Daily anecdote: It's never a good idea to plug your computer into the smartboard until you know what's on the screen.

Today I forgot that and plugged my little notebook in, only to find that the last page I had been on was facebook. You're on facebook Miss! Was quickly followed by oh, don't take that photo down, I love that photo, what is it miss? It was that one that circulated about a year ago of the tiny unborn baby reaching out from the womb and holding the finger of the surgeon operating on mum or bubs, can't remember which. Thank goodness the photo had done the rounds again and that I had clicked on it. It could so easily have been something not so uplifting!!

It is 70 degrees and raining this morning. Gentle rain so far. I shall take my wake up coffee and go sit on the covered patio and enjoy the rain.

Later today we shall have a hot dog lunch party to celebrate the holiday. I have been wanting hot dogs the last couple of days, so this will be good. Another party put on by the Residents Association, free. Never pass up a free lunch, I say.

New BP medication just might work, if we can keep the side effects under control. I do hope so, I am tired of changing medication. I am sure my inu=surance is tired of paying for drugs I cannot take, too. Doc has learned, only write a script for a month at a time, not the 3 month ones.

Catch you later. Hugs to each of you, with extras.

We are now in Athens and I can sit on the balcony of our hotel room and look at the Pathenon. It also looks spectacuar at night when it is flood lit. We watched th changing of the guards at the parliment building today. Sunday would have been better but still quite a spectacular performance.
Really enjoyed Santorini. It is built on the rim of an old volcano. A long way to walk down to sea level, or you can go by donkey!
We also had a boat trip to the present volcano which last erupted in 1950. Lots of interesting rock formations every where.
Tomorrow we start on our official Trafalar tour of Greece.
Glanced through your posts. Hugs and good health wishes to you all.

Wow, June. You're really on the trip of a lifetime! I hope when you return you'll share a few pictures with us.

I just called the animal shelter, but they're not open today, as I suspected. They open tomorrow at 11 am, and I'll be there then with Sassy, the abandoned dog. I'm still cleaning up her messes several times a day. Catching her in the act and punishing her does no good. She's a cute little mutt, and is friendly to everybody, but she's hyper and has no manners. Nor does she obey anything you tell her to do. We'll both be happy to see her go.

Good morning all,
Broni, glad you're feeling better.
Tricia - enjoy the hot dogs!
Heidi - it's a shame about the dog and her heartless owners, I suppose they thought they'd dump her on you and not think about her again.
June, we stayed in a hotel from our balcony we could see the Acropolis lit up at night, spectacular indeed! I hope you got a chance to do some shopping and have a meal up in the Plaka, right under the hill that the Acropolis sits on.

That's nice of the Inlaws, Tami. Glad you enjoyed yourself.

Tomorrow, besides taking the dog to the shelter, I'm also taking the RV in to the dealership. It doesn't need work.... I just have to empty out the tanks that need emptying, and fill the tanks that need filling. While there, I'm going to have a serious talk with the owner about the registration. Not even the temporary tag was registered! And I've had the RV nearly 2 months! Somebody there didn't do their job and the owner needs to hear about it.

We have 47 people on the tour for the next week. A very full bus. Mainly Australia, US and Canada.

Bit of excitement tonight. A friend phoned me, said her BP was 190/110, heart rate 140 and she was having trouble breathing. Her breathing is an ongoing problem, her BP is not. Usually she is only out of breath when she is up walking, tonight she was huffing and puffing just sitting in her chair. I convinced her to call medics, they were on the way by time I got to her apartment.

After they got there, I talked her into letting them transport her to ER. Stubborn woman, did not want to go, but she had told me she was afraid, which to me meant she needed to go. I hope everything will be OK. Medics seemed to think her breathing medication could run her BP up, but it never had in 15 years. Always a first time I imagine. She must have the breathing treatments, so if they have to add a BP medication, they will.

I talked with her son twice, boy, he did not seem the least concerned, did not ask me to give his mom any message, and did not tell me if he was going to meet her at hospital or not. I do hope some of her family does get there. Another neighbor of hers was going with her, following in her auto, so she could bring our patient home if they did not keep her. I think they will, I hope they will and she will stay. First time anyone has talked her into going to ER, so there is hope she will stay till they straighten this out.

