my boring life : workmen here today, to reduce the sandpit out the front of the house.
Brick paving out the back finished yesterday.

Going to be a very HOT HUMID 38C, Black Cloudy overcast, blink and you miss moisture from the sky type of day today. You never know we might get a heavy downpour sometime today.. there was a bit of thunder earlier on.
yesterday it was just plain 40C+ HOT day!!!!

Have got a load in the sloshy machine, will hang the load in the garage ( have a clothes line against the wall in there).. speaking of which, I hear the S Machine beeping at me to empty it.

Jane's TOS post :
Life is full of ups and downs, Shar. It wasn't that long ago that you were posting about some unhappy events in your life. I am truly glad you have pulled yourself out of your unhappy state and are on the track to a good, productive life. I don't know what I would have done iwthout the love and support of my Sudoku family over the past several months, and I apologize if the messages I posted about Jaime's and my last journey together upset or offended anyone. I am on the road to recovery, but it will not be easy. I thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for the strength and hope you have given me. Bless you all!

Not here, supervising year 12 physics. Heidi Shar complained that she wasn't going to the sudoku part of facebook anymore because there were too many people asking for prayers etc, it was getting too negative in there and it was getting her down. Jane pointed out that it wasn't so long ago that Shar was there asking for support during her hard time...

MizT, I love the sound of the progress made. So wonderful for him and for his family. I'm sure he is aware that he can now do things he couldn't before and it has to feel good! I have urges to find him and give him a great big hug.. impossible of course, but it was the first thing that popped into my head.

Good afternoon folks..
Tricia that is the most extraordinary of news.
I have had a lot of first hand knowledge on the difficulties of autism. That is an incredible milestone.

Theresa I like both of your holiday options!!
Both would suit me. The cabin would be good 'cos then I could take my beloved Zoe.

There has been a bit of tummy bug doing the rounds down here as well. I'm been better than my house mates..Not going to say more because of my superstitious nature.. have a 9 hour drive tomorrow and having D & V is not on the agenda..

Rolanda that is good news about the paving. I'm thinking what a difference that will make to your cleaning .. also when the turf goes in. Kill the dust. The big downer about the dogs is the dust.. no grass in the back yard anymore.. will put down some artificial turf.. don't want the whole yard mulched

Broni your travel plans sound similar to mine.. only I am looking more towards motor home options plus a bike or runabout of some description. Won't be too far of hopefully if all my hard work comes off.. no $ to speak of yet.. If you can get it into my drive you are welcome.. do I need to remove one of my gate posts?

MizT - I was so delighted to read about the progress your grandson is making. I hope it continues. Must be a wonderful feeling for you all.
I am feeling a lot better today, not quite there yet but after being light-headed this morning, that cleared and I ever braved driving. My closest shopping centre is 11 kms drive over some narrow, but busy, roads. Yesterday I could not attempt it. We do have a small IGA store and a BP service station close by but their prices are so high we only use them in emergencies.

JULIE SAID: We have become comfortable friends with each other and don't need to try to impress!

OH, we were supposed to impress people? guess I did not get that memo

Wonderful idea from Julie, I will tell you about my dream vacation, but the vacation I had in October was pretty first rate!

Gee, I got interrupted again, then a nice 4 hour nap, I was that tired. So I think I should post this now, and start fresh in the morning. Hugs to each of you, with extras.

Good Evening, Everyone! This is just a quick visit, as the day has slipped away from me. The alarm is set for 6 a.m. This week, we are taking the commuter train into Chicago for puppy sitting 'duties.' Of course we love the puppy, but it's especially nice to be able to have a few minutes of face-to-face time with D before she leaves for work!

I'll try to read & comment tomorrow. I may have very little time to visit here - or might be too exhausted Friday through Sunday.

{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}, , positive thoughts, healing vibes and prayers for everyone! Good Night!

