Back again, as I didn't get any sleep. Managed to tidy the computer room and mop the floor, paid a few bills and stayed quiet.

Brenda..wow,2 meals out with Indian & Chinese,and a concert.You did well.

Heidi...glad the weather there is great for calving and I hope it continues for you.

Rolanda... I had a look at your recent house pics. It looks lovely. Are you putting plants in the built up area near the grass or the other part?

My neighbor is now home after 4 wks in Brisbane after radiation for lung cancer.Skinny, tired and glad to be back with her puppy. She has dreadful memory loss and told me the same thing AT LEAST, 12 times in the hour I spent with her.I think she might have Alzheimer's. She told me,they found cancer and she had to have treatment.Poor dear, doen't remember that she went to Bris for the cancer treatment. Her hubby is 74yrs and feeling the strain of watching her constantly by making sure she turns the stove off and managing the household.Bad timing with us going away when I could have helped them more. I will try to insist that they let me, at least do some cleaning for them, when I get home before,I go back to work.

Greg & I watched the girls do a dance concert Sat night. They aren't shy at all up on stage and Renae was so proud. So were their Grandparents. hehe
Catch you all next time.

So far no new calves today. That's fine with me.

MizT.... I agree that it's essential to not think of the pain, or you will spiral into depression and self pity.

It's after midnight and I just got in from the final cow check. Nobody looks like they're going into labor any time soon, so I don't have to do a 3 am check. No calves today.

Hi all.
Brenda, I'm sorry I missed your day. It sounds like you had a wonderful celebration.
Tahli. One year old already - that year seems to have gone so fast.

Hubby is home today so I had the day off as well. It's pouring rain so we went to the movies to see 'Quartet'. We both really enjoyed it. We then had lunch and now we're home doing nothing.
Unfortunately I will have to go back to work tomorrow and it's supposed to be just as wet as today. It will be a long slow trip.

I'm no longer a supporting member since my credit card was hacked. Even though I've set up my details on PayPal it seems to refuse to accept them. I'll have another attempt another day. I still have to sort out the electricity and phone companies plus my champagne supplies.

I'm worn out after one day of work this time, possibly because I haven't really stopped since the last 2. Dana is here as it's hard to look after a baby with no power, even if they have turned one!

She says thank you for all the birthday wishes by the way..

Dana turned 20 today so we are about to leave to go out for dinner.

Nola, if I wake up early and everyone is asleep I either play on the computer or read a book, swearing is the last thing I do!

Hi Tami, hope all is good with you and you aren't too busy. Spending less time in here is probably helping with time available for other things..

Nola, the girls looked absolutely gorgeous. I love going to those concerts, though the acts that my kids weren't in seemed to go on forever and theirs were over way too fast.

One of the guys I subbed for today was performing at the Opera House! Apparently kids who do really well in their music HSC can nominate to play 'On Stage' and a girl from the high school I was at today was chosen. The teacher was her accompaniment. Next time I see him I'll have to tell him how exciting I think it was that he got to play at the Opera House!!

Hi all.
Suzy...another birthday I missed. Wishing that Dana had a lovely day.

Just heard that the Bruce Hwy is cut from flood waters at Gympie, which I was afraid of.Now we cannot get to Brisbane to catch our flight to Hobart on Thursday. Trying to work out what to do. Leave now and hope to get thru on western Hwys or wait and see if the water recedes.

I cannot believe the luck I am having lately.

Not good conditions in trying to get thru. We will finish packing, drop Sonny off at the pet accommodation and try to get to Bris on whatever Hyw available. At least if we can get to Brisbane,we can stay in a motel and not miss the flight.

Wish us luck and I will be in contact.
Byee We will be extra careful and not drive thru roads that are more than 200ml deep.

Broni, you'll just have to take another holiday and head down the coast to us - plenty of room for a caravan in our front yard. hint hint

I'm back from the local Lions Club meeting. This was my first meeting as treasurer pro tem. I told them right off that if anybody didn't like the job I was doing, the job was theirs. I had no complaints.

Now to go back outside. There's a cow in labor who's taking her time and making a racket about it.

Greetings, Everyone!

Hi, V Viv! Hopefully the humidity is lower and the air is easier to breathe! Good luck with your Avon campaign!

Broni, so glad to hear that it's mostly good for you!

Nola, I hope you have a safe drive to Brisbane for your flight to Hobart. Thinking positive thoughts that all works out well!

Heidi, I hope being the Lions Club treasurer pro tem doesn't become too much of a chore! Calving seems to be well under way! We're always glad to hear about the healthy ones! Did it turn out that the noisy cow had twins?

I am headed to bed - really need to get caught up on some sleep! I'm sending along a large supply of {{{{{ H U G S for everyone!

It's 3 am, and that cow hasn't had a second calf yet. I still think she's acting more restless than a mother normally acts when they're done calving. I'll check her again in the morning.

Rain rain and more rain here, with a bit of thunder thrown in for spice. so glad I am not a bit further north. Heidi was the master of understatement when she mentioned snow. HOPE she only gets a bit, but this is another named winter storm going north of me, forget the name, and blizzard conditions in some areas, with from 12 to 18 inches of snow. Eighteen inches is aprox half a meter, a LOT of snow. I do not think Heidi will get that much.

Of course with the storm I have the achies. Tonight, as sometimes happens, my pain meds were full of energy, instead of sleep. I have the wide awakes better wide awake and not hurting than sleepy and hurting.

