Hi ans Bye!

Joy was down today, she was going to do a small chore for me, and managed to turn it into hours of work, all of it in the laundry pantry. This closet that contains the washer and dryer is just larger than the pair, so how can we spend hours and what prompted it? Well, it is like the spot on the wall . . .

My dryer was taking forever to dry clothes, sometimes, just would not get dry after running them twice. I thought perhaps the element was bad. Joy asked about the flexible hops that vents the hot air, could it be kinked or full of lint? AND since I had lost 3 containers of laundry detergent down behind the washer, she decided, it was time to pull out the dryer and take a look. Well, there was a treasure tove of items that had fallen behind the washer since last I had cleaned there. We found 3 detergents, one fabric softener, 2 bottles of fabric refresher spray, one of liquid plumber, and 2 dozen clothespins, I am ashamed to continue to name more, but a couple of sponges, couple of dish cloths, couple of coat hangers, the list goes on.

Now, I am not the best housekeeper, but in my defense, most of those items have gone back there recently. My washer is off balance and the items fell either from where they were sitting on the washer, or on the shelves above. You know how an off balance washer can shake, in a mobile home, it shakes the house, and the items litterly vibrated off and fell behind the washer and dryer. So, we had a lot of cleaning to do to straighten that mess. While she was back there, decided to vacuum the folding doors, they are the slatted kinnd, but had over time collected dust in the slats, that you could only reach from INSIFE the closet. So there is job with the shop vac, both in a space that is 3x3feet (1 meter square) and vacuuming away. Then she decides to clean the shelves above, rearrange, so that things do not fall off as easily. OH, all this while she was washing her clothes too.

The dryer does dry faster now, amazing what a clogged vent can do. The pantry looks much neater, and there is now only one item I must find a home for, unfortunately it is a large item. I just have more stuff than I have storage. I keep tossing MY excess stuff, but Al will not toss his excess, he might need it.

Anyhow, that is where I have been today. Enjoyed having her come down. We had a nice dinner, I made salmon patties. I text Joy this morning asking if she liked them. she answered, " I like yours", so we had those for dinner and she took home the leftovers for dinner tomorrow. Sent her home with a floor lamp, and some plastic food storage bowls, some dish cloths, and some clothes pins, since I had found so many all mine no longer fit the storage container.

Heidi, seems your twin heifers have been consistent in their deformities. It was interesting to read all the different ways the female could be affected. Glad you can at least raise her and sell as beef.

Getting sleepy here, and I have f

Heidi: Monty Python is hilarious! I remember listening to the Dr. DeMento Show on Sunday nights (after 10 pm) and they did a bunch of Monty Python, Weird Al Yankovic and Spike Jones!! Still funny after all these years.

Hi all! I hope everyone is well.

I'm sure there was a weekend but it flew past too quickly for me to be certain. I'm back at work again for 5 full days this week.
Only 1 more week after that and then Kevin and I are off to the beach for a week. Yippee!!!!!

I spoke to my sister last week and I'm organising to go visit her after Easter. I just need to get the ok from the boss and I'll book plane tickets. There are only 3 working days between Easter and Labour day holiday on the following Monday. If I have to work I'll be the only one here. The boss and salesman are off to Hong Kong and China for trade shows and the storeman is having a holiday.

It would have been a nice day for lunch Broni. Certainly better weather than the weekend.

Suzy, I'm reading about lots of flooding south of Sydney. I hope you are ok.

Stupid internet at work keeps dropping out. It was supposed to be fixed on Thursday.

I'm going to a nutrimetics party tonight on the other side of town. I'm going with friends and luckily they are driving. I'm going to be worn out in the morning.

Gekko all,
Tami, I didn't mean to desert you, I just couldn't think of anything interesting to say.

MizT, glad your dryer is working again and you have all your goodies back. Joy must have done most of the work as your day seems to be completely full just feeding and medicating Al.. ((((hugs))))

Broni, sounds like a wonderful day!

