Hi Martha! I quickly scanned your 3 pages to see if I had visited you before. I apologize that apparently I have not!! Today I came to see if there might be a picture of your early-rising dog. None found, but I did find you & your teen age or early 20's children. Gee, you're just a young gal! You asked about CP so thought I would answer here on your page. CP is a Sudoku abbreviation for "serial post", which with some kidding (as is typical among us!) got changed to CEREAL post, hence the spelling with a C rather than an S. Anytime anyone manages to post five comments in a row with no one else in between we say they have accomplished a CP!! We get our thrills in strange little ways, don't we! Kind of like what a big kick some people get out of starting a new page every 40th message - oh well! Have a good day. Maybe you can take a nap later since you got up so early!!!

Glad to see your photo of Lucky. He (?) looks like a very alert type dog with those big perky ears at attention! Does the name Lucky have some special significance? I'm not familiar with kelpies. Guess I will google & try to learn more about them.

Taking the time to say thank you for your message of love and support through the tough times with my mum, and her death. My heart has been lifted by the warmth and love shown to me here.

Hi Martha, and so glad you dropped by for a visit. Yes, it seems when it's hot here, it's humid too, and this weekend is supposed to be quite unpleasant. Not to mention what happens to my hair in the humidity! Oh, well, we'll make the most of it, take the hardtop off the Miata and go for a drive with the top down ... Canadians complained about the long winter this year, but really, to me, it was just a normal winter for a change, with enough snow to make things look pretty. Not too cold at all, but people do like to grouse about something, and the media doesn't help by announcing things like "the worst winter in years."
Anyway, I'll drop off some Niagara ice wine for you to share with friends this weekend for dessert--just have a small glass, because the hangover is abominable!

Hi Martha. Just making a few visits to folks and ironically I come right after Cathy. Despite the comments from those who live in Southern Ontario, the winter here in Ottawa (North Eastern Ontario) was the harshest in years, with near record snowfall and many days in the minus 20s and 30s. If your fridge had broken down here, you only needed to walk outside to get your ice! Hope all is well in your part of the world!

Thanks so much for visiting my page and leaving such a nice birthday message. All the messages from the far corners of the world have really added to my celebration. Thank you for making my birthday brighter!

Where are the domes that are pictured, unfinished, on my page? those are in North Carolina. These are built from kits my husband makes and sells. He had to go up and help this customer out, they were having a problem he could not solve via e-mail, photos and instructions. Operator error on thier part, but he got them straight. That customer has moved into thier house now!

check us out at http://albatadomes.com/ if you would like.

Yes, it took more than 3 days to answer, I had LOT of messages on my page and in my box! Also, I was kind of busy celebrating, and being away from computer, so that added to the delay in getting them done!

Did you mean the photos that says "A cluster of domes in the fall"? or the "Our domes in our big snow"? Those are our domes! Still a work in progress, but hubby uses the one far right with the white half glass door as his office. It is almost finished inside, has insulation and water to his bathroom just off it.

The largest dome, in the center, is his temporary shop. Recently he has expanded into the one far right also. SOMEDAY, after he builds his permenant shop, this will become our home, IF we live long enough!

MARTHA, the domes are made of wood, 2x6 spruce timbers and 5/8 inch 8 ply plywood, oplus 3/4 plywwood for the hubs. there is a LOT of math hehe.

Look at the domes that are "see through" (one of them seems to stay up as most visited) . This is the framing, made up of struts and hubs. there is lots of maths in this, to make straight struts build a "round" building.

The struts are cut to certain lengths, and color coded. Ends of each strut are cut at an angle then a notch is cut at another angle. they fit onto different shaped hubs. Hubs are made of 3/4 inch plywood, and they have metal brackets that act to alighn the struts properly. Some hubs are for the pentagons and some for the hexagons. Can you pick out pentagons and hexagons on the framing photos? Hint, hexagons are over the large openings.

Dear hubby did/does lots of maths and formulas for each size of dome we build. If someone wants some odd size, not offered, he can figure the new cut lengths from a formula.

Martha, I think your coffee chocolate ( I am imagining a coffee flavor center covered in a rich dark cholate) may be different from my chocolate coffee. But a nice story follows even if I am wrong.

Back when I was working hospital, divorced with a child at home, I had to work every other weekend. Her Dad had to have her the weekend I worked. So if I wanted to go out, date, it was on the weekend I worked. And after I met and was dating current hubby, well, we kept some very late hours. Just coffee ( always available in our little kitchen near the nurses station) was not enough to keep me awake and focused. So, I would add chocolate milk! Chocolate coffee, double the caffien!
