Bongaloo

'What is a Bongaloo, Daddy?'
'A Bongaloo, Son,' said I,
'Is a tall bag of cheese
Plus a Chinaman's knees
And the leg of a nanny goat's eye.'

'How strange is a Bongaloo, Daddy?'
'As strange as strange,' I replied.
'When the sun's in the West
It appears in a vest
Sailing out with the noonday tide.'

'What shape is a Bongaloo, Daddy?'
'The shape, my Son, I'll explain:
It's tall round the nose
Which continually grows
In the general direction of Spain.'

'Are you sure there's a Bongaloo, Daddy?'
'Am I sure, my Son?' said I.
'Why, I've seen it, not quite
On a dark sunny night

Do you think that I'd tell you a lie?

To make everybody happy, I just took puppy pictures. I'm now on my way to the 1 hour processing, once I put the puppies back in their pen and feed them lunch. With my luck, their machine will be broken again and they'll have to send the film out to be developed. That happens half the time I take film in.

The film is there, but the person who knows how to run the machine wasn't. They told me it would be 3 hours instead of 1. I'll try to be there before they close at 8 pm.

See! I AM trying!

Good Morning everyone. Hope everyone is fit and well. I have had excruciating stomach pains and diarrhoea for the last six months. I was blaming the Tramadol tablets and then the morphine patches which I have been on for the last month. Anyhow it has worn me down and this morning went to the doctors again. I have taken a sample and will get it tested. He thinks maybe Giardia. I hope it is something that simple. He will ring me he said if anything shows up.

Also it is Ethan's last day with the council today. He did his 2 year traineeship and then did 2 months on casual but then got his termination notice for today. He was going to move to Newcastle but now he is not sure what he wants.

Hi all. Just a quick visit. Dad came home today. I am taking a 'mental health' day tomorrow. I am going to chaperone a field trip with Dylan's school. 100 6th graders will be going to the zoo. I am not the teacher, I am just the mommy Why do I think seeing all the animals are going to remind me of my students???

TAMI, good to know your dad is back home. Hope his health improves and he can continue at home, doing well. A day off from students to go with students to the zoo? And you call it a mental health day? You are a brave soul.

VIV, hope Ethan finds something he wants to do and at a distance so you gain the wardrobe space May your stomach pains resolve, that constant pain can drag you down.

Eyes bothering me, thought was dirty glasses but cleaning only changed the problem, and not for better. I do hope it is not start of a migraine, I am too busy for such. Forgive any mistakes, really having trouble seeing.

HEIDI, thanks for trying, will look forward to puppy photos tomorrow, yeah. Napis good, has priority over trip back to town. Like your poem, cute.

OK, just cannot cope with this blurry vision. I am off to do something, although probably not sleep. I am just up from a 4 hour nap myself, after a very busy day today. Groceries, and only the cold things are put away. It took TWO trips up with loading my walker with as much as it would hold. to the pool, while groceries rested in cooler in car, but they stayed frosty cold, no problem, and the styrofoam cooler just fits on the seat of the rolling walker. On second trip down, I carried jugs, and watered all my plants. Met up with one of my neighbors, Ramona, and we sat on patio and chatted. Every time I go down, someone remarks on the flowers, how pretty they are, how they are enjoying them. I did not expect this bonus when I did this. Busy continues tomorrow, too, we have the second sign language class of the week.

OK, definately eye signs of a migrain now, I see the zig zag yellow line. I am off, Hugs to each of you, with extras.

I needed the nap. I didn't sleep well last night. I spent most of the night worshiping the porcelain god. Some jerk put pepper on my steak last night.

Greetings from Illinois.

I can't stay long, as we have another early get-up (about 8 days in a row, I think). I'm not sleeping well when in bed, as my CPAP machine completely quit and the company I must work with for replacement is dragging their feet. Recital is Friday night and had some 'glitches' in the run-through last night. Didn't get home until about 11:45 p.m. Had a lesson today and some suggested changes, which will require a multitude of practices. I hope I can pull it together on time, as tomorrow is puppy-sitting.

Wanted to thank all of you for the prayers, positive thoughts and healing vibes you sent for Jane, the wife of hubby's colleague. She is home from rehab and shows no residual effects from her stroke. Luckily she is young and in excellent health (a personal trainer), and was in the hospital for childbirth when the stroke happened. It still required weeks in the rehab hospital to make her come-back.

Great TOPP, Heidi, and a pretty new bird! Looking forward to puppy pictures tomorrow.

Tami, I'm so glad your Dad is back at home. I hope he continues on the road to recovery! Enjoy your day at the zoo with Dylan and classmates!

Viv, I hope your stomach ailments can be sorted out sooner, rather than later!

MizT and Rolanda, I hope your migraines are soon gone!

Happy Birthday, Rolanda!