I went out for a few errands today. I noticed a bit ago I did not park between the lines of my parking space. Tomorrow I will go and correct that, if I do not go out. I should have run by the pool, even if I could not go in (thunder and everyone out of the pool until there is 30 minutes of no thunder). I MUST sign in one more time before Friday. Was too tired to go today. I think I said I had another of the tummy wogs yesterday, and those wipe me out. I have lost 8 pounds this month! Happy for the loss, but this is not the way to do it.

did I tell, I got my hair cut? About 5 or 6 inches cut from it! barely will go into a stubby ponytail at the moment, but looks very nice if curled a bit as it dries, a nice long bob. One washing, it stayed styled really well, a bruch through was all it took to keep it under control. Next washing, I went to sleep with hair in a turban,(I was cold, intended to just climb in bed till I got warm, yeah right) and although it was not completely dry, it did not take to styling well. Today I bought a large barrel curling iron, mousse, hair spray, some barrettes and some side combs to help with the styling. Never used all that stuff when it was longer hehehe.

OK, back to bed. Nola, your insomnia must have been contagious.

Hugs to each of you, with extras, till later.

Hi All,
Just here to say hello...all is not well in my family. My niece, whom I think of as a daughter, is
hospitalized with brain bleeding. The brain stem is dead. While this means she is no longer able to function and no recovery will be made, her only child, has not yet made the decision to remove the life support...She is just stunned and overwhelmed because there was no known precipitating happening....It's just a wait until reality time sets in...My heart is broken for my loss and more so for my grand niece who has been so strong throughout. Of course my sister is in fragile health too so that's weighing on her mind, but I think my sister will deal with what is...I'm just so sad and apologize if I'm bringing others down too, but it does help to acknowledge what I'm feeling. I know I have your love and support, but this writing is really what I need at the moment. Peace...with hopes that all are fairing better than I at the moment.

I am so sorry to hear that, Mama. The whole family must be devastated. I know this question may sound callous, but is she an organ donor? If she is, at least part of her will live on helping others after the decision is made to say goodbye. And what you describe isn't causing her any pain. That's a blessing.

My love and hugs to you and your family. We all care deeply about you and understand the pain you're feeling.

Mama, sharing your pain. Prayers go out to you and your family. Actually I had the same thought as Heidi. I know there are two people who can see much better because they have Sharon's cornias. (the only thing they could use because of the cancer)

I have been busy. I lost a neighbour Sunday night and I have been helping to set out the program for the funeral so that it could go to the printers today. Eight pages, with hymns prayers and photos. Another cancer victim. He had just turned eighty and his wife is such a sweet person and a wonderful friend. They lost a son in a car accident almost 30 years ago.(and that seems like almost yesterday!)
We have also started our 'Pennant' bowls season which means we play twice a week against other clubs. This will last till Easter.
I will have Laura staying this weekend. We will all go and visit Belinda on Sunday.
Hairdresser today as well! Last night it was a visit to a Thia restaurant with a group of friends. Love the food.

When did they start naming winter storms? This seems new to me.

Thanks for your messages lovely people. Heidi, your question wasn't callous at all. My niece was a living organ donor and yes, in death she will continue to share her love by helping others. She was only 59 years old, and in fairly good health, so much can most likely be harvested....and it is a blessing indeed. This detail is being done today so life support will be stopped soon. We will have a memorial service most likely after Easter, according to my sister. This niece was the first baby in our family since I had been born and we had a strong bond. I was so very proud to be her auntie, and she was just so special to me. I took care of her and was so happy to babysit her...it was my first job, and she was quite a task master... I am feeling a little more adjusted to the idea, but it will take some time.
June, condolences to you to...a friend is also a big loss. Not the happiest day on SA, but its still heartwarming to come to this page and feel the love and support in such a real way.♥
Now if Rocky forgets that he made a big splash here many years ago, and we've erected a statue of him here...his namesake storm will by-pass us this time around. Fingers crossed.
SMH at the naming of the winter storms too...Maybe a way of tracking them for easy weather reference in years to come, since we seem to be having more than one big storm
a year recently.

Heidi, I too wonder if that noisy cow had another calf. I am glad 'Rocky' will miss you. I think it is just this winter we are seeing names for the winter storms, I do not remember any named storms last winter. No idea why they did that, name them I mean.

I am doing something today I never do. Hide the children's eyes, gonna swear, but I am ironing. I had ordered 2 new shirts, and a pair of Jammies, that were so terribly wrinkled. If I had my own dryer, I would have tried a fast tumble with a damp towel first, but did not want to trek upstairs to the laundry room to try it. So out came the ironing board, to discover my back can hold up to only 2 items at a time. Hope to get the other items ( I found an unironed blouse in a drawer, also) so I can get everything back where it belongs. That storage closet is like a 3 D jigsaw puzzle hehehe.

Hugs to each of you, with extras, till later.

Mama - so sorry to hear about your niece. Such a sad situation. You and your family will be in my thoughts as you deal with this. Big cyber hugs coming to you.
June - sorry also to hear about the loss of your friend. One of the things I hate about growing older is losing friends and loved ones so often. My cousin was hospitalised on the weekend but whatever they have done has eased his pain for the moment and he'll be allowed to go home today. We know it's only temporary but even one extra day is good.
