Morning all,
Broni, I'm so sorry about Poss's mum. Hugs and wishes to you both

Brenda, have fun with your new laptop! Mine is driving me crazy right now - I need to find out how to shut off the short cuts as I keep opening new tabs and most recent pages etc while I'm typing.

Great news about your copay MizT - every little bit helps!

Rolanda, I hope your son has a brilliant future ahead of him - and that he moves out of home...

WooHoo, I finished my scarf last night. That will show those members of my family who wondered how many years it would take.
Halfway through I read all the instructions and now know how to knit the next one properly. The wool is waiting so now all I need is the time to start.
I have to go home this afternoon and start making a large potato salad and one or two dessert slices, plus visit the hairdresser to get my eyebrows waxed (I can't see to do them myself) and organise dinner.
Tomorrow after work, I'll race home, get my salad and slices, hubby and the lamb roasts that he is cooking during the day and head to the church's Maundy Thursday dinner.
Friday morning I'm operating the computer for the Good Friday service and then going to get my mother and take her back to our house.
Grocery shopping this week will have to wait until Saturday and then follow it up with a BBQ with mum and possible my brother and MIL.
Computer again at church on Easter day and take mum home in the afternoon.
Monday is pack and get an 8pm flight to Newcastle. Then................ relax.
Oh, Hubby and I also celebrate our 28th anniversary on Sunday.

I am soooo regretting not taking more advantage of the discounted Darrell Lea eggs while I was at the easter show. I got three large eggs for $5 - should have bought at least 6!

Suzy, my hubby expects a chocolate bunny every year and I buy him one. I love the Cadbury Cream eggs. They are a chocolate shell and have a gooey white inside with just a little bit of yellow, like a yolk. I also LOOOOOVVVVEEEEE peeps.

We get those Tami - yummo! My favourite is the Darrell Lea nougat eggs. Don't think I'll get one this year though. I usually buy it for myself and decided not to this year. Unless hubby has a brain wave I think I'm out of luck...

I have a new work computer and while most things are going really well, I've had to get a new version of our payroll system to suit Windows 7.
Well, I hate my computer and I really hate the payroll program. We have been working on it all day and still can't get the data to import.
Good thing the old system still works because I've just done the pays on it.
I HATE COMPUTERS!!!!!

Good Evening, Everyone!

Suzy, I will now thing of Alie's bf as "Move, Twithead."

Rolanda, I'm so glad the coming weekend sounds as if it will be a bit more relaxing, though still very enjoyable. I like your take on S#2's upcoming graduation. The best thing will be his employment in some location, and if it's in Perth, out on his own. Wishing him (and you) the best!

Broni, thinking of you and Pete and sending love and support to both of you! I hope Bella is feeling better!

June, I hope your bag is packed and you're ready to go . . . (but I don't know where you're going). Hope all is well with you, your extended family, especially your friend!

MizT, thinking of you and Al and hoping all is progressing! Wonderful news that the new insurance is in place and you got a check in the mail! Thank goodness your post went through!

Heidi, congrats on the new heifer calf and great news that Dennis is showing improvement even before a vet visit. I hope you find that all is well with Sassy! (I never thought about taking a cow to the vet. (I guess I assumed the vet came to the cow. Silly me!)

Suzanne, I hope everything gets sorted out with the new real estate agent and the right buyer is soon found! So sorry you had to deal with the "ditz."

Brenda, hooray for the arrival of your new laptop! I hope it lives up to your expectations!

VIcki, I hope all is well at work. I was talking to my Sis about their dog and its itchy dry skin. They are trying a new product (not sure if it's newly on the market or just newly found by them) called Linotone, I believe. It's too soon to comment on how well it works.

Tami, an excellent TOPP for page 50! I'm sure none of us have any idea why you wanted those specific posts a bit later on the page.

Vicki, congrats on finishing the scarf! What a busy end of the week you have planned! I hope everything goes according to schedule and plan! Happy Anniversary to you and Mr. Vicki!

Hubby and I went to see the Sis who cuts our hair today. It was her day off, so we left about 9:30, met about 11:30 & took her, her hubby and youngest son to lunch, then our hair cuts. We look almost human again! Then back home. Unfortunately we had rain almost the entire way there and back! A long drive for hubby, but worth it!

Having trouble keeping my eyes open, so would be best to head to bed. Sending , positive thoughts, prayers, and {{{{{HUGS}}}}} for each of you and those you love! Good Night!

