Have a talk with his parent and see what they are thinking about the situation. Not to seem tacky but we all know it can take less than 20 minutes to make a baby.
I also agree with Gail.

We are having a spell of beautiful spring weather.
Sunny 14c. Unfortunately I am stuck inside at the moment supposed to be doing books. Have to have them done by the end of the month.

Yep, Broni, it was called house rules at my house growing up, also. Dad said, it is my house, I make the rules!! End of discussion for us.

Brenda, I was thinking same as you. There are a plethora of "less than 20 minute" babies in the world.

Hope this does not get me banned, but it is the lady's name. I understand not a polite word in Oz.
Just received a new book in the mail from a friend. F@nny Flagg, I STILL DREAM ABOUT YOU, and it is set in Birmingham Alabama. Be interesting to see if she remembers Birmingham past as I do. I do remember seeing her on local TV when she was very young.

I read, am caught up, but no time to comment on posts I read. it is time to get 9 oclock meds ready and his morning meal. He said his throat is no longer sore, wonder if he will take a few bites today, fore they make it sore again???

Hugs to all with extras.

Hi MizT, when I was that age sleepovers were never thought of, even amongst the same gender.
Hope Al doesn't have to suffer to many more bouts of radiation treatments before he is pronounced fit. It's a harsh treatment but if it does the job then all well and good. Hope your back isn't too bad today.

I'm amazed that she claims that the parents will be checking on them every 20 minutes..... ALL night? They're not going to sleep? How absurd! If you're that foolish, girl, you're not responsible enough to raise a baby of your own. Which will happen. If he's just a friend, you can see him during daylight hours. You sure can't visit with him in separate rooms at night. Stop lying to us and yourself.

Heidi, rest that foot, ice it down, lift it up, and take your mind off it with a good movie. My prescription for today.

YEAH, Al can swallow again. He ate a few bites of thin mashed potatoes today. Liquids still a bother going down, but semi solids will go, YEAH. Told him he best enjoy eating some real food the next 4 days, I think they might resume radiation next week. BUT we do not know, I have only phoned up there about 5 times, talked to multiple persons each time, and they still have not got back with us about when he will resume. I imagine they will decide after the chemo doc sees him Monday the 28th. I will go with him and keep asking till someone can tell me when.

I have a bread pudding in the oven for him, I think it was one of the last foods he was able to eat. Peach bread pudding, it is yummy and my shoue smells so good at the moment. Hope he can eat some this weekend.

Timer going ding ding, time to check the pudding. Hugs,

Heidi if you can take MizT's advice and get off that foot far a little while it might help. I know it will be difficult as you have a working farm to look after. (HUGS) for you too

I have been resting it today. IH is at the plant, and I told Robert that it was hurting too much to do any work today. The only thing I have to do is feed some hay to the cows now. And that is done sitting in the tractor.

Hi all. Just popping in for a minute. Dylan has a game tonight and I am the score keeper.
Suzy, I agree that 14 is too young for a sleepover. Like someone else said, house rules. I don't think I would have even had the guts to ask my parents for a sleepover at a boys house at 14. My dad would have killed me.

Lost a post, drat, was trying to convert tonight's low, 38 degrees, to C (3.333) and lost the post. Not saying much, so no biggie. I must remember to set the heat to come on once house gets cold tonight, At the moment it is pleasantly warm.

Gail, have fun, sounds like a nice weekend planned.

Heidi, happy to hear you could rest the foot some today. Hope that relieves the pain.

I am out of here, dinner time, I must blend Al something hehehe. Actually, his third time for formula, needs this to round out his nutritional needs for today. He can have the peach bread pudding, either to eat or processed for his tube feeding, for bedtime snack.

HI BRENDA, we posted same time. I loved the photos of your room, on the other site. really big bedroom, reminds me of my daughters in CT. They use the other end of their bedroom for music, her hubby plays guitar as a hobby, but will keep his day job hehehe. He really is good on guitar, but he is better at his work.

Gekko all,
I'm supposed to be working but I'm throwing up instead.. bugger!

For some reason I can only get a slow connection here too. Not my day.

MizT, great news that Al is eating, that has to feel good psychologically as well as physically.

Gail, have fun!

