'We are all responsible for the love and protection of children - if we aren't, who is?'

It seems along time since I looked in my little book for a quotation.

June, I love your topp. It reminded me of a post by an educational page on facebook.

If kids come to us from strong, healthy functioning families, it makes our job easier. If they do not come to us from strong, healthy functioning families, it makes our job more IMPORTANT.

Hi all,
I just saw Cyn posting about MizT.
We all hope, this is nothing but a hiccup in your health issues Tricia. Best wishes for a speedy recovery and back to joining SA.

Suzy..fantastic quote! and very true.

Viv...not long ago, I didn't have anything purple in the wardrobe. Now, it is that popular that I have a few items. Hope you are pleased with the new glass's.

Nothing new going on here. Sonny (dog) has immunizations at 8am for heartworm etc. Conning Greg into getting up early so that I don't have to go.

I had better get some sleep,on afternoon shift tomorrow, which gives me 9 hrs before start.
Raining here AGAIN.
See you later.

Hi all. Sorry I have been missing for a while. I don't have any excuses except I have been bored with the computer. I miss my friends so I had to make it a point to come here for a visit. Other than checking email and a quick peek at facebook, I have been offline.

Glad to hear that MizTricia is back home. I was worried about her.

Heidi, wishing you safe travels. It is now Monday afternoon. I wonder what the results are. I will have to come back in a few days to look.

Posted by Joy on FB this morning: Got some good news this morning :-) my stepmom, (MizT) is going home from the hospital this afternoon! The procedure this morning confirmed no blockages in her heart, yay!! Thanks again for all of the love, thoughts and prayers. Whew!

Repost with the edit I should have made in the first place.

Good news about MizT!
Tami - I so agree. I'm so bored with it all these days. FB is just so boring lately, even I am ready to give it up. Nobody talks, everybody just fills the page with endless 'shares' of jokes and items on their 4th (or 10th) time around. Not meaning anyone here, but you all must have several friends who have forced you to either block them or amend what you see from them!!
And where SA was once such a lifeline, these days hours pass without a post. I miss the days where we would fill a few pages daily with chitchat.

Good news about MizT! Love and hugs to her. In fact love and hugs to all, whether you need them or not.

I have the girls tomorrow before and after school. Hubby is home for three days in a row, so I will need to share computer time. Sheesh.

My brother's first wife (first of three), passed away from cancer yesterday. I have not seen her in over 30 years. Two of his wives are now gone. I haven't seen my brother in probably over 10 years ... he is not one of my favourite people.

I am guilty of sharing things on TOS, mostly lost animals and people. Sorry!

Tami, I've been spending a lot less time on the computer too. Dropping most of the games helped.

Theresa, you can choose your friends but not your relatives. I'm sure his first 2 wives (at least) agree with you

Checking in without reading this page. I am home, angiogram was fine, no blockages, doc said he will probably never know what caused my episode of fast, irregular heart beats, chest pain that caused me to call medics. He offered several suggestions of what it might be but since they stopped, he is OK with not knowing.

I hope to get back here tomorrow to read, at the moment I am very tired. Oh well, my orders for today were 'do nothing, no lifting blah blah blah.' So let me get back to doing nothing today. Much happier to do nothing at home in my own recliner and bed hehehe

Hugs to each of you, with extras, till tomorrow.

Sorry, that should have been ...Like Viv....

I will be helping my oldest brother celebrate his 60th birthday this weekend even though it is actually on Monday 25th.

Mum is having her hip replacment on 22nd March. Guess what I'll be doing for the next few weeks after that? I'll get to add hospital/rehab visits to my list of things to do.

Last week I was out every night. I was shattered by the end of the week. This week I'm only out once ...last night for weight watchers. 4.8kg gone and about another 10kg to go. I'm just plodding along but at least it's going down not up like it was before.

Hello my little Lovelies! Hope you're all happy and having a good time. :)

MizT, so glad you're ok. :D

Nothing much happening here - walked to the supermarket (in the next suburb), looked at some magazines, got some nice fruit, thought about buying something decadent, but couldn't decide what, so went home instead ... :0

That's about it, really. Have a happy day. :)

Suzy, you are forgiven for whatever it was you posted that I never saw . I am sure it was nothing, really.

