No, I will never grow up, either. You're only as old as you feel.

The puppies are running around my feet right now, impatiently waiting for their brekkie. Still no messes on the carpet.

Happy Mother's day to all those lovely Mothers and those that do Motherly acts to friends and animals.
I have Laura (asleep in my bed). We will call at the cemetery and then continue up to Belinda's. She has prawns and chicken for us for lunch.
Laura brought home the class mascot for the weekend. An almost full sized white tiger. We drag it around everywhere we go!

Hi everyone! Happy Mother's Day to those that are celebrating today. ♥
We visited our Mum yesterday - she seems well, but much frailer each time. It's a long and tiring trip, but we're happy to see her smiling ... and watching her try out the chockies! :)
I've been working in the garden a bit, and everything is looking much better. My foot doesn't hurt as much (Yay!), but I still don't get about very well.
That's about all, really. Hope you are all well and happy - love to you all! ☺

Hi Friends, I just typed about a half paragraph that did not connect with my 'comments' box, glad it was not more than that. I should look at my screen more hehehe.

today was a quite day for me, I had 2 long naps. that is why I am up late tonight. Had my shower, shampooed, put curlers in hair, so I will be beautiful as can be tomorrow. My sister is coming down, we will go out to lunch. Her family celebrated today, so will spend tomorrow together. That should be fun.

I am learning a lot from the website teaching ASL (American Sign Language) Still on lesson one, but I can sign Hello Teacher, in sign that is HI Teach Person hehehe. the person sign is used after a lot of signs to make them into a word describing what a person does. I ran across a 'how to sign' question that had the word 'cashier' in it. That was signed 'calculator person'. Student is 'learn learn person' Seems logical to me. The repeat of the learn turns it into learning, very efficent, reduces number of signs to remember. I am having so much fun with this. I now remember all but 4 of the alphabet signs for finger spelling. A couple of those just do not seem natural. I think I mentioned I learned those in fifth grade of school. I am wondering if a few of those signs have changed in the last 50 years? Especially what they are teaching for F. Either that changed, or we were doing it wrong, my fingers automatically go to the 'old' way I did it, from memory. OH, just looked, it is down to 3 letters, one I can remember now. One of the others was the P. My name in school was Patricia, I know I signed that a thousand times. I do not remember the P as it is now signed. Next class is on Monday. I shall ask the teach person if there was a change.

JUDY, good to see you posting. Garden work can be so rewarding, as Nola said earlier, I do hope you are enjoying seeing the results of your efforts.

JUNE, I imagine you get a few strange looks, traveling with an almost full sized white tiger. Would love to travel around behind you to see reactions hehehe.

Time for bedtime meds, then gonna try to sleep again. Hugs to each of you, with extras.

Happy Mothers Day to all you lovely SA people including, as June said, those who are mothers to their pets and those who are wonderful sisters and friends. Thinking also of those of us whose mothers have passed. They may be gone but are still much loved Mothers.
Had Andrew and his 3 girls here earlier and now waiting for Karin and her 2 kids. That's my mothers day present - seeing my kids! Although Andrew brought me some lovely roses

Just had the sad news that Jimmy passed away at lunchtime today. Feel very sad. It will be a hard loss for his wife of 47 years, their 3 children and many grandchildren as well as his 2 brothers. The oldest of 16 cousins, he always had the respect of all of us and we will miss him.

Cyn, hugs to you. RIP Jimmy.

Last evening we went to a magic show. Maggie and her youngest came with us, but oldest didn't want to go. Because hubby is working today, he took us out for Chinese buffet before the show to celebrate Mother's Day. The show was held in a high school auditorium and boy, the seats were really uncomfortable on my back. Tailbone area is aching today, so I think a nap later with the hot water bottle is in order. It was a good time, lots of laughter, and well worth the achies today!

It's raining today, what the heck is up with that? MOTHER Nature makes it rain on Mother's Day??? Seriously???

Have a good one, everybody!

