Morning ... can't sleep again!!! I've been awake since just after 2:00 AM.

Thanks for all the well wishes. Some days are worse than others (yesterday for example), but we just keep plugging away one day at a time.

Morning all.
Coffee is ready, pour yourself a cup.
Theresa, sorry you could not sleep. I agree. You do need your sleep. I also hope something good happens for you soon.
Devil dog woke me up about 30 minutes before I needed to get up. Took him out, took a shower and I am now playing on the pooter for a bit. Big state test is in 3 weeks and I am teaching Saturday school. 6th grade usually has about 200 (half our students) show up. 7th and 8th have less than us. I give the kids credit. They give up 4 hours on Saturday to get extra help. I would not have gone, I hated school. The 6th grade administrator gives out a goody bag and the teachers give extra credit. I wonder if that is why we have more kids than any other grade

Going to bed, hubby is playing around on the computer - actually doing work, but in 3D so for him it qualifies as play.. so I'm going to try to catch up on some sleep. Wish me luck!

June, yes, Only 11 more radiation treatments, and we do hope they are over soon, and then tests to see how they did go well. He has an appointment at 11 on Monday to see the chemo doc, before resuming chemo. supposedly they discussed his treatment in an interdisciplinary meeting on Wednesday, but no one thought to phone us with their thoughts on his treatment. I will ask questions on Monday. I would have phoned after the meeting, but Al did not get name of person who called him while I was out.

Someone asked earlier about CCR man, and nope, have not seen him recently. Did I say this already? His medication to help him sleep also is an anti-anxiety med, and since he takes this regularly now, he is lots easier to live with. No more outbursts.

JUNE, the photo place did not give "rain-checks" that extend the special into this week, because their machines were broken? Most companies would have done that here, if you asked, but they do not have to volunteer that info.

Morning all,
MizT, great news about the CCR man! It would be great if the hospital was more helpful - and better if they would just get on with it so it would be over!

Heidi, stop swearing!!!

Anecdote: I was talking to the family of the injured boy yesterday and was astounded to hear that the doctor who initially saw him thought he was a drug user and his injuries were basically bruises and everyone was over-reacting. He was apparently combative, which should have told the doc he had a brain injury - but didn't. The whole side of his face was swollen and a piece of bone above his eye was jutting out so far they later thought he might lose the sight in that eye. But it took more than a day and a couple of hospital transfers before anyone worked any of that out!

Afternoon all. Had a good morning. Had to teach reading today as we were short a reading teacher. I had 2 different groups of advanced kids and it went really well. Took hubby to mall to get him a few basics: sneakers, socks and new shorts. Had coupons so it wasn't too bad. Then did the food shopping for week. Tomorrow I get to rest and grade papers. It is near the end of the marking period and 3 weeks to big state test.

I had the same problem, Heidi. When you copy, it is putting a space in the numbers near the end. You have to look close to see it. Take the space out between the 0 and the 4.

Suzy, I'm good right now. Hubby's sneakers had a hole in them. He needed a pair. I really would like to lose a few pounds before I buy new clothes. I am going to save over the summer and go shopping before the next school year.

Good Evening! Gecko, fellow SA10ers!

June, what great news that your friend is doing well now! Sending positive thoughts for that to continue - through May and well beyond!

Suzy, I wonder if there's a youtube about the way to tape your feet that Alie has learned? It would be good to know!

Heidi, most guys I know whould not notice there were no greens, if there were enough meat and rice. Hope the chicken and rice sit well on your tummy.

Tami, glad you were able to get hubby set with the new shoes and shorts. Now, your being in FL, can we assume those are outer wear?? and not boxer kind?

I meant to post about the space in the link, guess I forgot. Apologies.

Gail, hope you got some rest for heading out to the races again. Do you have a big sun hat to keep your face in the shade??

Horrible humidity tonight, and storms racing across the state, now about 50 miles north of us. We got a bit of rain, and a tornado went over just 10 miles or so from here this afternoon. I do not know if it was on the ground or not, but photos definitely showed a tornado, a big one.

All this weather has me aching in places I did not know I had places. I had a lidoderm patch left here by a friend. It has been here so long I was not sure it was good. It was, I put on ribs that seemed the worse, and at least breathing is easier now. I will ask my doc about those, they are a topical lidocane, the drug is in the adhesive. Wear the patch for 12 hours, the relief should last another 12 hours. I can tell it has helped where it is located, no pain, but just below, still painful to touch. I wonder if it comes in full body suit size??

