It seems to me that trying to live without friends is like milking a bear to get cream for your morning coffee. It is a whole lot of trouble, and then not worth much after you get it.

We've just had a Dr Patel sent to jail for doing unnecessary surgeries that he wasn't qualified to do, a few people died and others just suffer.

Where is everyone. I have a week to play on the pooter and none of my friends are here. At least they don't stay here. They pop in, post and leave.

Sleep well Tami.
I have been doing earthworks all morning. My shovel and I have levelled an area to put up a small hothouse so hubby and I can bring on seedlings for planting into the vegie garden. I tell you, he and I are serious about this veg growing stuff!
About a week ago, we built a platformed area to put up a small garden shed for all the gardening bits and bobs, and now the hothouse...tomorrow, the world!!!

HI FRIENDS, no time to read all the posts, I did finish page 5 though.

We are home! Incredibly busy day, I got food, dropped in to check on hubby, (since noone went today and since he cannot talk at the moment, voice should come back soon though)came home put it away, well most of it, got things together for bringing hubby home, went back to hospital. The social worker was coming out of room as I got there, and she gave me instructions how to get his antibiotic, they had arranged for us to get it pre paid, yeah! Treaked back to car, drove down the street and got the med, back to hospital, and tried to get a moments rest. About that time, they came in saying he ws discharged, and started that process. Packed up his belongings, helped him dress, and brought him home, THEN he had meds due, and needed fluids for down the tube. Like I said, busy day.

Did I say my back and hips are having a major flare, and walking or standing makes it worse. Resting with ice helps as much as pain meds do, I had hoped I cold take pain meds and keep up and about to do what needs be, Not working. I am calling doc tomorrow see when I can get appointment, see what he can do. Cross fingers and say little prayers I get an appointment soon.

Forgot 3 or 4 other small errands I ran today too, some were not a lot of walking though, that is good.

OH, We were hope less than 3 hours fore Al asked about Screech. The look on his face when I told him and the OH NO! He did not ask any questions, though.

Scooter still has not gone outside, she made it as far as the back porch, once while I was out there. She still is sticking to me like glue, is under my feet as I type. Has totally ignored AL, now that is not good.

Hugs to all and extras, I think I am getting sleepy.

MizT, please give Al a big hug from me. I'm sending you a gentle hug too. You poor darlings are going through such a rough time. I wish I could help you but I'm too far away.

Gail, when you finish in your yard, could you come and work in mine. The weeds are getting out of control and everything needs pruning. It sounds like you've had plenty of practice.
Do home grown veges taste better?

I tried to travel a different route to work today as my usual way has become very slow. After todays effort I'm going back to my old slow route as it's much quicker.

Sounds like a long, soothing massage would do wonders MizT, both with your ouchies and your spirit. Bet you're feeling flat at the moment. {hugs} for both you and Al.

Vicki, yes, I do believe home grown is better, we certainly know how fresh they are, not like when you buy them from the shops, you have no idea how long they have been in cold storage. I simply hate buying something and before you get it into the fridge it is already starting to look very average.
Hubby says there is a certain satisfaction being able to go out and pick or pull what you need at that time.

Gekko all,
Home again, and got nowhere near as much done as MizT! I haven't even put all the food away. HUGS MizT. Poor Scooter. I hope you get to sit with your ice soon...

Gail, veges last a lot better here than they did in LA. I guess they travelled further over there.

Vicki, my garden is disgusting right now. Can we share Gail?

Gekko my friends.
MizT, hope your get some rest soon, and an early appointment with the doc.
Gail, put me on the list for fresh vegies too, the only things health in my garden are the weeds and the bromeliads are going to bloom again. They both thrive on neglect.

Wow Suzy, hope it is what she wants and that she does well. I honestly hate that type of programme, though do watch the preliminary shows sometimes. I get so embarrassed for some of the performers who have been told they can sing when they are actually tone deaf. We all know this is not the case with Alie.
((HUGS)) MizT and Al, pleased he is out of hospital sorry he had to learn of Screech's demise.

(HUGS) for everyone else who needs them too.

Gail with all this veg production I can just see you standing selling the excess at the bottom of your drive. (Not sure what sort of passing trade you would have)

Zusy a friend of Teresa's went on and got to the finals down in Sydney, she was 18 and too scared to go. was a shame but not her time. I hope what Alie chooses is for herself.

I really don't have time friends, the vegie garden is somewhat tended, the rest is not!

Is she old enough to go on the show Suzy?

The big ad campaign this year is that they've reduced the entry age to 14, which is probably why Alie noticed it - how they plan to fit that in with schooling etc I don't know, but I'm not too worried as Alie has never auditioned for anything before so is unlikely to get past the first song. She, however, is way too excited about the idea. I figure I just won't mention it and see if she does..

BTW, I avoid all elimination type shows, including all of the cooking ones because I hate it when good people are eliminated, which has to happen when it gets to the point that everyone left is good. Alie makes us watch the dance and singing ones when she can.

Morning all. I was a bad mommy today. Woke the boys up way to early. Loaded them and the dog into the care. We stopped and picked up brekkie and then drove to the beach to watch the sunrise. We knew the dog was not allowed on the beach but we did not know he was not allowed on the sidewalk. We put chairs near the car and rolled down the windows. We took turns sitting in the car with Harley and watched the sunrise. I took a few pictures but they are not the best. It was cloudy. I will post later. The boys forgave us for waking them early.

I can understand the dog not being allowed on the beach Tami, but it is ridiculous not being allowed on the sidewalk(path). Is this on local beaches or all of them?

I can't understand the dog not being allowed on either one, as long as the owner has poop bags to clean up after it, and is on a leash, or under perfect control. There are too many laws these days, and they take away so much harmless fun.

I don't know. He would have been allowed on the sidewalk on the other side of the street.

Suzy.... Ask Alie's singing teacher (when Alie's not around) if she thinks Alie has a chance to make it past the first round. At her young age, that would be enough of an accomplishment to warrant letting her give it a try. Alie is used to performing on stage, so that could help her poise and prevent stage fright. But performing in front of cameras is another thing. She has to get used to it some time if she wants to continue with her musical career.

It's raining again. The mud was finally starting to dry up enough that I could walk through the high traffic areas in the front pasture and not sink up to my knees in mud.