That sign language that you're learning sounds fascinating MizT. I can see future uses for it too, not just communicating with the deaf residents. If you should happen to lose your voice (temporarily), it would be easier to sign what you want than to search for paper and pen.

We had to treat that calf with pneumonia again. He was looking better mid week, but just took a turn for the worst. IH wanted to pen him up, with his mother, so we could keep a close eye on him, but I feel that he'll be healthier out on a clean grassy pasture than in a muddy pen. With all the rain that we've had, any pen we put them in will be a mud hole in minutes.

I'm gonna have a good week. IH is going out of town tomorrow and will be gone 4 days! Then on Saturday is the annual Lions Club outing to Churchill Downs. A day of friends, horses and good food. And I get to win a little money, too.

Heidi, hope the calf again responds to treatment and it 'sticks' this time.

Here is the link to lesson one of ASL I have been studying, if Heidi or anyone is interested enough to take a look. I am still finding new ways to study this lesson on the site, and still enjoying. Half way through a 30 minute video, no audio, just signing by student and teacher putting up words, phrases on screen for her to sign, and you know, I could do most of them! I will go back to that for more practice later tonight. Might be good if I look at materials from my 'in person' class before tomorrow, too.

Enjoyed a day out with my sister, but we both tired quickly shopping. I have not figured out just how we wound up at fast food for lunch, I really wanted a nice sit down cafe. I think by then we were tired, and sis needed some place with PLAIN grilled chicken, but I had my favorite small mango pineapple smoothie and a small hamburger, it was good.

I bought more flowers, and sis brought me one of the big pots I had at her house, another floor pot for the driveway area. Bought raspberry swirl geraniums and and white alyssum, I think it will do nicely. Best deal I had seen on geraniums of any size, $1.29 each. I wanted red, but could not find 3 of same shade red, unless they were way in back, could not reach that far. These will be better with the ruby red begonias that live in an adjacent container.

OK I need some dinner, that small burger is not gonna sub for lunch and dinner today. I have one more stuffed bell pepper in fridge, need some veg, wonder what I can find??

Hugs to each of you, with extras. I hope to be back later to respond to the few new posts.

Greetings, Everybody! Happy Mother's Day!

Cyn, I'm so sorry to hear about Jimmy. May he RIP.

Theresa, I'm sorry to hear the seats at the magic show were so uncomfortable. Hopefully the magic show was enjoyable.

MizT, the sign language course sounds like fun. I had a high school classmate whose oldest brother was deaf. A bunch of us learned to finger spell and sometimes were known to 'chat' briefly in class. None of was very good or very fast, so we didn't use it a lot. I'll try to look at the link later.

Heidi, I hope the calf responds to the medication! Enjoy the time while IH is out of town this week!

Broni, I hope things are going well this week!

I'm running out of steam, so am about to head to bed. {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, positive thoughts, prayers, healing vibes and for everyone!

Hello All, Cool and windy here today...almost feel like putting on the heat...but too cheap to pay the cost so am bundled up for awhile...lol.
That's a great link Tricia...but as much as I have been wanting to learn how to sign, I don't know if I can get my old stiff fingers to move right. I did get the concept of the pointing and the sweeping thought...I've bookmarked it and hope to try and see if my poor ol addled brain can learn this and the hands follow the brain... quite a goal but am willing to try since a day w/o learning something is a wasted day I've been told...and I don't like to waste anything...especially time.
Trust things are manageable for all, and on the up-swing.
Cyn, was sorry to learn of Jimmy's passing in a way, but knowing he's at peace and w/o pain is a
good thing. I do think it was more sadness because of the timing...but no one who walks this earth has any control over when they will leave us. I just feel holidays or near holidays make the passing harder. Sully died just a couple of days before a holiday, and now I really don't enjoy that holiday any longer...often wonder if others feel that way too...ah well, such is life. Back to you Cyn, sending my condolences to the entire family.♥
Don't know if all saw the information about Kathy from Florida's hubby,Rob, being admitted to the hospital with several serious heart related issues and asking us to keep him in prayer as he recovers so thought I'd pass it along. Jane was able to share it on FB and I think the Easy pages although I haven't been on easy for awhile. So as we continue to remember all in need, the list gets longer, and we seem to have repeaters, and as strange as that may sound, it's not b/c we aren't good, but b/c we are...so send those healing vibes and good wishes...Peace! ♥

