Theresa, I like rule 12 although I could do that at school when the morning bell rings.
Suzy, you should be proud. That is a great honor for Alie.

Theresa, maybe today might have hidden surprises and be better than you think.
Hugs and loving thoughts to Julie's "little babies" sounds like they are fighters.
Also to Heidi's friend. Very hard, especially when you did not trust that hospital.
Congrats to Dana, Suzy you have every reason to be proud.
I am intrigued with the eagle. Yesterday morning she took a long time to wake up with Dad rousing on her. Last night she took a rabbit to the nest so it is about to become daylight so I must watch to see what she does with the rabbit.

Good Maen everyone! I see there is a need for LOTS of (((HUGS))) and prayers today. Read the last 3 pages I missed, not remembering much!
TTT: Thanx for the coffee...I have kaluah if you need some.
I didn't get ANY sleep last night. Allergies really bad yestereday. Couldn't breathe thru my nose. Got up at 5:30, I'll need a nap later. I took meds all day long, nothing helped!

I had a 2 hour nap when hubby got up, so I feel better. Splotch is on my lap (the little black cat with AIDS). He jumped up, which is unusual for him. What a nice feeling when a cat finally trusts you enough to do that.

Suzanne, hope you feel much better as the day progresses.

June, every day has hidden surprises - you just have to take the time to look. Thanks for the well wishes.

D and I will be watching a scary movie a little later. She supplies the movie, I supply the popcorn.

Theresa: Our cat Tigger is 17 years old and does that with me (and Darrell when he stretches on the loveseat). Glad you got a nap...I plan to take one today. What movie are you 2 going to watch???

Theresa, didn't know cats could get AIDS. Was Splotch born with it??

I don't know what movie we'll watch, but it will be a scary one.

We don't know where Splotch got AIDS from. He was a feral cat that I made friends with last summer. When the weather got colder we took him and another one in. It can spread to the other cats, so we have to be very careful if fighting breaks out. Scratches and especially bites can infect another cat. So far he is healthy, so we'll just keep him for as long as we can.

My D likes scary movies, but doesn't like to watch them alone. I like them too, so I join her. I think one of the scariest movies ever is The Shining.

Theresa: I agree about The Shining. I LOVE Stephen King, he scares me but doesn't gross me out like some movies can. I read the book first, then saw the movie. I'd rather watch something romantic or funny (but not college humor--i.e. American Pie). I also enjoy good classic movies (anything Audrey Hepburn, Marx Brothers or anything Ted Turner hasn't colorized yet)

Suzanne... feline AIDS is different than human AIDS. It's highly contagious through saliva, mainly to younger cats. The older ones develop resistance to it. About 15 years ago, we had an outbreak here. It was introduced thru' a rescue cat that had supposedly been tested, but the rescue organization forgot to look at the test results until after he had been adopted out. The incubation time for Feline AIDS is much shorter than human AIDS, and within 4 months I lost 5 cats that I loved dearly. The only cats I had left were over 10 years old.

Robert and I were outside doing some work, and I heard my horse Buddy screaming for me (I know Buddy's voice well) ... Robert and I rushed over to where Buddy was standing and it was immediately noticeable that he was in trouble. He was shaking, and standing on 3 legs. He wouldn't put the one leg even near the ground. I immediately got him into a small corral with hay and water, and gave him some pain killers. He has an appointment with the Vet at 2 pm tomorrow. Buddy is easily my favorite horse, but he's as accident prone as I am.

Sending special thoughts out to Buddy ♥

Vicki, you are right, I am still exhausted, today is catch up day. Yesterday was TM catch up day, as Suzy dobbed earlier! I think I had arranged to go out to meet up with Bean today, but I just don't have the energy. House looks like a bomb hit it (not strictly correct, just a lot to tidy up), Hannah was a great help the days we were away. Kitchen WAS tidy, carpets vacced (not swearing if someone else does it!) but the sloshy thing must run overtime today.

I got a present at school today. One of my students went to London during spring break as she had to attend a funeral. She was out all last week. She came back today and brought a gift for each of her teachers. I got of chocolates. They are "Thornton's Moments" It says a selection of favourite centres smothered in milk chocolate. My hubby and boys are looking forward to helping me sample them.

I KNOW I wrote a long post this morning, while waiting for Al to get ready. Did I get interrupted fore I finished, and then just closed computer without sending it? Something happened to it, this is most likely it. It was a really good post too.

Heidi, hope Buddy is OK, and vet can patch him up tomorrow just fine. Vet come to see you for horses? Still to early for snake bites, isn't it?

Tami, congrats on your present from school today. I am sure the boys, all three of them, will enjoy helping you enjoy it.

Gail, and this weekend of racing was done by choice? How is your sunburn?

Theresa, sorry you did not get to see your movie. I do not watch scary movies, just not my thing, but people who like them seem to really like them. Perhaps you can reschedule soon.

Know hubby is better this afternoon, he is playing music videos on the TV.

AL REPORT:

Today Al went back for his check up after the recent hospitalization. Docs had met to talk about him and other cases on Wednesday, and they have decided that he just cannot tolerate any more radiation/chemo, it is really playing havoc with his immune system. He did get 24 of the original 30 Radiation treatments planned, and had 2 of the big guns induction chemo, and 6 of the weekly chemo treatments. Chemo wise, that was the plan, 6 weeks of the weekly treatments. So he almost did all of it, as she said today, he had a lot!

She did a good physical exam, said she cannot see or feel anything now, Al says he cannot feel anything, no lumps, no bumps. The plan now is to wait 4 more weeks, then do a PET and or CAT scan and see how good a job they did. We will have appointment with doc one week after the CAT scan.

Everyone pray with us this cancer is all gone, and nothing to be found on these tests.

Al's voice is back again, still a bit raspy but he can talk. He is feeling better each day. The nurse today was surprised at how good he looked today. Vast improvement from when she saw him in the hospital. Expectation is his coughing and mucus (happens with irradiated tissue) will get less and less, and in a few more weeks should be gone. His strength should return, and he should begin to regain some weight. He has already gained 2 pounds, in 2 weeks of tube feedings. His ability to swallow should return soon also, and he can get more nutrition down soon as he can eat again.

That is about it for now, Hugs to all.

It's not too early for snake bites, MizT, but I don't think that's the problem. Buddy has had repeated injuries in that 1 leg... ruptured tendon, a fracture, sprains, abscesses in the hoof, and more. I have no idea what it is this time. No sign of swelling, thank goodness, but he really hurts.

Thoughts to Buddy

Thoughts and wishes to Al , will be waiting anxiously for the results of the scan, but am glad he doesn't have to go through any more of those treatments!

Theresa, how lovely of Splotch to jump up on you and cheer you up!!! I hope your daughter's scan is also great

Tami, save some for me! Watch out for those lickers...

Even Gil loves Buddy. He refers to Buddy as a big dog and gives him treats and pets him. He's afraid of the other horses.

A 23 year old has been elected in the State election! He was a Councillor here before that - and too young. He doesn't really know what he believes yet and is swayed by the conversation of the day.
