine were late arriving, I have not had a chance to shop with them yet. Today is the day! I want peaches and tomatoes, perhaps some fresh shelled peas and beans to cook.
I will have a few minutes to rest when we get home, then off to Joy's birthday lunch. I really needed a good night's sleep to do all this, but didn't happen. Yesterday was a rest day, I only went downstairs one time, for veggie man (bananas are not locally grown so not at farmers market) and watered the thirsty plants. Remainder of day was devoted to rest and relaxation.
OK. There is an hour, perhaps a nap?
Hugs to each of you, with extras.

Hi all. Sorry I have been missing but the first week of school has been crazy. I am still working at Target, but only on weekends. Hubby starts a new job on Tuesday, he was out of work for about 4-5 weeks. That was the reason I was trying to stay at Target. Now the extra money will go towards some minor home repairs and Dylan's Bar Mitzvah.

Busy day. I'm getting the RV and horse trailer ready for the trip tomorrow. The RV is loaded with plenty of food and drink, as well as my clothes, DVDs, a book and everything for the dog that I'm taking. I'm now about to scrub out the horse trailer, since I won't take a dirty trailer onto someone else's farm. I have about an hour and a half to work before starting supper. Cousin Don is joining us. Chicken marinaded in italian dressing
, potato salad, green salad with my purple garden tomatoes, and grape jello with blueberries. I may cook up some peas, too, if it looks like we need more food.

Morning all -
Broni, get better soon!!
Tami - I'm glad your hubby found a job so quickly, must be a load off your minds.
Heidi - have fun and take care on your trip!
June - I remember my brother and his wife talking about Cappadocia when they got back from Turkey last year. They're the ones now in the US, Oregon at the moment. Tomorrow is his birthday and they're off to Yellowstone. Then they go to Seattle and on into Canada - including places like Vancouver, Banff, Calgary, fly to Toronto, Halifax, Montreal then to Niagara Falls and NY before coming home in October. Jealous much!

Julie and Tricia - Season tickets are the way to go for families and fun parks. My kids have often done that as family Christmas presents, which means constant entertainment all your round for a little more than the price of one visit. We have several between Brisbane and the Gold Coast and some of them are linked to one Season Pass which means a family can visit either Sea World, Movie World - Warner Bros Australia Studios, or Wet n Wild, a water park on the one season pass. The other main one on a separate pass is Dream World - rides, iMax cinemas, animals (tigers and Aussie wildlife) as well as being the home of the Big Brother House, exciting for some, not me!

After cleaning out the trailer, I tried to shut the back door and discovered that one of the two screws holding the back latch on is missing. If I can't find a replacement screw by tomorrow noon (when I was planning on leaving) I'll have to postpone the trip another day so I can take it in to the dealership to be repaired. Why can't anything be simple?

Quick drop in. I am not here, I am planning - yeah right! I always have good intentions to plan for the entire week and then get one day done...
Tami, that would have been a stressful time. I hope the relatively short time to find a new job means the economy is finally on the mend.
Cyn, when we went to Queensland it creeped me out realising I was even close to the Big Brother house - and there was nobody in it at the time! Just walking past the signs made me feel dirty. We did the season ticket thing when we lived close to Disneyland.
Cyn, I had a brief oh no moment and then checked. It is Yosemite that is burning, not Yellowstone. Scary as it is way out of control.
I spent several weeks in Seattle over a couple of years doing training courses at Boeing.
Broni, I really hope you feel better soon. I am spending half of my time holding my breath and so far it is working. I stayed away from Dana when she and Tahli were sick, only to get puked on when she asked me to help them pick up some meds. So far so good. Now Don has a nasty cold on his chest and I am hoping I don't get that! I really don't want to get sick until the end of term.

June, your trip sounds wonderful! I think the balloon flight will be fantastic! Don and I did one in the Hunter Valley on one of his trips over before we got married. It was magical. Mum was not happy. Only a few months after was when there were the 5 fatal balloon accidents one after another. I'd go again if I could.
Luna Park is much much smaller than the six flags parks. It's main attraction for me is that it is on the harbour. We did go to a six flags when I lived in CA. I loved the rides, but there were groups of people who just walked up to the front of the line at whichever ride they wanted to go on - and were allowed to. It wasn't worth challenging them as they may have been armed. Yes, gang members.
Heidi, I hope you get off okay tomorrow (?) losing track of the days here...

