Stop being afraid of what could go wrong and start being positive of what could go right.

Why am I not listening to this myself??????? A friend posted this on the other site.

We have a life insurance nurse here this morning doing some tests on hubby before he renews his policy. She is not terribly friendly. I suggested she run her tests in the bathroom because that is one of the only rooms in the house where there are no cats and the door can close. The downstairs is all open concept. But no, she insisted it be done in the kitchen. So I am sitting at the computer watching the cats go into the kitchen. You know how cats are, if something or someone new comes into the house, they have to investigate. I, on the other hand, am just sitting at the computer being totally amused. I can be a bit of a jerk sometimes.

Theresa....better someone like her works for an insurance company than actually cares for patients in a hospital. I wonder why she chose nursing as a profession?
I'd be laughing behind her back, too.

I got up early and let the puppies out to play. I's also kept the 2 Gypsy Vanner girls inside for the night, so I let them out, too. I'm bringing Sere in every night for extra care and feed, and Whimsey is still a growing girl who needs extra feed.

Hi, Everyone! Hoping to get to bed early tonight, as tomorrow is another early start. (I know; i'm saying that more and more.)

Hubby and I had a 2.5 hour introduction to stained glass class this morning. It was a gift (wedding anniversary, if I remember correctly) from younger D. We were required to use a given pattern (a 4 inch square 'sun catcher' using 5 pieces of glass, all with straight edges), but could choose glass from three shallow boxes of 'scrap' pieces. We both independently chose patterned clear pieces for the outside and a piece of colored glass for the inside. Hopefully we'll have some sun in a day or two to see how they look.

Great TOPP, Theresa! Sounds like excellent advice!

Theresa, that insurance company nurse sounds like a 'piece of work,' as we sometimes say. We had one a few years ago with a similar personality. She seemed shocked when we honestly answered some of her medical history questions. I guess people lie in the hopes of getting better rates.

Heidi, Sere does NOT look like she's carrying a foal. I hope she adds a healthy one to the population of our farm next month!

I hope your mouth soon feels better, Heidi!

Thinking of you, Mama, on your special day! Hope you have an outstanding day and are treated royally by family and friends! Happy Birthday Mama! Have a wonderful day with lots of presents and refreshments! Happy Birthday!

Thinking of all of you and sending a full supply of positive thoughts, healing vibes, prayers, and {{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}

I need to feed and water the birds, then head off to bed. I have to have Patch at the Vet Clinic in 9 hours. Snip, snip. We aren't gonna have any more accidental puppies.

My memory is poor and I know that there are lots of comments I should make but I will just send ((HUGS)) to everyone who needs or would like them.

Patch is now at the Vet Clinic. He won't be fathering any more surprise puppies. Even IH is celebrating him getting his nuts cut off. At 6 years old, it won't change his disposition, thankfully. Just his reproductive ability.

He's had a couple of close calls.... including the time we were castrating calves... had a reluctant one in the chute... IH climbed in the chute to push it.... and foolishly bent over in front of the Vet with scalpel in hand. I TRIED to get the Vet to make 2 quick cuts, but he wouldn't.

Morning all
Freezing my butt off so I'll try to make this quick..

June, you have been working hard! Hopefully it will nice when it is finished..

So glad the polyp is not C.... what a relief for you!

Nola, warm hugs for you.

MizT, it's been ages now so I hope the UTI is gone along with the fibro flare...I hope you've caught up in the sign language class.

Heidi, yay for Sere being pregnant!

Theresa, that life insurance nurse sounds like a piece of work. Life insurance is a pretty competitive industry. I bet her bosses wouldn't be impressed!

Julie, your stained glass class sounds like fun, but someone needs to tell your kids not to give you more stuff to 'do' for your birthday but rather something that will give you time off... a cleaner for example.

Suzy, I am hanging in here. the meds for the UTI made me very sick, getting better now, but for a couple days I lay in bed not moving, cause the nausea came in waves if I did. I think this happened last time I took antibiotic, I must check if it was the same one. So I did not get to 3 classes this week, they had an extra cause of holiday coming Monday . I hope I can catch up next week, we will see.

I heard today my chair was approved by insurance, should be here next week. I hope this 'next week' does not take as long as so many others have.

Headed to bed early, and nope, no early appointments, just the need for extra sleep. I did read, but forgot who said what. Will try again tomorrow.

Do remember Heidi's funny about Gil bending over in front of vet with scalpel in hand, got a chuckle over that hehehe.

Huge hugs for each of you, with extra for the taking. till later.

I had to get up early today. Today is the day that ''they'' put the flags on the veterans graves at the local cemetery. One of the people who usually do it just had surgery 2 days ago, so I've been drafted. Fortunately, there's a map of the cemetery with all of the veteran's graves noted. Otherwise, it would be darned near impossible. The Civil War graves are unreadable. I have to be there in one hour. And all I want to do is go back to sleep.

It took 2 1/2 hours for 8 of us to get the flags up. Most of the time was spent searching for the graves.... some of which are very old and worn. I was told that there was a map. There wasn't. Just a list of names and the general area where they're supposed to be located. It turned out that I was the best at reading old headstones. The sad part was some of the vandalized headstones. There was one name on the list that we couldn't find, though we all walked the cemetery several times looking for it. I suspect that it was one of the unreadable vandalized stones.

Great top Theresa...and do read and heed...it's great advice.
I had an absolutely wonderful birthday and have copied and pasted(big deal for me..lol) my message put on FB, since I do believe it starts with you in mind.
Today I have been fortunate enough to celebrate my birthday! This time last year I was fighting for my life...and won, so anything that happened today would be great. Yet once again, I read all of the beautiful words in the many post on this site and other sites I frequent, I read the cards sent and get to enjoy the very personal phone calls as am amazed that they are meant for me. All of this love only reinforces the beauty of sharing love...the key to life...and you all have contributed to my life in ways you may never know...but do know how much I appreciate all that I have had the honor to receive over these many years....Thank You all...You have made an old lady happy once again!
I'off to play some games...may get back later...Peace.

Sorry I have been MIA for a few days. It is the end of the school year and I have been under pressure to grade papers. I have the kids that have failed classes in the past and they are trying to make them up this year. My class is the one that can get a kid out of middle school or keep them here for another year. There are two more weeks of school but I think most of my kids will be OK. The ones who skip or are absent I can't do anything for.

I have a good story to share. Today was the 8th grade promotion ceremony, held at the local high school. I was working backstage as a stagehand for the band. One of my boys, Stephon, is in band. He failed a 2 classes in past years and has been worried. I kept telling him to be in class and do his best and I would make sure that he passed. He saw me backstage and walked over. I put out my hand but he ignored it and pulled me into a hug. He gave me a kiss on the cheek and whispered into my ear, 'I love you.' I did cry. He is one boy I will never forget. Another student, Choulmy, came over and also gave a big hug and told me that he appreciates all I did for him. Needles to say, the two of them are good friends. They made sure they were the last two to get their certificates and they 'acted up' on stage. They started dancing and Stephon helped Choulmy do a backflip. The class loved it and I think even the principal was happy. Some of the kids who got promoted today I had for three years. 6th grade math, 7th grade geography and this year in 8th grade.
