Headed to the hospital to check on AL. I have decided not to tell him about Screech at the moment, when he comes home will be soon enough. He has enough to do getting himself well once again. ,

Suzy, I don't know if congrats are in order. His team lost 12-0 and they ended the game under the mercy rule. I hope having a week off will help them regroup.

New South Wales Premier Kristina Keneally has directed public servants to destroy thousands of what are being described as potentially sensitive government documents.

This is scary stuff! What has been going on that she doesn't want us to know about? Our local council employees are not allowed to delete or destroy anything that isn't personal...

Right after posting #24,000 on SA9A, a nasty headache hit suddenly... with dizziness and nausea. I took some extra strength excedrin and went to bed with a cold cloth on my head. It helped somewhat, but the calf-from-h*ll didn't get fed this morning. Hopefully he'll be hungry enough to cooperate at his feeding tonight.

Suzy, I am in shock too, and poor Scooteris missing her. She goes around the house hunting, and sniffing all the places she has been. I am giving her more attention now.

Al is looking better, is more himself with that snile, except when his nausea medicine makes him sleepy. Doc said he is improving, potassiun is back up, no more into feeding tube to upset his tummy, That is good.

I need to get some dinner, cafeteria is not open nights all weekend I discovered, bummer, means I must fling food. I was going to use a coupon for $5 off my meal and get something to eat that I did not have to cook

Hugs to all, with extras.

Good morning all. MizT - sorry about Screech - not what you and Al need at the moment!
I had been wondering how long I'd been a Sudokuaholic. After a bit of checking, I found my first post on page 1 of SA4 on 18/3/08, so nearly 3 years. But many of you Gail, Suzy, June, Rolanda, Bean, MizT (of course) were there before me.

As were those that we have lost - Lynda and Ruby.
And those that we don't see around any more - Becky and Cyndi (I hope they are OK)
And those that we know are OK but they just don't visit much like Rena and Stella.

Cyn, you got me curious. I started my page on 3 May 2007. Post number 3 is from June and a few posts later is Julie. I can't believe it has been almost 4 years. I don't remember when I first came to SA. All I remember is Vici invited me in and told me how the find the page. I see Stella on the other site a lot.

Yes, Tami, once Stella got started on Zoo on FB, we didn't see much more of her here on SA. But we know she's OK from FB.
Heidi - does everyone in the US have DLS or is it a state by state decision like it is here?

I believe all states have DST except for most of Indiana. In Indiana, only the major cities have it. the rural areas don't. That means if you're driving through Indiana, you never know what time it is.

Thanks Heidi, as you probably know Qld doesn't have DLS, NSW does. We are 1 hour's drive from NSW and in the days before we had slot machines/casinos in Qld, there were many big clubs on the NSW border which, as well as the slots had good live shows/bands every night. We often went down there for a show on New Years Eve - celebrated down there, crossed the border into Qld and celebrated an hour later. Good fun!
Those days are over and the clubs have suffered tremendously and many have closed down.

Baby News:
Mum has been discharged (yesterday lunch time)
Baby still in Hospital for at least a week or two. He is in the Neo Natal section, but really is too well to be in there, he may be moved to normal nursery. He needs to gain some weight before he is discharged.
Still no name!
I, along with MIL, hope to catch up with the young couple late in the afternoon on Tuesday, and view the new addition. MIL, we are to a Funeral in the earlier in the afternoon, the Cemetery is not far from the Maternity Hospital.

Rolanda - my niece had a 3lb 2oz baby boy (4 weeks prem) a few weeks before Karin's wedding in 1997. He was discharged just in time to come along with his parents to the wedding. I don't think I had ever seen such a tiny baby. That boy, is now a strapping lad, in high school, nearly 14 and a brilliant scholar.

But we miss her wisdom here.

Time to go attack that calf again. We're going to give him a few more days, and if he continues to refuse to take a bottle or drink from a bucket, we're going to turn him into dog food. All experts agree that there is something wrong with this calf and he may never nurse. And at this age, his stomach can only digest milk, so he can't be put on solid food yet.

Some friends of mine had a preemie 8 years ago. He was a month early. I remember watching a video of the father taking his wedding ring and sliding it up the babies arm to his shoulder, and it was still loose. He's a healthy, robust boy now with a machinery obsession. The only problem he has from his early start is that he needs glasses, and neither parent does.

Just had a lovely chat with Anne from Vermont in the chatroom, I suggested she pop in sometime...but she wasn't sure if she would fit in because she does not raise cows!
Think she has now figured out we are all a bit crazy here!

Is this avatar suitable for St Pats day? Ican't be bothered finding a new one and it looks Irish to me - I reckon there's a leprechaun hiding behind it.
