I got the prescription filled! I got the paperwork for IH! And the dentist called to cancel the appointment for today! It's rescheduled for tomorrow when I have nothing else planned. All-in-all, a good day.
So now I'm going back to bed. I'm gonna reward myself with a nap.

Hello all.
Life continues to be interesting and busy. D has a bladder infection and is in quite a bit of pain, so I've been helping with the grandies, the oldest of which has a really sore stomach today ... trip to ER is a possibility.
Snowball and Frasier are both in a holding pattern right now. Nothing much can be done for them, so we are keeping them comfortable until the time is right. Neither one is in pain (but I am). Snowball has a neurological disorder which would cost thousands just to diagnose, which we can't afford. That's the problem when you take in so many rescued and abandoned cats, you can't afford expensive treatments for just one. My heart aches for them. Snowball is 10 and Frasier is 12, so at least we have given them quite a few years in a loving home.
My favourite BIL has an aneurism very close to the liver, a very rare type. He is scheduled for another MRI in December at which time they will decide whether or not to operate. The doctors he has seen so far have never done this type of surgery because of its rarity, so that does not make my sister or BIL feel better. Also, risks of surgery are very high.
I am working on TRYING to make a braided rug out of old sheets. I'll let you know how it turns out. Also, we have asked the fire department to return the blanket I gave them as a sample. Every time we ask, they have handed it off to another person to check into. Seriously? I am trying to donate children's blankets for first responders, it's not as if I'm asking them to pay for them. So when I get a few more made, I'll donate them to a mission in Ottawa that houses homeless families.

Theresa.... they may feel that since you gave them the blanker, it's theirs, not yours now. I make it a rule to never lend anything that I can't afford to lose. A lot of people seem to think that loans are gifts, even if you try to be clear that it's only a loan. Once it's out of your hands, you need to think of it as gone. 90% of the time, it is.

Just a brief visit to say hello!
Heidi, sounds like today has made up for yesterday! Hooray for the nap and the prescription filled and IH's paperwork. Good luck at the dentist for the cleaning tomorrow.
Theresa, your plate is full and overflowing. I hope your D's infection is cleared up zoo and hope older grandee is feeling much better! Does she get sympathy pains to go along with her Mom's? It's good that Snowball and Frazier are both pain-free for now. Sending prayers for your BIL. Is there a medical school/university hospital nearby that might have specialists among their staff/faculty? Good luck with the braided rug - and getting back the sample blanket you had made.
I had a call yesterday morning from the local blood bank asking me to donate either yesterday or today. Had a dental appointment yesterday afternoon, so donated platelets and a unit of red blood cells this afternoon. At my last visit I had only donated platelets, so didn't need to wait the 8 weeks, and local hospitals are very anxious to get blood products after the long holiday weekend.
Time for me to head to bed. {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, prayers, healing vibes,
and positive thoughts for each of you!

I slept all morning, and leave in 2 1/2 hours. First stop is the RV dealership to pick up the license plate and registration for the RV. Then to the dentist's for a cleaning. After that, I come home so IH and I can make a phone call to his sister, who wants to talk to us both. Then we're going out to dinner at the Indian restaurant.

Tonight we are in Delphi. We will visit the sight tomorrow. This morning we were in Olympia and we spent all morning visiting the original Olympic site which is slowly being excavated. It was all very interesting. One more night and then we are back in Athens. We have travelled through some very scenic mountain country. The only problem is the air conditioning in the bus could work a bit better and I (and others) have trouble keeping awake!

Back from the dentist's with a great check up and cleaning. The dealership didn't have my plate and registration in yet although 2 days ago they told me it would be in yesterday. Now they say it will be in on Monday (9th). It had better be. The temporary tag expires on the 13th.

Hope you get the registration soon and have a safe drive to Florida.
Theresa, keeping you and your family in my thoughts. Hope all get better soon.
Don't remember much else. I am slightly brain damaged after taking 35 of our students bowling today. Tomorrow I have a workshop in the morning and Target at night. Back at Target on Sunday. Good thing I like getting the extra money and the discount.