One of the medics asked me, in elevator leaving, if I was a nurse. told him I had been years ago. The other one said, ' I could tell.' Hope that was in a good way hehehe

Now I am finishing the beef stew I was cooking when she she phoned me. My house is smelling good.
Hugs to each of you, with extras, till later.

Friends!

Suzy, way to go in dealing with the facebook photo! Great thinking on your feet! I don't think I've seen the photo, but your description certainly explains why the students might have been interested.

MizT, the gentle rain would make for a very restful morning. I'm glad you could enjoy it! I hope the hot dog/picnic hit the spot for you and the other residents! I also hope your new BP med will work and any side effects will be minimal!

June, that is certainly a large tour group. Hopefully everyone will get along well as you tour Greece! Have a wonderful time!

Heidi, it would be nice to think that Sassy's owner/s would have a change of heart and pick her up. They should rightfully be the ones to surrender her to the shelter. It seems they have taken the coward's way out. I suspect her hyperactivity contributes to the difficulty with house breaking, plus perhaps a feeling of abandonment.

I hope Col's follow-up visit to the cardiologist is uneventful on Thursday, Cyn!

Tami, what a nice treat to go out to dinner with your in-laws, so you wouldn't have to prepare the meal. It also sounds like you didn't need to work at Target, so hopefully a relaxing day for you!

Heidi, hopefully all of the RV paper work can be taken care of tomorrow, if possible. There shouldn't be any further delays.

MizT, I'm so glad you were able to convince your friend to call the medics and go to the hospital. I would think she would have been extremely frightened. Apparently, her son wasn't frightened or concerned. Fortunately your beef stew didn't burn or over-cook while you tended to your friend.

Viv how is the new bedroom coming along? I hope you enjoy it every time you step inside!

Nola, I hope all of the repairs are coming along well!

Broni, good news that you are feeling better! Sending positive thoughts, prayers, {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, healing vibes and to all of you, whether I have mentioned you or not!

June - snap!! That's where we stayed. Did you go down to the basement and see the ruins underneath the hotel? The shopping at the Plaka is very tourist oriented - but you are a tourist! Don't forget to buy an 'evil eye' (usually blue) - they ward off evil spirits.

Good Morning all, Well today is the big day for Angelique....school starts for her in a couple of hours. She is going only in the afternoon hours. She has a completely new outfit, hair freshly washed and fixed in a cute way, new supplies, and a stomach full of butterflies. I will take her, along with her Mom, but they come home on the big school bus where we meet her. It lets them out right down the street from me. She has never ridden the bus before so that too is a new
experience...Its exciting and hopefully she will have a blast. The teacher seems to be nice and has lots of experience making little ones feel comfortable. I could not deal with this many little ones so I have great respect for those who can.
Heidi, hope this is a new start for you too and you get the paperwork that's needed done correctly...so many problems with this purchase,
and Florida trip, but that's behind you now...keeping fingers crossed that we'll only hear good news from how enjoyable it is to own an RV.
Go Suzy Go....You were born to teach and that quick thinking shows it...you are able to make anything a lesson or discussion point...WAY TO GO...I'm proud of you.
June, the trip sounds wonderful...so much to see and enjoy...looking forward to seeing some of these wonderful sights when you have been able to post pictures after you return home and had a chance to sort them...meanwhile, continue to enjoy for all of us., It was good to see you post Theresa...I'm sure your life is way busy now so it
was so good you were able to find just a minute to say hi to us and let us know you are okay. Broni, so very good to know that you too are on the mend and Julie...how are the cello lessons
going now that you had to learn to hold the cello differently? Do you notice much difference? Does it hurt or feel better in the new position? How were you able to snatch time from your busy schedule to post during the day...wow...what a treat to see an early post from you. Tricia...Your neighbor is finding out just how lucky she is to find someone able to sweet talk her into getting proper care...good onya. Good to know your meds allowed you to feel up to being a true friend in need and your old training at listening to what one is feeling giving you a clue that it was time to have a better look by doctors equipped to treat lots of things that may have been the cause of the
high b.p and breathing problems. Tami, I'm wishing you a great school year and more nice students than trouble-making ones, but knowing you, you will deal no matter who is in your class room. Cyn, thinking of you and Col with high hopes that your bad experiences with health scares will
finally be over after this last visit with the Cardiologist and life can return to normal for you both.
Well, I'm out of here for now and keeping nothing but high hopes for all...Peace.

