It looks like the black cockies knew what they were on about - it's still raining. That is a bummer as Alie is off to a sleepover birthday party - and they are going sailing!! The poor birthday girl, last weekend was beautiful!

Heidi, I think a part of the blame for insurance delays should be taken by bad doctors and criminals. In Possum's case there have been cases of fraud already associated with the cyclone. But nobody should expect to have their payments cut because they want to see their failing mother! And in cases like MizT, possibly a time limit, if she requests another within a year - auto approval.

Please don't let there have been another post so this is a TOPP!

Back seems better today, and boy all I have wanted to do is sleep. It is not well, mind you, but not bringing tears to my eyes to be up and doing like yesterday. I can get a bit more done fore it screams at me today, that is good as I had a few things needed doing.

I got another fan from the shop/storage, it is HOT today and I am not yet ready to turn on AC. March is just too early. It is hot for a few hours mid day, then starts to cool when sun goes down. As long as it gets cool nights, I can tough out the days and save a few pennies on the power bill.

why is it, when you use power, it is unbelievable expensive, but when you do not use it, only saves a few dollars???

Al is doing well, asleep as we speak, I must go and wake him for some meds now and some more fluids. He still has a lot to go today.

MizT, I'm not surprised all you want to do is sleep. I'm glad your back is a little better.

Tricia, I am also glad that your back is feeling better.
Suzy, enjoy your anniversary dinner. You deserve a nice night out.
Heidi, glad you solved the cow problem. It does not surprise me that IH did not notice the hole. I am also wondering, is this cow a calf or full grown?

Tami, I think Heidi said this calf # ____ had lost it's tag, so I think it is a calf.

neighbor dropped by, bringing me some Tylenol, she picked it up at the grocery where she works and saved me a trip to town. It is nice to have neighbors who can do favors like that. Anyhow, we sat on back porch a while, on shady side of house and it was nice out. Now, the full dishwasher is calling me, a bit of krow to get it emptied, but not as much as doing them by hand!!

Hugs with extras!

MizT, I think it was nice to have your Tylenol delivered, but also nice to have company..

Did I tell you that Alie's friend may end up in court over defending himself when he was being beaten up? I'm hoping common sense rules...

Oh Suzy, that is so mixed up. Someone attacks you, but you wind up in court? This world is getting crazier and crazier. It does seem criminals have more rights than law abiding citizens.

Broni, glad you got to sleep in, we all need that on occasion. Hope that your Saturday is good, with some time just for you.

Getting cooler in my house now, I can tell without a thermometer. Al has pulled up his lap blanket.

For some time, ever since Al. has been unable to swallow, there has been an almost empty carton of ice cream in the freezer. I keep moving it about, as I find room to store other items. Tonight found a solution. I had the almost one serving of ice cream with some strawberries for my sweet after dinner. Twas good.

I took the family and went to the mall this evening. I had a gift card that one of my students gave me for Christmas. I bought a new pair of jeans and a present for hubby. He got a new cordless hand vacuum. He is happy. Is it swearing if someone else does the krow???

Hi all, I'm home. All went well, but I am sure glad to be back. Said to hubby that I don't think I can do this hopping over there for a couple of days thing anymore, just not enough time to do anything.
Will catch up with you all properly later, I have heaps to do and pages to read.
Hope you are all well...a synopsis of the last couple of days right about now would be great!

Gail, unfortunately Julie is busy this week, so no summary of the posts has been posted. Glad you are back home, sorry your time there seemed too rushed.

Hi Judy, motivating right along here, hope you are also.

Tami, how nice of you to share your gift card with hubby. AND how nice of a student to gift you so richly, must really appreciate what you have done. Glad you got something you both liked.

Be proud of Tricia. Hubby went to sleep watching a program on HULU, on the TV screen but through the computer. I figured out how to turn it off, I always get lost doing that. OK, I did not get it back to regular TV stations, but I think turning it on again would do that. Too much high tec stuff for me, I cannot keep up with it all.

along that train of thought, I just now fdiscovered my home portable phones have a phone book, and can store up to 50 numbers. I have 2 in there hehehe. But I did find it and how to put them in, all by myself and without the instructions. Hubby usually looses the instructions fore I get a chance to see them. After being shown how to operate my cell phone, (again no instruction book, his brother lost that, must be a family trait)finding and setting up the home phones was a snap.