Greetings friends. Today was a very achey day, and I have not done much.
Last night nine of us went out to dinner and to listen to Jazz. The music was fantastic. We had lots of fun. The sun set just about the time the music started and a nice breeze started up. We were up on the porch, overlooking the garden where the group played. We had a fantastic waiter who took very good care of all of us. Many of the group had been there last month when this group played before. Allen had been their waiter then, and told them it was his last night. He had just graduated with his masters degree and was starting a new job. When he found out our group was coming back, he asked to come back for the night to be our waiter.
The chairs were most uncomfortable, and that added to the ouchey day today, I am sure. Have not decided if the night out was worth the day after or not :).
Heidi, I do hope they get your registration on your RV all cleared up by Monday. good Luck. Happy Anniversary to you. You deserve a metal for putting up with Gil for 35 years!
Tami, you sure have a busy schedule. I hope there is some rest time in there for you this weekend.
June, your trip sounds wonderful. Enjoy the remaining days in Greece.
Suzy, hope you too have recovered to taking school children on a field trip. Hope you are well rested before the new week starts. How many more weeks of this term for you?
Nola, good to see you posting, and Theresa and Julie also.
Hugs to each of you, with extras. It is bed time again, although I should be tired of the bed by now. I spent enough time there today.

The drive will be to northern Wisconsin, not Florida. It will already be Autumn there, with chilly nights. We just spent the last half hour working out details with IH's sister. We'll be leaving here the afternoon of the 19th, and driving to Northern Indiana. We'll stop at a rest area and sleep for a few hours, then continue to Rock County in Wisconsin, where we're picking up his father and brother. Then we have another 4+ hours to get to the wedding site. Once there, I get the RV to myself, since the men folk have 2 motel rooms. IH and his brother will be sharing one.The wedding is the 21st. Early on the morning of the 22nd, we're heading south to visit my aunt and cousin, then either back home from there, or drop off any relatives of IH's that we may be carrying who don't want to go to Kentucky.

Good Evening, Everyone!
Nola, I'm sorry if you lost a long post. Even so, it's always good to see you, even if it's just to say Hi!
Heidi, hooray for the good check-up and cleaning at the dentist. Boo for the people at the dealership who still did not have your plate and registration. I hope they have a 'Plan B' in case they don't have it for you Monday, or at least by the time the temporary tag expires on Sept. 13!
Happy Anniversary, Heidi and Gil! I hope you had a nice celebratory dinner! You certainly have earned it (and a lot more)!
Tami, sounds like a busy weekend, after a busy day with 35 kids bowling. (I can't imagine how loud it must have been!)
Suzy, I hope you have recovered from your field trip to Luna Park. I hope you can find some time for yourself this weekend! Hopefully all is well with your hubby, D's and GrandD!
June, your trip itinerary sounds wonderful. I hope the air conditioning on the bus can put out more cool. It's hard to stay awake on a warm bus, but if you doze off, you miss all the wonderful scenery.
MizT, I'm so glad you enjoyed the concert. Too bad the chair were so uncomfortable, contributing to an uncomfortable day today. I hope you sleep well and feel better tomorrow.
Heidi, did you find out vdV's good news? His post: 'Passed, no changes required:)' He's now Dr. vdV!

I'm making progress on the trip. I found a new route to take which isn't much longer, but completely avoids Chicago. And it's an easier route to IH's brother's place..... a lot fewer turns. This'll make IH happy. He didn't want to go through Chicago, partially because of congestion but mostly because he's afraid of the bridge on the Skyline Parkway. IH is afraid of heights.

Greetings, Everybody!
Suzy, I hope you have been sleeping/resting as much as possible. That must have been quite a field trip with 60 thirteen-year-olds!
Heidi, I think at one time you may have mentioned that IH has a PhD. As my Mom (a high school graduate) used to say, a degree doesn't mean someone is smart or has any common sense.
Heidi, good for you for finding an alternate route for your trip north (and somewhat west). If it makes your trip easier, it's worth driving a few extra miles!
Enjoy the dog grooming tomorrow, Heidi! I wasn't able to get the link to work, so couldn't see Sassy. Was she well named? To me, 'Sassy' suggests a bit of an attitude.

Julie.... obviously, it's a bit west (or I'd end up in Lake Michigan), and 47 miles longer, but travel time in off hours is only 10 minutes longer. During rush hour (half the time in Chicago) it takes less time. I'll head west at Indianapolis, swinging nearly to Peoria, then heading due north on I-39. IH's brother lives only 2 miles off of I-39. Then we continue on that same interstate most of the way to the wedding site.
I'm gonna do some dog grooming (Sugar is a mess) then detach the bush hog from my tractor, attach both hay spears, and start moving the 108 new rolls of hay in my hay field.
This should get us through the winter.

