Wow, this is the most active SA3 has been in a while! I wasn't sure I would get to the end of the comments to find out what has been going on.

Also it's a little matter of it's Gath's site! What he says should go!

Anonymous people can be polite, and there are many reasons for remaining anonymous. But to use anonymity to behave badly is cowardice.

I agree, Mary. Gath has every right to make decisions about how he runs things!

I thought there had been suggestions that the person who was banned continues to visit and post. Wouldn't Gath have that figured out?

I always post under my name. If someone gets upset with me, let them say something. I'm a big girl.

They could probably use a different server.

I guess I'm not clever enough to join under an assumed name. My name has been Julie since I was born, and that's the way I joined here.

Julie, not neccesarily. All you have to do is tell your provider to change your IP because you are having problems. Also, if you have dial-up, your IP changes each time. They can be traced by the provider, but not always by the website host.

If Gath doesn't capture the computer's registry number he has no way to keep anyone out. If he said you had to be registered to chat. If you registered under another name and with a different e-mail address, he would have no way of knowing.

For the most part, I think SA has had a very warm and safe atmosphere. On very rare occasions I have seen a post made by someone who is not a regular that can be hurtful or thoughtless or rude, but, luckily, it doesn't seem to happen as often as on Easy.

I just wrote a sentence fragment, and I left a question mark off a few posts back. I think I'm loosing it.

I also think it is ok to post under a nickname as long as you do so consistently. It's when someone logs out and posts something to say something they don't want attributed to them, then what Ruby said is right, it is cowardice.

We have 5 different computers, but they all share the same IP. All they can tell is that the post came from the same location.

Boy, that Ian is quick to make insulting assumptions.

The trouble is that you can open as many windows as you want to this site. From there you can post under as many names as you wish.

Ladies..hello...I just want to say ...I love you...all of the chatter about the chatroom is so funny to me...I've been around for a good while now..almost 2 years, and have seen many problems, but will not go into them because rehashing bad stuff doesn't help, but you all seem to be on target. Becky, I missed the two sp's saying they hated the other...what date was that? I didn't use the chat room that much, and don't really care, but I think Gath had a good reason why he doesn't want to re visit that...so be it. The non members will have to choose between what they want ..a principle or being part of a fun site....

I was the brunt of a comment from Ian once - on here. I was very hurt and apologized to him for including something he thought was offensive. Mamacita said I didn't need to do that, but I was just so shocked that I was attacked.

When I first started to post here with the old laptop, I used to have 2 windows open here. One to post on and the other to keep up with everyone else. I have to hit the back arrow twice after I post, then the forward arrow once to get back to the current page. Hitting the refresh button gives me an error message.

On window computers you can shrink your current screen and open up another internet connection. I'm not sure how many you can do. It probably depends on how fast your machine is.