Sending lots of {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, positive thoughts, prayers, healing vibes and

Morning friends, I had a good sleep in this morning. It was after 2 am fore I got to sleep so it was needed. Migraine is better, dull headache today. I hate the eye signs thing, and seem to forget the blurred vision is the first sign, followed by the bright zig zag lines. To me that is worse than the headache, or as bad.

Today is Sign language class. I cannot find my notebook and notes from first classes. It was in basket of walker, unless I took those out in auto, I am not sure where they were.

My computer was acting up, not showing videos or show a bit and freeze. I wanted to do practice test on the ASL site I am using for self study. It worked last night, and I watched instructor sign and then chose correct answer from list. 48 questions, did 90% correct and did MUCH better on the last ones that were sentences instead of isolated words. BUT I am sure I could not have just read them, sdome of them, without the multiple guess. 'I know it is not one, did not see WHY in the signs, Nor two, did not see teacher.' that kind of elimination to focus on the other 2 and figure it out. But many I knew by sight first seeing, I am learning! and it is fun. Hands still sore from me signing, but will rub them with meds before I go today. I really want to learn this.

Heidi, glad you got caught up with sleep with your nap. Pepper makes you that sick? Now terrible someone put pepper on your steak. Accident you think??

Cyn, get well soon. A funeral is hard enough without being unwell also.

JULIE, unfair, teacher should not make changes 2 days before recital!! I hope you find time to practice and feel comfortable with it by Friday night. will be thinking of you.

Wishing you a good Maen . Hugs to each of you, with extras.

No, the pepper on my steak was intentional. The president of our Cattlemen's Association is a jerk and thinks it's funny to put pepper on my food, knowing how sick it makes me. I've had numerous talks with him on the subject. It's like talking to a wall. No, worse. The wall doesn't laugh at my concerns.

roni, thank you, I think the headache is gone, just a fuzzy head feeling.

Sign language class again today. Our instructor has a broken rib, broke it coughing. Do not need to catch whatever she has. and how she was able to sign with that broken rib I do not know. she did stop mid sentence once with an OH, when something pulled wrong.

We have 3 classmates who are from outside EP. One is the retired police chief who is now a clown who visits Children's Hospital. One joined last class, he is retired man who is teaching a bible class for deaf in a large church, through interpreter. he wants to learn to sign for himself. Today another joined, she is a nurse who wants to go back to work but with ability to communicate with the deaf.

I am finding some of the signs I learn online are not same used here in class, that is gonna be confusing. but I still like how online class is taught, what words, much better than way local class is taught. Perhaps too, it is because I can go back and back again over something online, till I know it.

Time to do some practice before bedtime, after another long nap when I came in today, I will probably be late going to sleep. Hugs to each of you, with extras.

Heidi, I cannot believe that a grown man would put pepper on your food when he knows it will make you sick, keep you awake all night. To laugh at you when you talk to him about it is even worse. If it is not a crime to intentionally, purposefully make another sick, it should be. I do believe it would at least be actionable in a court of law. His laughing at you, ignoring your talk, proves intent to make you ill. A visit from local police might change his mind, unless the chief of police or local sheriff is his cousin or best buddy.

I really cannot get over the feeling of disbelief over an adult person acting like this. And I am very angry he is doing this to you. I will throw cyber rocks at him, big ones! Cyber rocks do not hurt him, but it makes me feel better

Hi everyone,
Heidi, the pictures are great, and the pups are as adorable as we all knew they would be. Your newest bird is beautiful ...Enjoy!
Tami, Glad your Dad's out of the hospital and wishing him a full recovery of his strength and sending patience vibes for you and Bobbi so that both of you can get through his recovery period in good shape..lol.
Nola and Julie, hope you both hold up under this stressful period in your lives...and Julie, it does seem like many months of up early and sleep a tad before starting your days...
Rola, sorry your birthday was marred by the migraine, but hope it had faded enough for you to enjoy your day. Miz T, glad you were able to chase yours away quickly and was able to enjoy your signing class.
Cyn, Hope the funeral and all that entails goes w/o a hitch or emotions get out of control, and that you have managed to regain enough of a health repair to get you through the trials and tribulations that often seem to occur during stress filled times.
To those we haven't seen or heard from in a while, hope things for them are running w/o much drama or too many rough edges...Suzy, you are so on my mind...Not sure why, but look forward to hearing that all is well with you. Dana hasn't said anything that makes me think any thing bad is happening, so I hope you are finally getting caught up on all that you needed or wanted to get done.Judy, you too have been in my thoughts...so ladies...let us know all is well and that you are just busy. Viv, had to chuckle at your wanting your son to move on so that you could paint the room purple....love it ...seriously though, I do hope he'll be able to find something soon and you get your chance.
All is well here, busy playing games and reading..see you in the funny papers folks..tada and Peace.

