Bye all. See you all later, time permitting. Family is coming tonight. Luckily I did a lot of prep work and cooking yesterday so I don't have too much to do after school today.

Hi all, sorry I have been MIA...been a little busy don't ya know!
All's good in birthday world, but please don't mention cake again!

Just a quick note for those who don't venture over FB way to let you know that our Dizzy Lizzy is laid up in hospital at the moment. She had an argument with her back step and came off second best. She has a nasty infection in a leg wound, but with masses of antibiotics, it seems to be clearing up, though it will need some grafts apparently.
Have to go right now, but I will tell you more info as it comes to me. Take care everyone, and please send healing thoughts to Liz xoxo

My only comment on the manners of the younger generation: I blame whoever was supposed to teach them manners and respect when they were children. They can't be blamed for being totally ignorant about a subject that they were not taught. Most hippies were not the best at teaching respect and discipline.

I have been following a clutch of Barn Owls at the Bonnie and Clyde site on Ustream. Last night the youngest, Jesse, at 60 days old, passed away. Cause unknown so far, tho' a spider was seen in the nest box with him. He'd been acting strangely the past couple of nights.

Morning all,
Poor Lizzy - grafts too! It must be really bad! Hugs to her..

Heidi, you can't only blame the adults around them, sometimes we have no say. For example, if you knew how many million times I have corrected my girls for saying 'me and...' and it has made no difference at all!!

Suzy, Heidi was responding to my vent about 3 year old children occupying a seat in public transport when adults are standing.
I am having a day off bowls as I have Laura today and we have some shopping before we go to Melbourne tomorrow.

Good Morning all!

I also hate bad manners but unfortunately the elderly can be just as bad as the young. They are impatient and won't wait their turn and can be just as rude in their dismissive attitude.

I've decided to tell my mother that I'm going to visit my sister. It would just be too hard to keep it quiet so she'll just have to suck it up and realise that I can go on holiday without her.

Actually Suzy, I've had teenagers apologise to me when they have used the F word. Totally unasked but much appreciated.

Not all teenagers are how they are portrayed in the media.

Regiie still isn't better and he absolutely hates having to eat biscuits. He sits outside the fridge and whines. He keeps investigating the rubbish bin (we call it the smorgasbord) in the hope we have put something in that he can eat.

Dinner went well and as usual my mom called to tell me how good everything was. She still will not admit that I am a better cook.

Tami, I'm glad to hear dinner went well especially after all the effort you put in to make it a success.

My mother can barely boil water, so everyone is a better cook than her. If you like your food cooked until it turns to leather or boiled until it is mush then you would like her cooking. Her idea of cheese is that processed pre-sliced stuff individually wrapped.

Nola, congratulations on passing your exam. We all knew you'd do well.

Happy birthday to Hannah. Just a few more cakes for Gail to enjoy.

Victoria, my mom used to put every piece of meat under the broiler so that it came out like leather. Good thing I always liked my veggies. I would eat all my veggies, and then be too full for the meat

Vicki, my grandmother used to put the meat on to cook and then started peeling the vegetables. She made a fantastic baked dinner and sponge cake though. My mother now likes her meat very very rare - and no veges. Don likes to put 3 peas on her plate.

Tami, my mother is just an average cook, and cooks better than I do!

Monday, after packing up and loading the car, we headed down to the beach Cafe for Breakfast.
Then into Margaret River Town for a bit of retail therapy, before saying goodbye to MR and headed north.
Stopped in Bunbury at a cafe overlooking the ocean for lunch. We also had a look at the new Cathedral that has just been built and opened.. Beautiful. The old Cathedral was destroyed in a storm some years ago..