Alie wants to stay because she says Ben is having a hard time worrying about his bro. Can you believe he is home already??? I had to beg the doctors to let me out after 3 weeks so I could go to my Uni graduation ceremony and it sounds like we had similar injuries...

Brenda, at that age sleepovers were for birthday parties for me!

Interesting piece of trivia re Dana: When we got her glasses we got her the two-for deal at that major chain and they had another special going that let you tint one of the pairs for free. She wears the tinted pair all of the time because they help her dyslexia...

Suzy, sorry you are not feeling well. To bad about the job today, bummer. What color are
Dana's tinted glasses? I had read about tinted glasses making a difference, but online those selling them said ONLY their special (read pricy) color would work, of course. I am interested in telling my daughter, for my grandson. Might help him too.

Hi all. Was going to get here last night, but we
lost our power. The day was really nice, 71 F (22 C). Then the wind picked up, rain turned to hail & the temperature dropped to 41 F (5 C). All is the space of about 2 hours. Last night it snowed. I'm so over this weather.

MizT, glad to hear that Al is able to eat soft foods. I was going to mention Ensure, even tho it's a little thick, he'd probably have trouble drinking it.
Not to but in about dyslexia, but not one color of tint helps everyone. One of my students had it & she had to go to the eye doctor to find out which one helped her.

Suzy, sorry to hear that your feeling a bit puny. Since I haven't been able to catch up on all the pages, what kind of job did you get?

Heidi, how's your fever? Hubby got the flu on Valentine's Day. He had a low grade fever for about 2 weeks.

Suzy: Sorry to hear you are sick!! Yuck!! Feel better soon.
I agree about the sleepover. If it was a girl/girl sleepover, I don't think 14 is too young. I used to have them with my childhood friend Claudia. Not much sleeping, lots of laughs & late-night fridge raids.

Dropping in between rests...

MizT, just the brown sunglass tint. The untinted glasses help too, though not as much. If she had stayed home I was going to take her to one of those places that tests to see if tint would help her.

Becky, I'm casual teaching and so far am not being called very often - probably even less often after this.

My mum just rang, to let me know, my cousin in Holland (she is my age), her husband just passed away (a couple of hours ago), it was expected, he had cancer, and he lived much longer than they thought he would.

Morning friends. Baby, it's cold outside! low was 40, wind chill was about 36, OUCH, thought we were finished with wind chill for the year. Wishful thinking. Expected to be a beautiful, warm day today, sunny and less wind, a nice day forecast.

I did have to turn on heat during night, and even turn it UP when I got up, my house was cold. Well, I tried doing without.

Tami, thanks for the coffee, nothing like that first cup in the morning.

Suzy, hope you are feeling better.
Heidi, how is the foot today?
Julie, glad you could pop in to say HI after your busy day.
Rolanda, so sorry about your cousin's husband, even when expected, it is a blow. Hugs to you and the whole extended family.
Suzy, I hope that your being sick and unable to go when called does not affect your being called out again. WE all know you would have gone if possible, should each of us write you an excuse?

Well, all the time I have for my morning coffee, good I could have it with you. Time to get meds and "breakfast" together.

OH, was it Brenda who was asking about Ensure for Al to drink? Nope, that does not swallow well, but before he was able to swallow the Carnation Instant Breakfast, chocolate flavor, if I made it in warm milk, cocoa style. Hope today he will try a bit more food by mouth, he did not want his bread pudding to swallow last night, so I processed it, and added milk to make a thick liquid, it went into tube. Hope he had a burp so he could taste it hehehe.

Lots of hugs, enough for everyone with extras if you need them.

Morning .....

Rolanda, sorry to hear about your cousin's husband.

MizT, it was -13C with the wind chill when I got up this morning. Brrrr.

Off to do some ffuts before I go and make lunch for D. She was told yesterday that she should be putting absolutely no weight on her right leg. She is still in a lot of pain. Looks like I won't be able to look for work for a while yet. Sigh.

Theresa, so sorry daughter is not progressing as you had hoped. Getting around with no weight on that leg will be difficult. How long on the no weight? when does she go back for another check up? Hugs to her and to you, and the rest of the family.

MizT, I don't know for how long D cannot out weight on the foot. She goes for physio twice a week and does exercises at home. The doctor put her back on anti-inflammatory meds again. Some days I am just really tired - I can only imagine how you must be feeling. (HUGS)