Good night all, time to call it a night here. Hugs to each of you and extras for those who need them.

Our state premier inherited the job, so far she has shut parliament 3 months early so nobody could do anything about selling off assets, asked for documents to be deleted and fired people who disagreed with her. For once I'm glad there is an election coming!!

Hi all, briefly. Robert and I got another load to the scrapyard, I got a few things done here, then fell asleep from mid-afternoon to midnight. I'm now nodding off again. So I'm heading back to bed.
We did have another heifer calf born today. That evens up the numbers of living calves at 11 of each gender. And we lost 4 calves. I hate that part of Spring calving season. The one benefit of Fall calving is a higher survival rate.

Thanks Tami, I could go for another cup of coffee, only had one so far this morning.

Suzy, how many more days of rain according to the birdies?

Heidi, how long will it take you to get all the cows over to a fall calving schedule? Congrats on getting the other load of metal out of there. that has to be hard dirty work.

Topsiders, do not forget to look for the SUPER MOON tonight. It will be 14% bigger and 20% brighter at moon rise, which is about sunset time, so go out and look to the east for it. Because the moon's orbit is elliptical, it is closer to earth on part of it's orbit, when that coincides with a full moon, gives us a super moon.

busy today, getting morning meds ready for Mr Al, and his morning feeding, then putting a special med on his radiation burns. Poor dear, skin of back and sides of neck is just parched, looks like alligator skin. Really need to keep on the 3 a day schedule this weekend.

Lovely spring day, a cool start but expected high of 80 again. That is 26.6 in Aussie speak

Scooter kitty is no longer as afraid to go out, she stayed out all night last night. We had doors and windows open till bedtime and did not notice she had gone out. I called her more than once, she was not within hearing distance. Worried me a bit her being outside, but she was on the back porch waiting on me when I went to kitchen this morning.

Joy is coming down tomorrow, I need to make something nice for dinner.l Have not decided what, need to look in pantry and freezer to see what is available.

I am looking for a lady to clean house for me, my sweet sister said she would pay for a cleaner to get me caught up. Perhaps I can keep it up for a while if things are all clean at once. as it is, I do not get around before the first cleaned is dirty again, and some chores I just cannot get down or up to, I am better with things about waist to shoulder level, but dirt is everywhere.

Interesting day at Surreal Farm. I went out to tag a newborn bull calf, only to discover a day old untagged bull calf. I hung around and saw a cow claim him. She gave birth yesterday to a nice heifer calf that got tagged. Apparently, she had twins. That makes her heifer calf a freemartin.

I went to our Extension Expo this morning, and brought Angel (a collie) along to socialize her. It occurred to me that the only place she's ever been besides here is the Vet clinic. She got petted and admired a LOT, and will have her picture in the newspaper. I also won a new broom in a drawing. I wonder what I'll do with it?

Morning all,
MizT, I don't think your sister could have picked a nicer way to help you right now..

Heidi, it must have felt like your birthday when you got the broom.

MizT, it's supposed to be a day of rain for every bird. Usually I see them in 2s or 3s, this time I saw 13 or 14.. Really hoping this is an old wives tale.

I am so tired, and guess what hubby just did ... he invited the grandies over. NO NO NO. He mentioned it earlier today and I said no, he could go over there. GLAD HE WAS LISTENING!!! It might be mean of me but I am just about "grandied" out right now. Okay, vent over, I'll fume in silence for a while. Have to hide the computer.

Theresa, can he take them for a walk or somewhere out of your house?
Well I wanted some rain to water the garden and now it is well watered. Not sure how much rain as the rain gauge has well and truly overflowed.
I have never heard that about the black cockies Suzy. There were 20 or more at Belinda's the day I took that photo.
We always say when the currawongs start calling it is a sign of rain.

Mizt, hope you can soon find a nice cleaning lady. A wonderful gift from your sister. Thoughts for Al and all he is going through. Fortunately my friend was not nauseous and could eat (and put on weight) although the treatments did affect her in other ways. A B#gger of a treatment to fix a Bl##dy awful disease. Loving thoughts for you as the carers job is a very difficult one.

Lazy day so far today. I did look at the eagles earlier just in time for a change over! I have been lucky to see lots of those. Now waiting for the chicks to hatch.