Can I join the boring club today. sure nothing going on here. so bored, and nothing on TV, I was checking out 'gypsy sisters', another reality show. Did not take long to check that out heheh. Where do they get this stuff??

think I will go to bed early, Friday night I got NO sleep, in ER from about 10 till 4:30 am, then to room. Of course being a new admit they had to hurry through admission stuff before their shift ended, so there went the rest of the dark hours. Then started tests. In 3 days they did every cardiac test known to man, still found no answer to the Friday episode. But saw just enough 'little hints' to send me on for further tests. They saw some calcium deposits on heart arteries, he said on, not in, and no restriction of blood flow. Guess for an old broad I am in pretty good shape, heart wise. Mom always was same, guess I got her genes instead of my dad's. NO cholesterol deposits, yeah, maybe I can convince him I really do not need statin drugs, since this has not changed in 5 years. The calcium deposits come from diabetes, says he, but my keeping good A1C numbers is 'probably why there was no more than there was, and no blockages.

I am out of here, eyelids heavy. Hugs to each of you, with extras.

Greetings from warm (today) and cold (tomorrow) suburbs of Chicago! Thinking of all of you and hoping all are well. It's good to know that MizT has been checked and passed with flying colors!

Though I had a little more time in bed last night, it didn't really help, as I spent that time awake. Hoping tonight will be more productive in the sleep category. I need to be in good physical shape for 3 straight days of cello festival (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) followed by a lesson with accompanist Monday and another lesson with one of the clinicians (friend of cello-playing D). That may seem a little strange, since I've known her, her sisters and her parents since she was 4.

I did a quick glance through comments, but can't get my brain functioning enough to respond meaningfully. It was nice to see posts from Viv, Vicki and Tami! Well, tomorrow is another day, so hopefully I'll do better.

Sending lots of {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, prayers, healing vibes, and positive thoughts for everyone!

So, the general consensus of opinion is that none of us post much because we are all leading boring lives. Hahaha!! Except for Julie, who is always busy!
Tricia - all it was that Suzy posted was a direct copy of Joy's FB post with your full name on it. Since most or all of us know it, and probably no-one much else ever reads it, I doubt that you'll get any stalkers from it. lol
Judy - I would have kept looking until I found something decadent to eat!
Hi Vicki - Gail has been posting on FB but, I think is like most of us, not bothering much for whatever reason. Happy Birthday to your brother, and I hope all goes well for your mother, especially the recovery part!

Evening all,
MizT, it's so glad to see you back here with all the good test results. Can we hope for a 'never to be repeated' on the problems? I hope so. Hopefully it was related to the bug you had. (Sorry I put your whole name up in here..)

Viv, I haven't found your posts boring before. I don't see why that would change. I love hearing about the day to day things people do..

Ditto Vicki! Day to day stuff is good to hear. Your bro shares a birthday with my D. Happy Birthday to him! I was so spoiled with my mum. She was an independent sod and did it all herself.

Judy, that sounds like a good long walk and a big day!

Julie, I'll be thinking about you this weekend and know you will do very well. I hope you enjoy all the lessons too... It's good that you enjoy it with it taking so much of your time.

Cyn, I'm not a huge fan of texting either. I love it's convenience, but not for long conversations.

Well Three has done it again. He's moving to Canberra and leaving Dana and Tahli to fend for themselves. I'm heartbroken for her!

The neurologist I've been referred to is retiring and not taking new patients. I'm on a waiting list for another guy who doesn't even know what days he will be in town as he works mostly out of Sydney. Of course I need to get a new referral even to go to him.

Didn't know you were getting a caravan Broni! I wondered why you were getting such a high powered car, especially with the cost of fuel these days. You'll have to post pictures of both when you get the caravan.
I too lead a very boring life, but still like to know what my friends are up to around the world.
This week is half term for our schools, which means my eldest daughter is home too.We are going out for lunch today not sure where but I'm sure it will be enjoyable.

I too love to hear the day-to-day of every one of you, it is not boring. I have learned so much from you. Things I previously just read a blurb about, I come to understand the real story, how the news affects friends and their families.