MizT, you had a busy day to deal with on not enough sleep. I hope all went well and you enjoyed Pepper Place. Happy Birthday
to Joy!
Broni, I'm sorry to hear that the lurgy remains! It's time for it to leave you and bother someone else! I'm glad to hear that you have been to a doctor and hope any recommendations/suggestions are helpful!
Heidi, I wish you could find something to relieve the pain in your right leg! Otherwise, it will be a long month until your next epidural. Also, I can't believe that a screw for holding on the trailer hatch is missing. What a relief that you discovered it before trying to secure the horses in the trailer! Hopefully you had a good dinner with IH and Don, followed by a restful and long sleep!
Tami, it's good to see you after a busy first week back at school. Congrats to your hubby on quickly finding a new job. It makes sense to hang on to the job at Target, as long as they schedule you for times that don't conflict with other important things in your life!
Suzy, I hope you can continue to evade any illness you have been/might be exposed to! I hope you were able to get most of your lesson planning finished! I was also wondering if June's family knew Christopher Lane, the young man from Australia who was killed by the 'bored' teens? I just can't understand the awful things happening in this world.
Rolanda, many {{{{{HUGS}}}}} for you today. The family luncheon sounds yummy. Seems this date and the previous have their share of birthdays! Happy Birthday to your sister, Oma, Tante Annie, your Mum and S#1 - a great day for an earthly and a heavenly celebration.

Heidi - hope you found that screw for the latch!
Suzy, I feel that about the BB house, but some people just go to Dreamworld because they know it's there, whether there's filming going on or not! And my bro is going to Seattle to visit the Boeing factory, how's that? Big dream of his. Also there's something there to do with Porsche that he's visiting, don't know what. His wife decided that if they're going to Seattle for his pursuits, that they would go to Prince Edward Island because she'd always wanted to go there since reading Anne of Green Gables as a child. Good for her!

Have not been able to find the missing screw, so will have to replace it. If course, I don't have the right size here, and it's Sunday. When my fantastic neighbor George gets back from church, he's gonna see if he has one the right size. He has a good sized workshop, and has everything imaginable for his handyman, construction and custom furniture business.

Heidi, I think you are right, that funny typo was an attempt to type in Julie.
Julie, I did OK with not much sleep until I got home from second trip out Saturday, the lunch with Joy, about 2 PM. I put on my gown and went to bed. I got up about 7 PM for a bowl of soup and a bit of TV. After I fell asleep in my chair, I went back to bed about 10 PM and except for waking up for potty and pain meds, slept till after 9 AM. I think I am now caught up on sleep.
Rolanda, I hope the birthday dinner was a huge success. I love lemon meringue pie. I have a great recipe I make on occasions. I think you have inspired me to make that again, after current WW Key Lime Pie is finished. That is the low calorie one made with sugar free Lime Jello, Key Lime Yogurt and cool whip. Easy, low cal and tasty.
Heidi, did you find a screw to fit your latch on trailer? ( I see later you did not, bummer) I do hope so and you are on your way south. Also hope you can dodge the showers and t-storms across the south east today.
Broni, I do hope you are on the road to recovery. glad you did see the doc and hope he was able to provide symptom relief for you till this virus runs it's course. Get Well Soon, please.
TAMI, you do lead a busy life now, with two jobs. Happy hubby is back t work. I hope this job is well paying and long lasting.
Cyn, hope Colin's last heart test is quickly finished and you hear only good things on the results. When will you know how it turned out?
HEIDI< I hope George does find the correct screw. Reminds me of the one missing horse shoe nail, for the want of a nail, the kingdom was lost!
Thanks for the birthday wishes for Joy. I will pass them on to her. She seemed surprised at the 'bed in a bag' I gave her. Bed skirt, comforter, 2 decorative pillows, pillow shams for 4 pillows.
Did I tell you I showed her a photo of it when I was showing her a lot of interesting things I saw on nomorerack.com. She said she liked that. I was not sure of her bed size, queen or king. The next morning, I sent off a text asking. When she answered an hour or so later saying queen sized, I sent back one saying OH NO, they are out of the queen sized in the Egyptian cotton sheets I found for you! Only king and full left. I immediately ordered the comforter in queen size. Am I devious or what? She did not have a clue.
Hugs to each of you. I have been up long enough now to have brunch. One of my meds must be on empty stomach, with nothing to eat for an hour after. I wish I had thawed the sausage that is in freezer, OH well, I will do that now and have for tomorrow. This is made in the store butcher shop in Montevallo, I bought last doc appointment. It is so lean you need to coat pan with oil or Pam so it will not stick while cooking. It is yummy!
Huge hugs to everyone, with extras. Till later.