Feeling a little better today.
Funeral is over and we are back home. It was a lovely and loving tribute to a wonderful man. Shed a few tears as I expected and a few unexpected ones - when a photo collage was screened during the service and I saw my Mum and then my Dad as well as Jimmy's parents, also gone.
Felt sad that those times are gone but that's life and Jimmy's legacy is a wonderful family and the many, many friends who came along today.
His hearse even had an escort from the local Fire Brigade of which he was a member for many years.
A little laugh - he wanted a BeeGees song to be played today - when asked which one he said 'Stayin' Alive' of course!! They chose a more appropriate one.
RIP Jimmy

I haven't read yet and I'm pages and pages behind...

Daily anecdote for now. One of my classes today was year 11 general math and I had to teach them linear equations, including gradient and y intercept. They found it tough and I basically went through it one on one with them until I came upon a roadblock. The y intercept for one problem was 0.4. Nope, don't understand decimals... So a two minute coverage of decimals, (which I think are first talked about in primary school.) I blame calculators, they just stick the numbers in without getting a feel for what they really mean.

Cyn, RIP Jimmie The funeral sounds like it was a wonderful farewell, though I think they should have played his choice of song - with an intro of course explaining that he chose it.

June, I hope Laura had a nice chat with her mum, catching her up on what she has been up to. Very clever of her teacher to give her the class mascot for that particular day. hugs and

Theresa, your mother's day sounds lovely. I hope the nap helped the achies..

Heidi, I'm reading Fat Vampire. It's kind of a spoof on all the vampire books and so far I'm enjoying it..

Tami, thinking of you and your dad... hugs and

Hi Nola, they used to call a late then early a quick shift, back when I spent my 3 weeks in hospital. It never made sense to me, coming from industry, as I kept thinking of all the other shift work jobs that manage to schedule without them...

Heidi, I disagree about the animals being better behaved. You're forgetting who their teacher is!

Viv, sorry to hear Ethan is dithering... a purple room sounds too nice to wait.

Gentle hugs MizT, I hope your migraine is gone by now - (I'm still only up to yesterday) Glad to hear it is much better. Your signing classes sound like fun... I will look at the link another time, trying to catch up first.

Julie, good luck with your practices. So glad to hear about Jane. I didn't even get to spend a weekend in last time, did everything outpatient. I'm feeling it though, no stamina and what little muscle I had is turning to blubber. Trying to work out if we can afford for me to join a fitness centre as I'm just not doing it alone...

Heidi, tell the jerk that the next time he does it it's going to be his porcelain god you're going to nurse and he'd better be ready to hold your hair out of the way! Or better yet, tell him you'll sue him for assault. Maybe get a lawyer friend to draft a letter...

Okay, I think I did it, but I'm sure I've missed saying something I wanted to say. I know there were a couple of wonderful Mamacita posts in there somewhere, hope I said something... I'll check after I've posted.

Hugs to Mamacita...

Don't quite know why I haven't been around as much. I haven't been on the computer as much because it's COLD down in this room, that could be it.

I have a new phone. There was nothing wrong with my old one but when we got the notification that I could upgrade now we talked about it and decided I'd get a new one and Alie could have my old one. I'm feeling kind of cool as the phone I have is the one they are advertising, not the one before that is obsolete!

I'm up early to clean the puppy pen, play with them and feed them before I get cleaned up and dressed. Everybody is meeting here at 10:30 am to coordinate plans and caravan up there. There are 12 of us in my group and I'm the only one who knows how to get there.

IH and I had a long talk after he got home last night, about the jerk who thinks it's funny to put pepper on my food (and has also prevented me from joining in at the cooks at the county fair and other places by throwing pepper at me when I go up to the grill. The jerk is a friend of IH's. I told IH that this has gone on too long and at the next meeting I'm planning on standing up before the entire club and telling everyone what he's been doing to me. He won't listen to me, so maybe public humiliation will work. IH got very upset over that idea and told me that he would talk to the jerk and tell him that we BOTH are quitting the association if he doesn't stop with the pepper. He'll be seeing him tomorrow and will talk to him then, he says. Knowing IH, he'll get spineless and wishy-washy over this and won't do a thing. Then I get to go with public humiliation, my weapon of choice.

Good morning everyone...Tami, I agree that it sounds like the jerk is trying to get rid of Heidi for some reason...fear perhaps and her course sounds like a good one. Public pressure can help stop it even if the humiliation doesn't.
Hope recovery and joy, as well as good news is going on around all who enjoy this site whether they are posters or not, but particularly with those who are our friends, sisters and members of
SA.
Nothing much going on this weekend for me other than church and the usual stuff here at home, but that I can do those things is great because this time last year I was still confined to a nursing home recovering from my accident, and I so appreciate being able to do the 'usual stuff' when I need or want to...Yea...Life is good.