Afternoon folks,
Not feeling particularly good these past few days...I've been light-headed for some reason. I suspect a sinus infection, since I've also been stuffed up and sneezing. Nothing earth shaking, but annoying. Hope the rest of you are doing okay and that fair to great heath reigns in S.A for awhile.
Julie, I've heard lots of folks who act dense, silly or don't use common sense but hold advanced degrees referred to as 'educated fools', and I've known a few of them. Your Mom's reference made me smile.
Suzy, 60 thirteen kids anywhere together at one time are bound to be tiring...smiles. Hope you are now recovered though.
Good to see your post Nola and Theresa.
Will go play some games and do some puzzles to wile away the time until I time to fix diner. Sending good thoughts to all of you and to those held close to your heart. Peace.

Well, I got Sugar groomed.... then took the bush hog off (a hard job), and discovered that not only did IH break the back window of my big tractor (which hasn't been fixed yet) but he lost a crucial nut that helps bolt the bush hog to the draw bar of the tractor. I had specifically instructed him to keep an eye on it when he used the tractor because it wasn't as tight as I'd like. He forgot to check it. This is such a big nut that hardware stores don't carry that size. It'll have to be special ordered. I told him that I'm sick to death of him breaking or losing everything of mine that he uses.

It's common sense and an awareness of other people's needs/wants or even space, that is sometimes lacking in people who may be brilliant in their own fields and have a string of degrees.
I worked closely for years with an industrial chemist, a leader in his field in Australia, who was so very frustrating, that sometimes I just had to leave the office and have a cigarette to calm down until I just stopped being polite. I'd just say to him - 'go back down to the lab, you're irritating me' - I will say that he usually did!! I always felt sorry for his wife!!

Heidi, I think portions of I-39 are relatively new, so hopefully you'll have a comfortable, as well as less congested trip. It has been about 3 years since we drove on I-39 in Wisconsin.
Mamacita, I hope you will soon feel better! A sinus infection can certainly make life miserable for a while. There are lots of allergy problems this year in the midwest. Could that be a contributing factor in your area? Please take care of yourself and get as much rest as possible.
Heidi, I'm so sorry to hear that the special nut was lost when IH used your tractor. He certainly has a way of making your life more difficult. Will you be able to use the tractor to move the 108 rolls of hay? I think I remember that timing can be crucial for getting the hay into the barn.
Hi, CynB! It seems like you were able to keep yourself in control when working with the frustrating chemist. The amazing thing is that people like that really seem to have no clue of how they affect people. Aren't you glad you no longer need to deal with him?
It seems like we have had a quiet day here today, and I'm going to try to get to bed early. Sending positive thoughts, prayers,

Greetings friends. Thought I would check in long enough to say Here I Is
I am going through a rough patch here, and have no reason why. the new pain meds just not working as they should. Pain levels high. I have not dressed or been out of the apartment this entire weekend. None of my usual remedies are helping much or for long.
I got desperate enough to try my old pain med. I think that it was the medication that caused the allergic reaction, I started with my nose itching that soon spread to itches everywhere. But it did relieve pain for a while. What a bummer. I did not realize that hurting could be so exhausting. I am headed back to bed, hope I can get a bit more sleep. Not sleeping much.
I did read, and thought about everyone. Mama, hope you feel better soon. Heidi, hope you can get the needed part for your tractor sent to you. Midge, good to see you drop in again. Yes, more than my fair share, hope to get things under control again and soon. June, how much longer will you be in Athens? any side trips fore you leave for home? Heidi, when are you leaving for the wedding? I do hope you have a safe and easy trip.
Hugs to each of you with extras. It seems the pain meds I took over an hour ago are beginning to help. Maybe I can sleep a bit now. Catch you again later.

You have my sympathy, MizT. I understand what you're going through. The last epidural has already worn off, and the methadone is having a tough time trying to keep the pain bearable. I'm not sleeping well at night due to the pain shooting down the legs. I'll hurt whether I stay here or go to the wedding (and fortunately the RV is easy on my back) so I might as well go. We leave a week from this Thursday..... 10 days from now. It'll be IH's first time riding in the RV, too, so he's gonna discover how wonderful it is for traveling. He won't be allowed to drive it. Ever. I'm not showing him the 2 switches that have to be thrown before you can start the engine or generator, and he doesn't have the brains to 1) figure out that they exist, and 2) figure out where they are.
The next epidural is 2 days after we get home from the wedding.