Good evening.
MizT, that is wonderful news about your grandson. I do hope he keeps improving.
We thought MIL would be home tomorrow but she started passing blood today so now that has to be fixed. Although her blood levels are OK it could be because of the blood thinners she had been on for some time. They are giving her some vitamin K tonight to see if that works.
Playing in a bowls carnival tomorrow (two games) and out for coctails tomorrow night. (People I worked with 50 years ago)
Hope Suzy survived today and is NOT working tomorrow. I know the money is important but we do not want to see you overdo things!

It's cold here and I keep seeing the odd snowflake falling, hope it doesn't come to anything.
Viv, I am knitting but not very quickly these days. I have an aran sweater on the go, probably for one of my daughters, and have just started some baby things for a colleague of my husband who's baby is due in July.
In the next couple of weeks I have year end books to sort for the company and the dreaded VAT return to do too.
For my dream holiday I too would love to go on an Alaskan cruise, I don't really fancy cruising but the sights to see up in Alaska would be worth it.
Australia would be good too, but to do it justice Richard would have to be retired so we could spend a long time going all over the country (not too bothered about cities as I am not a city person)

Had a hard time falling asleep last night.... a combination of a good book, pushy dogs and running to the bathroom every 20 minutes. I finally settled for a 3 hour nap after dawn.

Bean.... Thank you for sending me a copy of those facebook comments. I don't see where it's all that different than the SA pages, except you can ''like'' comments. I think I'll just stay here. Those comments showed all of the delightful ladies here to be caring, loving people who can accept different opinions with open minds, but without being too saccharine sweet.I'm proud to know all of you and thrilled that I can call you my friends.

I need to do a cow check now, then unhook my trailer and dash to the bank for cash for tomorrow, and to the dollar store for a few basics. I'd rather take a brief nap, first.

Hi everyone.
Tahli.
I hope Suzy, that you have been teaching her how to blow out candles. Have a lovely dinner out celebrating.
MizT...it must be a thrill to both your Grandson and his parents on his latest achievements. All these little steps add up. Hope you, are going great now also.
All these tummy bugs going around ! Get better all those affected.

Dream holiday.
Mine was always to stay on an island on the Barrier Reef. Just lazing and swimming and not having to cook. Well, Tasmania is like an island, but I might have to cook.
4 shifts to go...and I cannot wait.

No cows have calved since the day before I left for North Carolina. There are only 4 calves so far, 3 heifers and 1 bull calf. The 2 preemies we lost were one of each.

I was a bad girl and took that nap before running my errands. I now need to feed hay to the cows. They sure like to eat, but they're going through much less hay now that all the older calves are gone.

Happy Birthday Tahli .... my goodness, a year already????

Maggie is in a lot of pain from the hip and now can barely walk. Hopefully the x-rays will happen tomorrow. From now on I will be dropping off the girls at the bus stop in the morning and then picking them up at the daycare after school every day that their father is not there. My SIL is living next door about 3 or 4 days a week and then staying at his mom's condo the rest of the time. They are not telling the girls they are separated, only that daddy has to work long hours on those days when he isn't there (which is true). So my appearance here might be spotty, but I will try to pop in to let you know I am OK.

Off to bed. I'm leaving for Dayton, Ohio tomorrow at 8 am to pick up the cockatiels. I'm a little concerned because they're under a winter storm advisory, with possibly icy roads, until noon tomorrow, which is when I'm arriving there.I have 2 cat carriers ready to bring them home in, so they won't be overcrowded. Both have newspaper on the bottoms, with spill proof waterers and several millet sprays for snacking on the way home.

Afternoon all,
I didn't realise I hadn't posted this morning. I read and thought about it...

Busy day today - took Alie to school, found a charm for Tahli (a duck because her favourite thing is her rubber duck), went to rehab, did some shopping, tried unsuccessfully to nap, went to visit Dana and pick up Alie from school, did some things at Dana's to give her a hand, and now I'm home, but only for a little while. When hubby gets home we'll go back to Dana's with Tahli's presents and a cake. It will be an early night for me tonight.