Morning all. Feeling really blah lately and the weather is not helping. Our forecast for today is:

Rain mixed with ice pellets. Risk of freezing rain early this morning. Risk of a thunderstorm and freezing rain early this morning. Wind east 30 km/h becoming light this morning. High plus 2.

I am so sick of the rain and cool temps ......

Coffee is ready, help yourself. It should be an interesting day at school today. I am taking my first class to an assembly, some kind of concert. Then I will get to deal with a student who told the assistant principal a lie about me. The AP knew she was lying and sent me an email last night about it. The mother thinks her daughter is an angel, and she is definitely NOT an angel.

WE WAS BRUNG UP PROPER!

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL MY FRIENDS WHO WERE BORN IN THE
1930's 1940's, 50's, 60's First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they carried us and lived in houses made of asbestos...
They took aspirin, ate blue cheese, raw egg products, loads of bacon and processed meat, tuna from a can, and didn't get tested for diabetes or cervical cancer.
Then after that trauma, our baby cots were covered with brightcoloured lead-based paints.
We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, or billy carts we had no helmets or shoes.
As children, we would ride in cars with no seat belts or air bags and sleep in the back of the station wagon when Mum and Dad went to friends for a BBQ We drank water from the garden hose and NOT from a bottle.
Take away food was limited to fish and chips, no home delivery, no pizza shops, McDonalds , KFC, Subway or Nandos...
What is Nandos???
Even though all the shops closed at 6.00pm and didn't open on a Sunday, somehow we didn't starve to death!
We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and NO ONE actually died from this.
We could collect old drink bottles and newspapers and cash them in at the corner store and buy Toffees, Gobstoppers, Bubble Gum and some bangers to blow up frogs with.
We ate cupcakes, white bread and real butter and drank soft drinks with sugar in it, but we weren't overweight because........
WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING!!
We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back by dark, no one was able to reach us all day. And we were O..K.
We would spend hours building our go-carts out of old prams and then ride down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. We built tree houses and dens and tunnels into slopes and played in river beds with matchbox or dinky cars.
We did not have Playstations, Nintendo Wii , X-boxes, no video games at all, no 999 channels on SKY ,no video/dvd films, no mobile phones, no personal computers, no Internet or Internet chat rooms.........WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them!
We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no
Lawsuits from these accidents.
Only girls had pierced ears!
We ate worms, snails and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever.
You could only buy Easter Eggs and Hot Cross Buns at Easter time...
We were given air guns and sling shots, we rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just yelled for them!
Mum didn't have to go to work to help dad make ends meet because we didn’t need to keep up with the Jones’s!
Not everyone made the rugby/football/cricket/netball team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!! Getting into the team was based on MERIT.
Our teachers used to hit us with canes and gym shoes and throw the blackboard rubber at us if they thought we weren’t

WE WAS BRUNG UP PROPER! cont...

Our teachers used to hit us with canes and gym shoes and throw the blackboard rubber at us if they thought we weren’t concentrating
We can string sentences together and spell and have proper conversations because of a good, solid three R’s education.
Our parents would tell us to ask a stranger to help us cross the road.
The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of, we were in more trouble when we got home. They actually sided with the law!
Our parents didn't invent stupid names for their kids like 'Kiora' and 'Blade' and 'Ridge' and 'Vanilla' and 'Sumatra'
We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned HOW TO
DEAL WITH IT ALL !
And YOU are one of them!
CONGRATULATIONS!
You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow up as kids, before the lawyers and the government regulated our lives for our own good.
And while you are at it, forward it to your kids so they will know how brave their parents were.
PS -This should be big type because your eyes are not too good at your age anymore.
Now you are smiling!

Morning friends, coffee if ready if you need a cup. That first cup of the day is always the best, isn't it?

Broni, thanks for the BRUNG UP PROPER post, I can relate to that.

Tami, hope the dealing with the student goes well. As Broni said, our parents would have been on the teachers side if ever there was a problem, not taking up for the kid.

Theresa, hope your weather begins to warm up and dry out some, and soon.

Rolanda, I have skype somewhere, but have not used so long I don't remember a thing about it.

Viki, congrats on finishing the scarf. That seems to have gone quickly. Can you post a photo? I love show and tell!

I once loved the Cadbury eggs. Al and i were talking about them last night, after viewing an ad on "TV. Anyone else noticed they are just not quite the same as they once were? Al says ever since Hershey bought them out. I know the ones I bought last year were a disappointment, and will not buy any this year. I looked for jelly beans yesterday, could not find any with black ones, my favorite! One year, I found a bag of just black ones! I bought two.

Off to fling some food, I need breakfast. Hugs to all, with extras.