Brush fires in Australia is just a headline. Knowing that Gail packs her auto and leaves home for the day because she might not have time to get out is a total understanding of what thousands are going through.

Same for floods, hearing what Nola is going through with her brother, and her rental place makes it very real. I thank each of you for that sharing, that understanding.

So to all of you, post about what you are doing and be glad it is on the boring side. Too much excitement can be because something bad is going on. There are things to learn from your 'boring' lives.

Viv, shows us what our Avon representative really goes through to bring beauty into our lives. Theresa shows us what it is like to run a home when she does not drive an auto, and all about caring for the ferral cats, problems with grandchildren, not boring at all. Suzy and Judy have shown us what dealing with a brain injury is like. Mama, of course always enlightens us with her wonderful way with words, and we have seen how she has recovered from an accident. Rolanda has shown us the joys and trials of building a home in Australia. I could go on and on, but you get the idea, there is a story within every one of your lives, and do not for a minute think you are boring. Just tell us about your world, it is soo different from mine in so many ways, and I do enjoy hearing.

There is something I really want to do today at 2 pm, and yeah, it is in the meeting room on my floor, just 2 doors down. It is a book club, and I dearly love reading, so this would be good for me. I gonna try to make that. Would not try if it were in the other building and down stairs, so I do thank them for having it so close to me .

Best prepare me some lunch (luckily I have planned overs to make it easy) then have a rest before dressing for book club.

BTW, a hint for when you are told to take it easy. Wear jammies all day, a good reminder to keep you resting! Besides jammies are comfy hehehe

Hugs to each of you, with extras. Later.

Morning all,
Well I woke up a full hour before I needed to.. I stayed in bed and tried to get back to sleep but no such luck. Now my alarm has gone off and here I am. Hubby is worried about me driving to work today - this is the further away place. I told him if I can't drive it, I can't work. I am going to tell them that I'm not available Thu, Fri, don't want to push my luck. Try one day and go from there.

MizT, I hope you make it to the book club! I love the sound of your new place.. Your jammies advice is good. I think I'll take it tomorrow. I will do one trip into town to get my new referral and visit Dana and Tahli.

Broni, can't wait to hear of your travels once you get the caravan! I'm hoping there will be lots of shorter, localish trips and a few (at first) longer distance ones... A van would fit in my front yard for example.

Brenda, one day I'd love to be the one you are meeting for lunch.

Well, time to get ready..

Suzy...Hope you have a great day working and driving, but agree that you shouldn't push beyond the one day...BABY STEPS DO IT.
Trica...so very well said re the 'boring' stuff ... Folks its not boring..its life that we know and love and learn from..Please keep it going...I have tired of the computer at times, but love to read what is happening with others. My two cents worth.
So my last two days have been boringly productive...I've emptied two boxes of books and will start culling some of my old ones since I'm running out of space...good thing I have the e- reader and don't have to worry about space for awhile. I washed and folded clothes, cleaned my vacuum and cleaned the living room and dining room as well as my stove top which had become a grease factory since both my grand daughter and I have been having allergy problems and haven't done a good job of cleaning it recently, and then I topped all of that off with making a modified New Orleans Gumbo for dinner tonight..just have to cook the rice..Busy, busy...and it felt good to accomplish something...The posting of it has tired me more than the doing of it since I would work a bit and sit a bit...but kept going until it was done...
Okay...you've had my boring now you can give me yours..hehe..
Take care all...Know that I care...AND am not bored! Peace.
Getting ready to post and see that I didn't say hello...so hello and goodbye.

GEKKO everybody! I'm back home in one piece, and by myself. As we were dressed and leaving for the courthouse on the day of the trial, the lawyer called to tell us that the social workers asked for a 2 month continuance because they aren't ready. Word around the courthouse has it that they will probably be dropping all charges against him. Which is a pity because he needs to get a serious correction to his violent temper. And Maxine still isn't quite ready to leave him yet.

I'm about to go out and do my first cow check since I got back after my all-night drive. I've had a nap now so have a little energy to go out. IH said that there have been no calves born in the past 3 days. We'll see if he's correct.