Sassy is gone. I hated to take her to the pound, where it's possible that she could be euthanized in a minimum of 2 weeks from now, but I didn't want her here. I then did some grocery shopping, and then went over to cousin Don's to help him hook up his bush hog. In a few minutes, I'm going to mow the lawn. I decided to go to the RV dealership in the morning tomorrow instead of this afternoon.

Hi all. Had a nice relaxing day on Monday and really enjoyed my omelet for dinner. Today was back to reality. Things are settling down with the trouble kids that I have. For the most part they are starting to buy into the program. Friday we are taking them bowling, the first of our field trips and one they requested. One teacher will stay back with those that get in trouble tomorrow or do not bring in paperwork. Hopefully it won't be too many. Thursday is no school again, as it is a Jewish Holiday. I am going out with my family on Wednesday night and Thursday just making a quiet dinner for the four of us.

Ahhhhh, I just lost a long post! I clicked over to find out what holiday tomorrow was, forgot I would loose everything I had written.

I reported that friend did stay overnight in hospital. I had heard lst night that her BP and heart rate started down when they gave her oxygen. doc has wanted her on oxygen at home for some time, but she refused. I think she believes admitting she needs oxygen is giving up, admitting she is dying. I do hope we and docs can convince her now that she has seen how much other functions beside breathing improve with it's use. We will try.

I remember wishing Tami a good relaxing Wednesday night with family observing her holiday. and I will NOT go to try to find name of holiday and loose this hehehe. Hope your students behave themselves both tomorrow and on the field trip.

Heidi, good that you postponed the RV dealership trip to tomorrow. You had a lot to do while out and then grass cutting when you got home, enough is enough. I hope you enjoy your dinner at the cousins.

Mama, hope Angilique had a good first day at school, and no more butterflies after today. Happy her bus stop is near and convenient for you.

OK, that is what I can reconstruct. Not nearly as good as the one that got away

Hugs to each of you, with extras.

Hi, Everyone!

Suzy, thanks for sharing the photo! I hope you are able to get your preparations for each day done early so you can relax!

Mama, Angelique is such a cutie! I hope every school day is as exciting as her first.

Heidi, you got a lot accomplished! Good plan to postpone the RV until tomorrow. It's a shame you had to deliver Sassy to the pound. Can they try to force her owners to come in and 'officially' surrender her?

Tami, I hope any troublesome kids will soon buy into your program and make your teaching days easier! Good luck with the bowling field trip! Enjoy the holiday.

MizT, how awful that you lost your initial post! I'm glad your friend stayed overnight in the hospital. Does that mean she has now returned? I hope your meds are working and without side effects.

It's time to get to bed. Sending {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, positive thoughts, prayers, healing vibes and

The owners don't need to officially surrender her. They abandoned her. I talked to people who run boarding kennels, and they consider a dog abandoned after 3 days of no contact from the owners, after the day the dog was to be picked up. Sassy was 9 days with no contact. I did tell the people at the pound the story, and gave them the owner's name who abandoned her.

We leave in an hour and a half for the RV dealership. ''We'' means me AND cousin Barb, who's interested in getting an RV, too. I'm going to let her drive mine a little, and teach her how to empty the sewage and gray water tanks. This way, too, she can look at the assortment of RVs and campers that they have. Her husband Don is having a fit about her spending a lot of money , or any money, on a RV, so I particularly want to show her an R-Pod. It's a small on the outside/big on the inside camper (not a pop-up) that can be pulled behind her car and only costs a few thousand new. But I also want her to learn to use my RV in case she decides that borrowing mine is a viable option..... I've offered it to her whenever she wants to use it. She's a great driver who has driven trucks before, and can be trusted with it.