I am off to bed, catch you on the flip side.

Hugs with extras.

Suzy, my dad taped my feet when I was a teen. I had very weak ankles, and he heard that ice skating would be good, help strengthen them. I could not stand up on ice skates, ankles flipped right over. He started taping my feet fore we went skating. Ankles were supported, I could skate a little bit. taking off the tape was not fun though. We gave up on ice skating for roller skating, I enjoyed it much more.

MizT, must be very frustrating that the interdisciplinary meeting was held without input or feedback from you or Al and without sharing the results with both of you! I'm glad you will be there Monday to pursue information! I hope the 11 radiation treatments all go relatively well - and with optimal results so the two of you can get your lives back on track! What great news that the sleep med is also anti-anxiety and helps keep the CCR man away!

Suzy, the information you shared about the young man with the facial injuries leaves me wondering! I'm assuming he was brought in by ambulance. The article said he was pinned in the car for a bit. That suggests that paramedics should have been in touch with the hospital ER before and during the transport. I can't imagine that the doctor based an opinion on facial bruises without pursuing what possible injuries could have been involved! And multiple hospital transfers? What an ordeal!

Gail, I hope you have thoroughly enjoyed (and will quickly recover from) the fun weekend you have had!

Tami, I can't imagine why more 6th graders come to Saturday school; it's a mystery! So glad you were able to shop for hubby this afternoon! Have a good day tomorrow! Hope you get the grading done early so you can relax and enjoy the day!

Heidi, I hope you'll soon be feeling better and the chicken and rice hit the spot! Amazing that your hubby would notice the absence of "greens" from the meal!

MizT, I hope the humidity and rough weather have passed! Ah, I remember the Lidoderm patches well! After I had the initial awful reaction to pain meds, all I could take was Tramadol every 4 to 6 hours and half a lidocaine patch on each side of the incision on each knee. Unfortunately, my insurance wouldn't pay for them after I left rehab. I'm so glad it gave you some relief!

Theresa, thinking calming, restful thoughts for you to have a good night's sleep and a better day tomorrow!

Well, seems like the topsiders may have all gone to bed. Midnight seems like a good time to join them all. Sleep tight!

Sending lots of {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, positive thoughts, prayers, and for everyone!

If anyone has a spare minute, please say a prayer for twin grandbabies of a friend. They were due the end of June, but arrived March 20 while their parents were visiting relatives (more than 2 hours away from home) for a niece's 3rd birthday. The little girl weighed in at about 1 pound, 12 ounces, and her brother was about 2 pounds, 1 ounce. Please include a prayer for the young parents and the doctors and nurses, as well! Thanks!

Morning all. Sleepless again. Oh well, gives me a chance to play on the pooter. Somebody's car alarm went off about half an hour ago and I haven't been able to get back to sleep.

Julie, sending special thoughts for the little ones.

Heidi, at our house it's the opposite, hubby is the meat and potatoes one.

Afternoon all, back from my third trip into town today - grrr. Took Alie over to meet some friends. Later I got a text from Dana telling me about a fantastic sale. I headed over and got Alie 2 pairs of shoes for $2.50 each, a lacy skirt for $5, 2 pairs of shorts for $2.50 each, a pair of high heels for me for $7.50, a T-shirt for Don, a couple of singlet tops to wear underneath in winter for $1.50 each and a couple of work shorts for me for $4 each - bargains!!!! Can't believe those prices!!

Julie, thoughts and wishes winging their way from here. That is so very very early. It's amazing what doctors can do these days so I am hoping for the best.

Heidi, I'm a veggie person too. Tiny bit of meat and a tonne of veggies is my dream meal.

The mother of the injured boy has talked to me a lot because she knows I have had similar experiences. She is so worried, and so lovely!

Julie, it bothered me that a doctor assumed drug use and not the medical explanation for his combative behaviour. The mother is going to send him copies of everything - a sort of 'next time think' type of message.

MizT, so much tape to take off too! I hope you don't end up on tornado watch tonight. I don't think either you or Al should be spending the night anywhere but in a comfy bed.

Tami, I know that 'lose weight' first thing. I haven't bought myself anything decent for ages for the same reason.