Vicki, hope your boss okays the holiday and doesn't make you stay there to answer the phones.

The big brother of one of Alie's friends has been in a car accident - he smashed half of his face, broke his arm and has a blood clot in his brain. I hope he is okay...

Good morning everyone. I have had a busy weekend but for the life of me cannot think what we have done. Well I can remember bits but they didn't take too much time. Have been gardening, well tidying up in the garden after winter. Set some veg seeds going and planted up some pansies which got forgotten about last year. Hopefully the gardener will be starting to come again soon.

Tricia, Joy sounds like she is a wonderful person. I am glad she cleaned the dryer vent. It does make a big difference.

Glad all seems to be good out there. I have to go back to torturing kiddies today. I am not in that good of a mood this morning. I wish I had a few more days off.

Day 3 with this low-grade fever. I'm just feeling crummy, and want to sleep. The foot is still hurting and swollen, too (no surprise there as I never had it put in a cast or splint). I think I will spend the day feeling sorry for myself.

Morning all,
It has stopped raining at the moment (thought the forecast for today is for severe weather) and everything outside is hidden by fog.

I mentioned the cockies to Mum and she reminded me where I'd heard the rain story. Her late partner used to say it, he was born in 1920 - yes he was a much older man - and so lived a different life to the one I know.

Hoping we do not get rain today. Have an important bowls game and if postponed it would be played the day I am booked in for a medical procedure.
Somehow I do not think I turned the eagles off properly last night as it showed up as being on for 5 hours! I was sure I had gone out of the site! Maybe I had better start turning the computer off altogether!

Victoria, where do you have to go to visit your sister?
Suzy, I hope the car accident victim will be OK.
Hope you are soon feeling better Heidi.
Theresa, I am sure something will happen soon to brighten your days.
Pleased Joy was able to help clean your laundry. As Brenda pointed out what you had was a real fire hazard.

June, I hope you get to play bowls too - the forecast I heard this morning suggested your rain was heading down here, as if we haven't had enough!

Alie's friend, the younger brother of the accident victim, is apparently pretty upset. Heidi, you are right, I need to tell Alie things like it was 3 days before I was really aware of the people around me so she can pass it on.

Good mAen everyone!
I missed the full moon the other night too!! Was VERY overcast here. I think Heidi said she missed it.
Windy day here, storms are threatening. Had to pick up my trash can (and my next door neighbors, which wound up in my driveway) Trash day tomorrow, so I'll put it back out then.

The rain has turned to snow again. Enough already. My arthritis is flaring up.

SonIL is on his late shift the next 2 weeks so I will be getting grandies ready for bed tonight. Flinging our supper now and then I will go next door and make theirs.

Their is a new tabby kitty outside - very friendly and very talkative.

Hello everyone. Hope you're all well. :)
Raining again in Melbourne, but still warmish ... the weeds will be loving this! We went out on Sunday, visited some plant shops in Mt Evelyn - a very pretty drive into the hills, and it was a warm, sunny day. We got a few nice flowery things, and also looked for something to plant as a "memory" of my Dad (as suggested by some of my lovely friends), and finally settled on a callistemon "Mary MacKillop". This works on a few levels - A. it's a native, easy-to grow, pretty red bottlebrush flowers, B. Mary is Oz's first official Saint - think Dad would like that. C. We are (very vaguely) related to Mary, possibly by marriage, but as they say close enough for government work! For those who don't know: Mary founded an Australian order of teaching nuns, the Sisters of St Joseph, locally known as "the brown Joeys", who helped many disadvantaged children around Australia. It seemed "right" for Dad, especially as he was also a teacher for many years. :)

Judy, what a wonderful floral remembrance of your father.

Should be only one more trip next door - bedtime. I feel ready for bed myself. Still have to do the dishes and scoop the litter box here before bed.

The tabby is not a kitten, and no, I am not taking her in. We have too many as it is and the last 2 we got are not fitting in as well as I had hoped.

Oops, have to go back next door - forgot to give oldest grandie her medication. So many things to remember.