Hi all. Happy belated Mother's Day to all. Sorry I did not stop in for a few days. I have read quickly but did not post. Dad is back in the hospital. They drained a lot of fluid from one of his lungs today. This is third hospital stay in the last month or so. He is almost 85 years old and smoked for 66 of those years. It is catching up to him now.

While running errands today, I stopped at the pet shop and bought another bird. A new species. This bird is a very gentle Pineapple Conure. That's a gorgeous color mutation of the Green Cheeked Conure. I put him in with the Cockatiels. I was going to put him in with the Plum Headed Parakeets, but the hen made it abundantly clear that she didn't want him in her aviary.

Hi, All!

I'm seconding Mama's, Rolanda's and Heidi's messages.

Cyn, Jimmy will no doubt be missed, but what a relief that pain is no longer his companion.

Tami, all the best to Bernie, Bobbie, you and your family! It's always difficult to deal with hospitalizations of our parents, but even more so at the end of the school year as teachers try to get everything finished and students don't want to do anything.

Heidi, I hope IH finally got on the road! Enjoy your time without his presence.

Need to run, as we're starting our morning with dental hygiene appointments.

Sending warm {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, positive thoughts, prayers, healing vibes and - enough for everyone and some tp share!

HEIDI , What a lovely bird, no wonder you had to have him. good luck finding him a mate.

TAMI, sending get well thoughts and prayers for Bernie. Hugs to you and your Mom as you go through his hospitalization with him.

Mama, know what you mean about stiff fingers and sign language, My hands giving me problems now, not sure if it is just the signing, or just part of yet another flare. Our instructor swears signing is good for people with arthritis, the exercise of it. Hope you can give it a try.

Julie, I also learned to finger spell in school, think I told you, but had forgotten the reason we started. We had a very hard of hearing student, I even recall his name, who wore 2 large hearing aids connected via wires to a transistor radio sized 'somethi8ng' in his shirt pocket. He signed when he could not make himself understood, his speech was affected by being unable to hear. He got us a small card with finger spell alphabet on it.

Second Broni's request, wanna see the puppies, Please.

Busy yesterday and today. On phone a lot, or e-mail with daughters. so tired, after lunch today I fell asleep in my chair for a 3 hour nap, had just awakened when Mary, the house cleaner arrived. I had to hurry to finish my de-cluttering of chair side table and my bed. Bad habit of putting clothes on bed instead of hanging back up or putting in dirty clothes. I was due pain meds during time I was asleep. It is not good to go so long without.

I had planned to make a nice shrimp/pasta dish, but I think some soup and crackers will do for tonight. Will make the shrimp tomorrow.

Nola, the late, then early does not sound like fun. Hope you do it with minimal stress.

Hugs to each of you, with extras, till later.

That was a pleasant meeting, and the food was good.
The puppies are mad that I brought them in for the night. They're getting to be very playful and independent. I don't think they'll be happy unless I let them run loose in the yard. Unfortunately, a couple of the old timers don't want puppies chewing on them, and I'm afraid someone might fall in the pond. I may let them run loose tomorrow under supervision, though.

Hi all
Just still too busy to respond appropriately, one thing and another is time consuming.

Work is beginning on the flooded house...we wont hold our breath, as we have seen peoples hopes fall flat when things come to a screaming holt due to no tradesmen.

Bye again. Take care of yourselves.

Nola... I'm just glad it's a rental instead of the house YOU live in.
The pictures you showed us of the flooding in there were horrific. It might be cheaper to tear it down and rebuild from the original foundation. Mold is very dangerous to ones health, and you don't want to miss any.
Please don't overdo it. YOUR health is important too, and remember, these are just things.