Before we returned to Athens we were in Kalambaka and visited two Monesteries built high up on top of these incredible rock formations. A very picturesque area.
Yesterday we started by climbing the Areopagus, a high area where Apostle Paul gave a speech. We then walked into the flee market area and all the shops. Had a rest after lunch and back to the eating area last night and had a nice dinner looking up at the Acropolis area. It is lit up at night and looks spectacular from all angles.
Up Lycabettus Hill today which looks all over the city.
Tomorrow we fly to London. Not sure if I will get onto the internet much while in UK. We have tickets to see the State romms at Buckingham Palace and for a couple of shows. After 3 days we will pick up a car and visit some friends and also some sight seeing.

Good Evening! Just a few minutes before midnight here.
Hi, Midge! It's nice to see you visited, even though I missed you. Thanks for pointing out the space in Heidi's link. I thought I had looked for one, but obviously missed it. Sassy is a cute dog, but if Heidi couldn't potty train her, I know I wouldn't be able to!
MIdge, I'm glad you had a lovely time in Perth in spite of the rain. Hopefully you feel rejuvenated for your return to work!
CynB, how is Jewel? She is so cute, and hopefully not as much of a handful as she was as a pup.
MizT, I certainly hope you (and your doctor) can find a way to get your pain controlled! It can rob you any pleasure in your life. Hopefully sleep provides a bit of an escape. I'm so glad that you were able to post again and let us know that the morning pan meds worked and you were having some relief!
Heidi, I'm glad the drive and the wedding will give you some diversion, since you still have a couple of weeks until your next epidural. I'm also very glad to hear that the RV is relatively easy on your back, hopefully much better than hotel/motel beds would be. I think it's very brilliant of you to prevent IH from ever driving it! It seems that he has a negative effect on the machinery he touches.
June, you are making good use of your time in Athens, I see! May you continue to have safe travels on the next leg of your journey!
We have a busy day tomorrow, but I'm going to try to squeeze in a water aerobics class. It has been too many months!

Morning friends. Last night was a bit better, but I did have to get into a nice hot shower once in middle of the night to calm down pain so I could get to sleep. Just so glad that worked last night.
Suzy, hope you are getting enough rest. How many more weeks of this school term?
Rolanda, did it rain at your house? Midge said it rained all week in Perth. How is your garden growing?
Julie, hope that you do find time for your water aerobics class. I have missed last 6 weeks, and really want to get back to mine. It does help.
June, enjoy London, hope you have an easy flight over.
Heidi, so sorry to hear your epidural has worn off already. I am happy for you that the RV is easy on your back driving and has a good comfortable bed for you. I hope your trip is easy and uneventful.
Today my cleaning lady comes, this afternoon. I have some straightening to do so she can find surfaces to clean
. Kitchen is OK, just need to straighten my desk and table beside my chair and the dining table. I got sewing machine out weeks ago for a minor repair job. I have broken straps on my cloth shopping bags, two if them. I use them when going on bus to wal mart, or to get packages from car to apartment. they are large and can hang on the back of my power chair. Makes it easy to transport items, but they must have 2 working straps. Would take about 15 min to do the repairs, but have not got around to it. I am tired of looking at machine, so today it goes back into the closet. I noticed EP was selling shopping bags for 50 cents, I should just go buy a couple and toss the broken ones.
It is sunny today, a bit humid but not expected to be too hot today. I am looking forward to the lower humidity that comes with autum. we had a 'tease' last week, 3 days of ow humidity and it was so nice. I did get outside to water plants, after neglecting them for 2 days over weekend. Only one was a bit wilted. A big drink of water and it perked right back up.
Hugs to each of you, with extras. till later.

I'm about to call the RV dealership to find out about the registration and tag. The temporary expires in 3 days. I don't like cutting things so close.
Glad you had a better night, MizT.
We just had a bit of excitement. A bulldozer, a backhoe and a truck pulling a dumpster pulled up to the back gate a half hour ago. SIX big, burly men then got out and walked into the yard among the pack of collies. (Yes, there is a sign on the back gate warning people not to enter.) I ran out as soon as I saw them nearing the gate, but it was too late. The dogs are smart, though, and realized that they were workmen, not bad guys, and were all friendly. Why, you ask, did they enter the yard? They had to remove an old, disused meter, which one guy did in 1 minute. It was kind of amusing that the phone company would send so many men with such heavy equipment, to do a job that required a screwdriver and a wire cutter.