I would have rather have spent the day sitting around reading a book as I was sooooo tired after working for 2 days. That was my limit so even if they had called me today I couldn't have gone. I am working Monday though.

It was funny, at rehab when I told her I had gone to work she asked if I'd had any trouble making myself heard. I told her I thought I was doing well until someone said they couldn't hear me. Apparently she was going to tell me to practice yelling...

Brenda, your knitted baby things are amazing! Anyone would be lucky to receive some of those - as we were!!! I hope the snow didn't set in.

Heidi, drive safe! I hope the forecast is wrong.

Theresa, gentle hugs to Maggie... I hope something can be done. I wonder how they will eventually tell the girls? It's not going to be pretty. I don't envy them that, or anyone who will be around to deal with the fall out.

Nola, the barrier reef is magical! Definitely go if you can. I went in January which was way too hot. I had never been able to snorkel, I felt like I was suffocating, but on the reef I became a pro - there was so much to see!! It was amazing! And the boats only go to places that are already impacted by boats going there!! I would love to be able to dive on the reef..but I think I left my run too late on that one.

I'd better post this before I lose it, I keep walking away and coming back.

Greetings and Salutations to one and all! I got here before midnight, so will try to read and comment before falling asleep. I'm enjoying reading about 'dream' vacations! Thanks to all who have shared!

MizT, what wonderful and amazing news about your grandson! I hope he continues to make progress! Everyone must be SO excited!

Cyn, it's good to hear that you are feeling better

Suzy, you have such determination and strength/fortitude! You go, Girl! You are challenging yourself to do more than you expected you could comfortably do. May each day teaching get easier and may your confidence continue to grow!

Heidi, drive carefully tomorrow! We only have a light coating of snow on sidewalk and driveway. (The grass was still covered from previous snowstorms, so it's harder to tell how much snow has fallen.) Perhaps the storm won't be as severe as predicted (I hope) and won't negatively impact your drive to and from Dayton!

Rolanda, great strides have been made via Landscaping (Stage 1)! There's even some green to see! I'm sure the outdoors will soon look as inviting as the indoors!

Broni, I hope you find the caravan you like at a price you can afford! You and Bella will have some wonderful trips!

Suzy, sending Happy Birthday wishes for Tahli! Will she have a chance to make a mess with a birthday cake? Did Three already leave, or will he at least be around for her first birthday party? Enjoy dinner out!

MizT, I hope your tummy bug is soon completely out of the picture!

Vicki, I hope all is well and work is not too demanding right now, especially since you will have extra work after your Mum has her surgery

June, sending positive thoughts for your MIL! Enjoy the bowls carnival tomorrow. Enjoy cocktails tomorrow evening with your coworkers from a few years ago.

Brenda, it sounds like you will be very busy with business-related activities. I hope you find time to complete your knitting projects.

Heidi, I'm sorry to hear about your broken tooth, but not surprised that you were pro-active and took care of gluing it in yourself! Will you be OK driving to and from Dayton with so little sleep? Please be careful! Congrats on the 2 new calves!

Nola, I am SO excited for you! Just 4 more shifts! It seems (to me) as if the time has flown. It probably doesn't to you. Are your bags packed? I hope everything goes smoothly, the weather is wonderful, and you get lots of R & R!

Theresa, Maggie must be frustrated that she is once again dealing with so much pain. Hopefully X-rays will assist her doctors in determining why the pain has returned. {{{{HUGS}}}} to her and courage to face it daily! I'm also thinking about you and your extended family members!

Heidi, have a safe trip!

Since I'm not sure if I'll be able to get here tomorrow through Monday, I'm sending along an over-abundance of , {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, positive thoughts, healing vibes and prayers for

I'm back with my birds. They're delightful, though I wish the breeder hadn't clipped their wings. It's hard for them to get around in a flight cage with clipped wings.
After I put the cockatiels in their cage, I went to check for new calves. While I was gone, one of the older cows had given birth to twin heifers (IH tagged them), and while I was standing there, one of the youngest cows gave birth to a bull calf (I tagged it).