Back from the RV dealership. I had a chat with the owner about the registration, and he was surprised. He told me that he, personally, handled the registration and everything was in order on his end. He said that the problem is with the State of Kentucky, who take forever to enter registrations into their system. He also told me that they finally got the papers from the previous owner, and the license plates will be in tomorrow.
Barb had a fun time looking at campers and motor homes. She decided that an R Pod is exactly what she needs and wants, and is going to look for a used one, so she can get a better price. She also now knows how to empty out the sewage and dirty water, and agrees with me that it's really easy to do.
Now I'm heading up to Pain Management for another meds pick up.

We are now in Nafplion, once the anciet capitol of Greece. Situated on the water with a lovely village atmosphere and lots of gelati icecream. Today we visited Corinth. I stood on the basa (court house)where the Corinthians took the Apostle Paul to court. Sort of gives one goose bumps. Lovely hotel tonight and good internet coverage.
Cyn we are back in Athens on Sunday night till we leave on the Wednesday.

I bet it feels like you traveled back in time, June.

I wasted my afternoon. I drove up to Pain Management, an hour each way, to pick up my prescription. IH needed some papers picked up at the same hospital for a sleep study he's going through this weekend, so I figured that as long as I was in the same building..... I talked to them yesterday and told them I would be picking up the papers for him at 2 pm today, and they said OK. When I get there, there was a sign on their door saying they closed at noon. So I didn't get the papers. Then I walked over to Pain management and picked up the prescription. From there, I drove an hour to my pharmacy and dropped it off, telling them I'd pick up the drugs tomorrow. When I got home, the phone was ringing. It was the pharmacy. The doctor had made a mistake on the prescription and they couldn't fill it. This is a very controlled substance so it can't be corrected over the phone. I have been repeatedly told that I can only pick up my prescriptions on Wednesday before 4 pm. The phone call was at 4:15 pm. I don't have enough meds to make it for 2 days, much less until next week. So I called the doctor's office and they're going to have another doctor write me a prescription tomorrow. I'm going to have a lot of driving tomorrow, because I have a dental appointment in a far distant town. Maybe I should have stayed in bed today.

June, I'm so excited hearing about your travels around Greece. I want to go back!! Did you go up to the Parthenon at the Acropolis? Those marble steps take some negotiating. But up the top you get such a sense of the history of the place it's magic.
Mama - I'm glad Angelique had a good first day. She looked so lovely.
Tricia - I hope you friend sees sense about the oxygen.
Heidi - what a wasted journey.

We went up the Parthenon. They are doing a lot of repair work at the moment. They have a new museum nearby (not far from the hotel) which is built over the remains of the old city. It has glass floors. It works its way up as though you are climbing the steps to the parthenon and has lots of the artifacts displayed.

Back from the cardiologist, Col got the all-clear for now, but we must always be on the lookout for Q Fever type symptoms (similar to Chronic Fatigue) because the damage could be worsened if another infection hits his heart. It is possible that in the future they may have to replace the valve but all is well otherwise with his cardiac health - no cholesterol, no blockages, BP fine. It's sort of a phew! with a warning, I suppose.

Sorry guys. I know it's early, but I'm brain dead. I enjoy reading and there is a lot of good stuff happening at the moment so that is good, but I can't think well enough to comment properly. How does Julie do it???!!!

June's trip sounds fantastic.

Luckily I have no prep to do for tomorrow. I left lessons for whomever is covering for me and I'm off to Luna Park.

Is it whomever, or whoever in that sentence?

vdV hasn't said much so I think this is still an interim stage. Maybe a ceremony still to do? Or a few signatures? I would have been bouncing off the walls and making capital letter statuses! So proud to know him.

Morning all. I have read the posts but am too brain dead to remember what I have read.

The holiday is Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year.

Mama, I saw the picture of Angelique on tos and she looked so cute. I am really glad she likes school. I cried bloody murder my first day of school, I did not want to go. My older brother never liked school so why would I want to go? I am glad that my nieces and nephews all liked school so Mitchell and Dylan had good things to look at. Also, they both had good experiences in preschool, so it was not a big difference.
